"I never saw such skirmishers as the 95th. They could do the work much better and with infinitely less loss than any of our best light troops. They possessed an individual boldness, a mutual understanding, and a quickness of eye in taking advantage of the ground, which, taken altogether I never saw equalled. They were as much superior to the French Voltigeurs as the latter were to our skirmishers in general." - Major John Blackiston of the Portuguese Cacadores
Indeed!
Ahahaha. Monty python muzzleloaders. I laughed so hard my wife and the dogs thought I had flipped
I thought it was going to be "Its.....!!!!" and then instead "'tis but a flesh would". 🙂
Haha!
Man, that target really was, you could say, over the hills and far away
I see what you did there......
That Monthy Python reference brougth many memories.
Cheers!
Fantastic opening. Way to play homage to one of the finest comedy movies ever. Oh, and fine shooting as well. Love your vids.
Very kind! Thank you.
Rob, what you lack is swiftness, you more than make up in dapperness!
Haha!
You don’t have to say dapperness anymore, it’s 2022. you can just say homosexuality
@@OWSNubbles Just a joke m8
The 300 meter dash to the 50 meter target was quite impressive.
Now that's soldiering!
Thanks!
"Rifleman's Patented Pokey Thing"!!!! I am still laughing!!
And good shooting Sir!
Many thanks!
Now thats good soldierin'!
Now that's muzzleloadin!
Almost 3 rounds in a minute!
@@CSSVirginia I'll have you doing 3 rounds a minute!!!
Cheers!
> 4 shots
> 4 hits
Some people in the contest had modern rifles and probably missed but this man with a flintlock did not. Insane
Hey, I try. I'm not the best at it, but I make the effort.
Very well done! And don't get me wrong, I really loved the recent discussion videos you did (and would enjoy more like that), but it's nice to see another video of historical shooting. I have to say, however, that the run to the target made that seem like the longest 50 yards on the planet!
Hey,... I hear you! It was great to get back to things BP!
The opening skit was brilliant. So funny. Nice job on the shooting also. I was beginning to wonder if the 50 yard/meter run was ever going to finish. As usual the kit is outstanding. How you manage to do so many of them is amazing. Overall a great video. Thanks I really enjoyed it.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it! Thank you kindly.
Can't go wrong with a Monty Python cold open 😂
Never!
First time watcher coming from Ian, Othias & Mae. Your selection of Monty Python opening gag has sealed the deal.
Glad to be here.
Glad to have you along! Thank you!
You really are a bloody nerd when it comes to all of this. And for that we thank you. I love the lengths you go to to make a video. Brilliant stuff all round
Glad to be of service!
I love the subtle nod to Monty Python’s Flying Circus …
Indeed! Well, The Holy Grail anyway...
Love the Monty Python opener! Great video as always.
Very kind, thank you.
The cinematography in these videos is just excellent. The clothing, the beautiful backgrounds and, of course, the GUNS! It all makes for a channel of great historical value. I'm impressed on the results of flintlock rifles, they truly have their quite unknown potential! Thanks.
And that's not a high quality target rifle!
As soon as I saw the thumbnail, the guitar intro from Sharpe started in my head :)
Haha!
Lol. Rob at first I was convinced the Highlander was bringing you a welcome bottle of Scotch.
Haha!
The damp ending is the reason they gave you that pokey thing. Best dressed man in the challenge. Well done Rob!
Very kind, John!
Now thats real soldiering!!
Cutting fuses short thats real soldiering!
Feeding false information to the enemy, that's real soldiering!
Haha!
Another brilliant comedic opening from a true master of skit comedy and old style black powder arms!!!!
Very kind! Thank you.
Another superb CFC video! You have a winning formula, humor, background packed with historical info, good shooting and cinematography. But the editing in the opening sequence was... very well played.
Cheers!
Now that's proper soldiering Mr. Harper
Haha!
Such a fine intro from a fine muzzle loading gentleman
Cheers!
Haha! We’ll done on the Monty Python reference. It just made my night!
Glad to hear!
You can usually tell the quality of a channel by the comments of the community that gathers around it. You, sir, have an excellent community and a great channel. Thank you for your knowledge, your skill and your humour.
That is very kind of you to say. Thank you.
That Monty Python bit... you are truly a man of Class.
Thank you for these videos!
You are most welcome!
Hi from Syracuse NY USA brother and thank you for sharing everything about the British army
You are welcome. I don't know everything, but I try my best.
Thank you for sharing brother
Great video, being an ex rifleman myself its great to see the regimental history being displayed so accurately. So well presented throughout all your videos, be it on the baker or anything else. Keep up the great work.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!
I greatly appreciate the Monty Python reference. Made me laugh as soon as the you showed the first shot of the highlander in the distance because I knew exactly what was coming.
Excellent!

