Kimi Antonelli's AMAZING iRacing HOTLAP in Formula 3

  • Whilst the rest of us mere mortals wear doing 1.15s 1.14s, Kimi Antonelli, a REAL LIFE Formula 2 driver soon to possibly be joining the paddock in the Formula 1, was hammering in unreal laptimes towards the end of the race, 1.12s, and it was crazy to see just what lines and speed he must've been carrying around to get such a lap. It's impressive and cool to see how a top level driver in real life, can also drive at a monster level in the simulator too!

I remember last year I was in the same split at le mans Porsche cup
He started 17 guess in the start of 2nd lap he was already 1st
This generation are very comfortable in sim racing as well as real life

I was so happy with a 13.9 on that track and car, a 12.8 is crazy!

You most likely use base setup most people have equipment that they can feel the car more better than other wheels allowing for a set up that is fast

@@anajeemcfarland1548 yeh, custom setups are too expensive to buy and i cant be bothered with making my own setups anymore, i'd rather hop in and race. my equipment isnt the issue, but the setups are to an extent.

Iracing fits my style so much better because of the realistic braking not slamming to 100% and holding actually modulating the brake and doing 70 to 80% braking which is 100% of brake before lockup. Things like that acc was a very hard transition for me. I think I'll go back to iracing for a bit lol.

Acc has gt3 cars that have abs. From what i've heard the abs and tc of these cars irl is one of the most complex and advanced on the whole motorsports world. So then, leaving them to do their job without slowing you down seems fair.
However, i think there's sometheing else here. Basically imo iracing's 80% braking is acc's 100%. The braking models are very similar and realistic. It's just that iracing lets you get over the treshold of braking while acc doesn't. It's like an assist acc has.

@@rickrolled7930 kinda wrong mate, IRL you trigger and ride the abs into corners fully mainly on the largest braking zones, on other smaller braking zones / corners your peak brake pressure (in bars since there is no %age in real life) is lesser than the peak brake pressure on the largest braking zone,
on ACC 95% of the corners you are required to trigger abs even before turn in by braking to 100% where as iracing some corners require only 60% some only 30% some only 5% and then abs gets triggered becuse of the turn in on some spots but you dont need to have excessive brake pressure everywhere.
I like the tyre model on gt3's and pressure simulation on ACC alot more than iracing which is where iracing sucks big time, abs on iracing also heats up the tyres alot more .but i really would like for ACC to have more realistic braking , because the weight transfer physics on acc feel all wrong and not intuitive at all. because in real life you just dont load up the fronts so much for turn in as you do in acc. and the timing of getting off the brakes is also fucked,
      czcams.com/video/0al_OVwenA8/video.html
Take a look at this real life onboard, see how the peak brake pressure varies for different corners and then compare it to an acc lap, you will see its more inline with iracing, which is part of the reason iracing is so successful even with not so good tyre model for gt3's.
