If I were to run the alloy race head with roller rockers from MED, would I need the offset rockers or would the standard work?

      Hi Brenden
Are you talking about one of the Pierce heads in this video? Both of these need LOTS of work to make a "race head"
If the new Mini Spares race head, then yes the offset rockers will be the better choice. I have a set of MED's latest offset rollers, made for heads with greater valve spacing. ALL alloy heads are made this way to allow room for valve seats.... and it so happens, bigger valves! I'll see how they fit on my own Pierce head and report back....

Also to add, as I have one of these on a 1380 bottom end, the head was warped after the previous owner couldn't get it running right. Also the valve seats were unfinished so didn't seal properly. All sortable but unless picked up by my engine builder it would have run like a pig for ever...!

What's the going rate for a pierce 7 port, I'm in the UK and would love one for my road engine

Here it is on Mini Mania's website... Awful description, not my doing! The photos show a complete head but apparently you get it bare for the price. MED used to build and supply these. Also check Specialist Components in the UK... if cost is no concern!
