Ref collision on the number 1 throw is pretty bants
Nah. The ref is a piece of the field just like anything else. Players need to deal with his existence in the same way they would a divot on the pitch. This is nothing special.
I mean if you can call a pick on an opposing player boxing you out from defending you should be able to call pick on a ref blocking you too. I thought ultimate was supposed to be self-officiated tho?
@@linuslaw9648 it is but in the AUDL they have observers that make calls
Player wasn’t gonna catch him anyway.
I think the Madison defender has a very good call that he was picked by the ref, when you consider that the receiver had to milk this one into the endzone and the defender could've forced him to catch it too early in order to keep possession.
The thing for me about the Seattle throw is that Carnegie was nearly on both ends of it. Gareth Bale esque.
Rumour has it Marc Bartra is still running till this day
What has me is the ref that gets bulldozed
I definitely watched this in order to make sure one was on there…. And it was rightfully #1. I think about that throw often.
5:26 Thats a professional ref
Anyone notice the ref get absolutely rolled on #1
Insane compilation! Love it!
GORGEOUS throws!!
Nethercutt's flick bomb should be number one
It's like choosing between your own children at the top of this list
What a great sport
All the glory goes to the thrower but to me it goes to the catcher as well. In addition to an all out sprint you also have to read the disc while running.
5:25 The ref knew the mission. Well done sir
#9 should be number 1. Best throw ever.
#3 and #2 (either of these) > #1 (in my opinion)! That being said, all of these are pure epic. We are talking about the difference between A+ and... well another A+, HA
I didn't know that kind of sports
On that #1 throw, the defender who ran into the ref could have very feasibly had a play on the disc... it was like a pick by the ref. Not sure of the exact rule on this in AUDL, but it does sort of detract from the play's greatness to my mind.
The throw itself of course is amazing.
Defender had no shot.
Are the discs designed for this sport? I’ve been chucking them around for 50 years, in UK, but these seem to behave more predictably and further.
There is official standard for the disc, but it's not that special. They are just professionals. Same as football. You have same sized balls, but you can't kick it like Messi or CR7.
@@professionalappreciator . Thanks for that. Professional? That is equally surprising. Big money? The UK has just about 3 Disc Golf courses. I’d hazard that more are bought by dog owners than genuine enthusiasts.
@@josephinebennington7247 Shouldn't use these discs (Discraft Ultrastar 175) for dogs; too hard and heavy. The UK has one of the better ultimate scenes outside of North America. Ultimate is not the same as disc golf; they use different discs, just like golf and football use different balls.
20 nlng?
Si
Two throws from Nethercutt is right.
3:45 who threw that 100 yard flick??
That was Justin Allen.
@@dylanbird9912 thx dawg
3:32 sorta looked like a travel, didn't have much momentum going into the catch, then took two or three steps into it so he could get a deeper huck
Actually I believe he was really smart about it, he stepped into the catch leading with his right foot (non pivot foot), the next step was his left (establishing the pivot), and released with his left foot still in place. So no travel
Interesting observation. If you were running forward to make a catch you have time to stop and I think you don't even need to set a pivot if you release it before your third footfall after the catch. He's definitely going for forward momentum.
8 is a travel I think?
That's what I was thinking too
Slowed down, then sped up. I would call travel.
You get as many steps as you need to stop, but if you exceed 3 you should go back. This thrower sets himself up well by moving forward before the catch, so he gets three. With no defender, tough travel call
@@j.r.reynolds530 Ruling is you have to be actively slowing your momentum, not increasing it
A saying
Have you heard the saying. There’s always that one Asian get who does it best. Though other’s equally great. Just. Saying
