I just started playing recently. Try to find a local pickup league and make it out. It’s good fun.

I have two frisbee discraft ultra-star 175g since 2018, but today when I threw upwards to make them come back like a boomerang, when they hit the ground they broke after a few attempts! Previously, in winter they did not break when they crashed into trees and other objects. Has the expiration date expired or should it be released carefully due to the temperature?

Not really
I mean, it’s probably expanded demographics from when you were a kid. There are less people playing, but it is likely more professional because there are national and international teams that have sprung up in the last couple years.

Because Ambrose's D highlights are better and so is Matt Smith's greatest. NY certainly had the best team, but I guess not top 10 highlights🤷

That's what I was wondering too, I'm not sure he got any extra reach by moving his foot that way, but his foot was definitely off the ground when he released.
@@NQbass7 If you go frame by frame, the disk did leave his hand before he moved his pivot foot. So it isn't a travel

He just made a great score and wanted to celebrate. No taunting or disrespect of the other team, nothing rude to the fans, just excitement. It’s no different than spiking a football on a touchdown

@@vireogilvus And Discraft sponsors AUDL, so they’ve got plenty of discs, not to mention they’re really inexpensive to make, especially in bulk. It’s a plastic circle, probably easier to make than any other sport ball or equipment
@@vireogilvusa frisbee costs a couple bucks, and most people just bend it back anyways. It’s frowned upon usually, but these are big games. It’s fine.

I love this sport, but I’m dismayed to see that it now has “officials,” and a time limit.
That isn’t how the sport was originally devised. It loses something now that it’s like most other sports.
I don't mind celebrations or clever spikes that don't hurt the disc, but spikes that warp/bend/destroy discs are stupid and need to be retired. To this viewer, it completely erases whatever greatness may or may not have just happened. It disrespects the disc and the game, it is wasteful, and I'd love to see the AUDL, but more importantly ultimate culture, take steps to do away with them

I have two frisbee discraft ultra-star 175g since 2018, but today when I threw upwards to make them come back like a boomerang, when they hit the ground they broke after a few attempts! Previously, in winter they did not break when they crashed into trees and other objects. Has the expiration date expired or should it be released carefully due to the temperature?
You may have thrown them too high at too extreme of an angle. They will crack easier if they hit perpendicular to the ground, espescially on concrete. You should just generally avoid throwing your frisbees like that unless you are on grass, but cracking a few is bound to happen
