    I love the atmosphere in all the Championship Weekend Highlights. Always a pretty big crowd and great teams in do-or-die situations.

    3:10 KPS is on another level. All of these guys are but he's on another one still. Watching him crawl, keeping eyes on the disc, falling, figuring out which hand is available for the second D, while his opponent is laying out along side of him.

    I REALLY want to write a documentary about how the Madison Radicals won their first title even after years of embarrassing loses in the finals. I would call it “Radical Resilience: Ultimate Champs”

      You're talking injury potential, right, Jonathan Ong? I'm gonna say these guys - especially the younger lighter ones just slide - they don't care. What's the cascades player who says he's like a golden retriever - Donny Clark - anyway, he didn't get right back up after his layout bid going to the other endzone. He stayed down for quite some time, I believe. He goes to get up and then stops on hands and knees and decides to just lay back down. I think the version of the game I saw edited that part out - it wasn't live. But I want to say they cut out minutes and minutes. You ever see someone layout and then do a sommersault instead of landing on their chest (or whatever)? Actually, dudes do get fucked up fairly regularly. Occasionally anyway.

    • @danieldeming
      @danieldeming Před 5 lety +5

      I think you are correct (assuming the timer reached 0 before his catch) because the AUDL rule 5.2.5 states...
      "If the clock shows 0 and the disc is in the air, the play shall continue until
      the result of the throw is determined. No subsequent throw shall be permitted, regardless of the existence of a pivot foot. The period or game will end when the disc touches the ground or is caught"
      He does get the throw off before he lands but that doesn't seem to matter per that rule

      Get the Fuck Out of the Way? I agree. That defender was picked by the ref. And while I still think the receiver could've easily closed out and maintained possession before the defender could've done anything, that would'nt've been enough - that was a huck with the buzzer sounding while it was in the air so being on the doorstep wouldn't have meant anything - he had to milk it a few more yards and the defender probably would've been very relevant at that point. That was an amazing game with that point and the one where Danny Clark layed out at the other end of the field - if you notice he tries to get up but doesn't actually get up - he stays down for quite some time. That is one of my all time favorite games. The most amazing come back by the Cascades. Ultimate should be as popular as American football - athletes should be paid 300 million a year. Or at least a few multiples of a very comfortable living wage.

  • @dominicbuchan2252
    @dominicbuchan2252 Před 5 lety +4

    I think it's a shame that so many of the top five are just punt and hope scores. If the whole game was like that no one would watch it. How much those fluky goals are applauded is one of the most annoying things about AUDL when comparing to Ultimate.
