They didn't put it in because it would show how to modify a nerf gun, which could hold the channel liable if an event were to occur using a the same modification

Honestly no, I think mythbusters served a great purpose when it did, but I think the way we consume media has changed so much that it is kinda no longer needed, or at least that is how it feels to me. I actually enjoy these videos with Adam 100 times more than mythbusters, but that might just be because I hate TV in general.

Haha, but id say more like the martha stewart/tim allen lol . Bob ross was a painter that made painting accessible to every1. I grew up watching him sunday afternoons on pbs in the 90s. I would record his show via vhs. Then rewatch, & paint along. Bob ross expanded upon Bill Alexanders method of wet on wet and brush stroke techniques. Simplifying the process. Not paying attn to detail. Adam has expresses his talents using a variety of creations. Apparently, bob ross stated that his son was a better painter than he as he grew up learning from dad. Imagine bob created nerf guns too! Whoa, they shoot rainbows and coniferous needles!

The editing was good, keeps you engaged even when he's just walking around ( I think the flow and general atmosphere helps facilitate this).
Weird, this exemplifies bad editing to me. The constant cutting away from what Adam's doing is very annoying, as soon as the camera guy finds the focus, it cuts away. After seeing the whole thing, I still have hardly seen any of the details of the build.

The real icing on the cake of this project would be to open it back up and add something to most of the hollow spaces to dampen the plastic acoustics and give it some heft. The plastic sounds really detract from the rest of the awesome aura this thing gives off!
I like how Adam said he was going to make a sniper, which is used for surprise and hidden attacks, and then he immediately uses the brightest color as the base.

This is one of my favorite videos, of any category! I was gifted a Nerf gun at a company Xmas party recently, and I'm hoping to do some customizations like this. I've done some model building before, but this would be my first time doing this kind of movie prop style painting. I would love to know how the "silencer" was made, and how it connects to the barrel?

I always preferred Jakobs snipers.
This was the video that taught me how to spray paint stuff properly. Instead of just doing steady streams, I now do it in short bursts like he does here. I find it leads to a lot less "pooling" of paint and gives a nice, even finish.
The precision with which you rattle-can a Nerf gun speaks to how serious you take your work and is an inspiration.

Every time I need to take a nap or fall asleep I watch this video, it’s just so satisfying and cool that I just want to relish in the moment and fall asleep so I don’t forget about it for at least an hour
I used to do this all the time as a kid with my nerf guns, spent so many hours taking them apart and putting them back together again until they worked perfectly. Definitely taught me a lot about mechanics and building!

@@interstellish I could argue. I could say regular enough, I could point out pyrite crystals or snow flakes or anything that displays any kind of symmetry. But I know where that will lead. You'll come back with none of those examples are regular enough, it will devolve into arguing over semantics, intelligence will be insulted and it will just get more and more petty despite the fact it's a topic that neither of us really care all that much about.

The thing that everyone is told are all different? Symmetry doesn’t mean regularity... pyrite or any crystal structure is the same story... symmetrical? Sometimes, regular? No...
Symmetry 100% happens in nature as does regularity but you used absolutely terrible examples, the only examples of it really happening are on a very fundamental level with cell structures, physics and the like. Anything we can see with our eyes is completely irregular because they’re under much, much more forces that shape it. Pick any 2 columns of Giant’s Causeway and you’ll find that even though they’re in about the same place under about the same forces that “about” becomes massive after a few millennia to where they become very different structures. Take 2 snowflakes; they’re formed in about the same conditions but the slight variations in air pressure, available moisture, slight change in temperature etc changes their shape, 2 leaves off the very same tree, grow in about the same but slightly different circumstances that changes their structure, size, etc throughout the life of the tree/leaf...

How to weather like Adam Savage.
Step 1: Get a 3 years old child.
Step 2: Give the 3 years old a brush and a copper/brown acrylic paint.
Step 3: Put the object you want to weather near the child.
Step 4: Leave the child unattended and watch from afar.
Step 5: Wait till the child paints on the object.
Step 6: Rush to the object to clean it before the paint dries.
Step 7: Inspect the object's weathering. Repeat Step 3 if necessary.
Step 8: Take the brush and paint from the child if you don't want your living room to be weathered.
Congratulations! you now have an exact replica of Adam Savage's weathering technique.

Outstanding build. Love the weathering/aging technique. One minor observation, you put the bipod on backwards, when folded, the legs of the bipod are supposed to point forward.

3 don't paint the trigger, and if you do at least lube the shit out of the trigger.

Adam another good technique for managing screws is to photograph the part, then print it, cut holes in the screw locations and then put them in there, during the disassembly process, so nothing goes astray.

Yes if they are completely stock...completely overhauled longstrikes go for about $300...nevermind the fact that its been painted and coming with a real scope (which is probably worth $70 alone) and the real bipod (probably another $80), and then there's the hours of work he put into it.
plus it being made by Adam Savage means he could double the price after all that ;)
But this was obviously made for a fan, as a project. It's his job to make cool things and make videos about making those things, not selling them.
These pop up at Goodwill all the time for around $5-10.
Adam does it for fun & passion, not for monetary gain.

I definitely recommend the iFixIt magnetic whiteboard. It lets you put screws on it and then with a marker you can write where they need to go. I know this is 6 years late but in case anybody was wondering, it's a great tool to have handy.

I had that exact Nerfgun growing up. It didn't shoot far, but it looked damn good. Also that chamber access point wasn't decretive, it jammed a lot, especially on the suction cup bullets.

After watching this some time ago, I went out and did the Nerf version of Han Solo's DL-44 heavy blaster pistol and it came out pretty good... I like to use the riffled tip darts for extra awesomeness.