Very kind!

A bit of damp never hurt anyone! 😉
A wonderful video, thsnk you!

Dam I love watching the channel and the humor in it. Great video a always Sir!

Superbe run! So much faster than my “range safe” PRB version.
Just wait until you get the Macerones in action!
I knew exactly what was coming but it was even better than I anticipated. Great way to start!!!!
Cheers!
As soon as the hand went up to the hat brim I just knew what was coming... 😂👌
Well done!
Thanks so much. This was a great video. I love seeing the Baker in action.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Baker rifle cartridge appears on screen:
Me: That's Dim Sum.
Crisp audio and video and the classic python humour on top. I was waiting for miracle the horse dragging the cart with the big joint.^^
The weather only makes it better (not for you out there). While the mentioned videos like on the ammo or others for the baker rifle are in the video, also add them to the description and a pinned comment for those that never open the description box. The lower the bar to start those videos, the more will be watching.
Congratulations on your award.
Thank you!
Magnificent as always.
Cheers!
Nicley done sir. Nicely done.
Cheers!
Wearing your Rifleman’s uniform in cold temperatures like a Chosen Man? Now thats soldiering!

I agree!
Well done Sir!

Good Job. good video and a bit of humour is needed, today. Thanks. As to the failures to manifest it's charge, IT happens.
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thank you very much!
Loving the python references Rob...IT'S
Cheers!
So dapper
Haha!
SIR: Another outstanding video, never get tired of watching them. That being said I like them better when you're in period dress compared to civvies, you seem more at home in the different period of uniforms. Oh, by the way that was the longest 50 yards I ever seen anyone run LOL
Thank you! It was a long haul up to the target....
Awesome!
Cheers!
It's..... British Muzzleloaders!!!!! Hehehe... Epic intro.
Boy, 50 yards in western Canada sure is a long way! LOL!!!!
I know!
Great take on the grail 👍😅
Cheers!
I’m glad there was no going on and on about who killed who.
A fun video and great shooting.
Cheers!
Nice shooting, Rob!
Thank you!
Loved the intro! I've been reclusive this winter so I finally understand why it's called the cabin fever challenge, gonna have to get back out there now. Also how come the keel row played? Marching tune of a highland regiment maybe?
Double March of the Rifles.
Well done sir.
Cheers!
Fantastic as always.
Ps I had to note how your 50 meter is a bit longer than here in the UK. So very impressive shooting all round.
Haha! Cheers!
love the monty python reference
Cheers!
This just makes me wish Pedersoli would make a Baker rifle even more.
There are rumours.....
The Monty Python reference honestly had me going from the start XD
Cheers!
Another excellent video!
I would love to own a Baker!
A video on how to do that on the Channel if you are interested...
@@britishmuzzleloaders Of course I am.
Although I'm probably going to have to save up for a while to get one.😉😉
LOL to the intro 😂
Cheers!
The most dapper potato peeler on the internet!
Haha!
Celer et audax! Great job Rob!
Cheers!
"Can you stand lads?"...Major Richard Sharpe.
"Now I know you can shoot. The question is: can you stand?"
Yes.
Fine shooting Rob!
Thank you!
If I take my glasses off and squint I would swear that you were Richard Sharpe or Sergeant Harper probably 😂
Haha!
"And Now for something Completely Different!"
Indeed!
Wonderful, hilarious intro... Perhaps what the French were really lacking was Highlanders. Your videography has improved greatly over the last few years.
Thank you very much! Still quite "hobby grade"... 😀
The shoots at 50 meters - congratulations on the shoot.
Thank you.
Great target!!!
Thank you!
Lol, I'm sure John Cleese would be proud.
Haha! Maybe?
Monty Python intro killed me 😂😂😂
Cheers!
@@britishmuzzleloaders Cheers and greetings from Italy my friend XD
Richard Sharpe would be proud.
Who?
Looks like you and that Baker were made for each other :)
Haha! Should do, I made it!
Fine shooting
Thank you!
Nice!
Thank you V!
Great shooting! Thanks again for the great video. This is an unrelated question but I’m curious about how many times can you reload 303 cases? Thanks again for the great work you do!
Neck size and dedicate brass... 10-15 reloads?... More?
Thank you! I just picked up an smle and am trying to reload for it, have found 150grn. Bullets and several powders that I could find data for but read in a reloading manual that I could only use cases a couple times sounded funny to me, I figured if anyone would know the truth it would be you, love your channel! thanks again!
Big breath there before the sitting shot. Got the job done, though!
Got to do what you got to do...
