When I see people playing runescape, i just see the bad graphics and not sure what is going on. Maybe a good video idea would be to explain why YOU enjoy the game so much and maybe some nuance or information about the game. It might get people interested in playing it, and making a little side community for your channel, like a guild or something?
This is an opportunity. Do a runscape series, I don't play that game, but with a passioned man with knowledge of the game, I would atleast watch it. Upvote this shit

Never played RuneScape but I too have a passion for a game that is around the same age, I think a year younger. Final Fantasy 11 was my first ever MMO and is still my favorite game of all time. I am as of a week ago playing my original account for the first time in 9 years! I feel every bit of what you said in my soul…the account although far behind in content, just the nostalgia alone is enough. Don’t let the shitty people get you down! Man I get furious when I lose a couple hours in a game by not saving. I couldn't imagine tens of thousands of hours to re-do and thousands of real money. I'd be done too

My steam account got hacked 3 years ago after a good old friend of mine - who didnt have a lot of money to begin with - bought me all the Arkham collection for my birthday. Naa it's not worth the grind. These issues come from the server end. He'll just build it back then lose everything again. 1. It'll kill the views on his channel. 2. It'll peak stress him out when it happens again in about 6 months.

If you like MMOs and don't play oldschool runescape in 2023 you are missing out it's truly the best MMO in 2023 a update every week with big expansions every few months at no extra cost the combat looks simple but in the late game it's some of the most difficult pvm you can get in a MMO watch the awakened bosses in oldschool runescape

THAT BEING SAID, he still learned a lesson like you stated. The lesson is that if anyone knows your name (first name, and last name) your account is at risk. Runescape has such a toxic community, in the sense of ruining years of gameplay. No game compares to that of runescape, league is a lovely children playground where people just say bad words compared to runescape sadly :(!!!

The game saved me. It was my only distraction from a really hard time in my life for many years. I had also been hacked on it, so I can relate to your pain. I've since got more things in my life and barely play the game, but when I depended on it this kind of thing threw my mental health to a really bad place. Hope you make the most of it soon, and I like the idea of doing a series as well.

@@Rockyrodentt in theory because it restoring items implies people can make literally any mistake in the game and then go "i got hacked it wasnt me" to roll it back. Also could lead to duping items etc etc. It's a shitty stance but most MMOs hold it because they want to avoid roll backs being abused.
@@Rockyrodentt because lots of players would fake the whole "i got hacked" story to treat the support system as quick reload if they f-ed up anything... that would lead to hard locking your support system with loads of uneccesary work to fix every little mistake players make.. leads to not enough workforce for the real problems that actually cost the company money and player count.

Nah it's the runescape support issue of being able to try to send in a password reset with email switch on 1 ip infinitely... all the really need is what area you live in and when you started playing the game..... hmm I think everyone knows he is from Alaska and 21-22 years ago he started his account.. they made osrs 3rd party authentication because of how stupid their account takeover system is to be broken into and it's so sad
Accounts and loot are one thing but they can never take your memories away. What really had you hooked and what really kept you coming back was the effort and love you put into the game. My friend got hacked and cleaned out. He had phone authenticator, bank pin, unique password, and unique email address. No viruses found. Makes no sense... but either way, even though I wasn't hacked, it killed my desire to play since that's my duo. Depressing.

It really sucks. Earlier this year I got hacked and my 450-500m bank cleaned out, which drove me to quit playing OSRS. Jagex told me that they indeed could see my account was hacked, but there was nothing they can do about it. Why can they not revert trades and ban accounts that muled stolen items/gold? This could be easily automated for cases where an account was 100% proven to be hacked.
Totally wish I could get not only my items I had hacked from me.. but my account unbanned. Years later I finally managed to get my account back just to find it had been banned forever due to "serious violations" which makes me believe they had used my hacked account to scam people until it was banned, or lure people, or whatever grimey stuff they used to do back in the day. I've never gotten a response from Jager, and I had a **** ton of rares and unique stats.. 😢
the hacker was most likely a viewer and over time they asked you small questions like where are you from, how old the account is, if you have any pets or what was the name of your favorite pet, etc. etc. its something streamers have been falling for, for years like another comment stated, this is a perfect chance to start a rebuilding series, make something good from the bad
@@-Bill.They could but they won't. If they start doing roll backs etc people would abuse it via vpns or getting there friends to 'hack' them. I mean they could probably track the stolen items to make sure they're removed from other accounts before returning them to the original owner but jagex has the worse customer support ever so it won't happen. Also people could the above and rwt and then get there items back too

Try to take solace in the fact that you may feel shitty for a while, but not forever. But the person who hacked you has to live their entire life feeling even more miserable than you. Dude that sucks majorly, I'm really sorry that happened to you. To me runescape is a chill place to call home when I'm in between everything else. Honestly I would suggest playing an ironman(if you want to start over), it's really fun and to earn everything yourself is super satisfying.

Sorry that happened to you bro, I know how it feels. I've been playing Runescape since it came out, and it has always been like my constant game I go back to and just relax and have fun playing. Back in the day I was CONSTANTLY getting hacked. Every time I got close to even 1m I would get hacked. At one point I had every P Hat, Halloween Mask, Christmas Cracker, etc., EVERYTHING. I tossed them on some level 3 burner character to keep it safe, and even that got hacked. I know where you are coming from =/ sorry it happened to yah.
Sorry to hear that! I feel ya though. I had every item in Diablo 2, 0.8 Valks, bugged items, even a perm'd BTals, which at the time, there were only two perm'd in existence on the server I played on. Lost everything and didn't play for about 8 years. Now when I play, it's for fun. Also, none of that would've transferred over to D2R, but would still be worth something today. Hopefully, the next time that you play RuneScape, it's still enjoyable, even though the sting will still be there.
Found you on the D4 release, I'm an active OSRS player and have been an on and off scaper for 15+ years and I know how bad this feels, the time and effort we put into our accounts is truly immeasurable. I also have never played RS at all, but seeing you explain it the way you did definitely made me understand that it was something special for you. I don't think I have a game like that or anything in my life (apart from my wife and 2 cats) that I would care about losing but I can sympathise with what you're going through. Dude. I also had been playing RuneScape since 2001. Had full mask set, a party hat, some Easter eggs and pumpkins. Then I got hacked in around 2012 and lost everything. It was a huge bummer and still haunts me to this day. It’s honestly hard for me to listen or see any RuneScape content because it felt like such a huge loss. Months of cumulative gameplay all lost.
I 100% feel that. Had the same thing happen to me and I dropped the game for about 5 years because of it. I started an ironman and am enjoying the game again though. It makes me feel a bit less spiteful about it because I wouldn't have been able to trade anything to my ironman anyways!

My 20yr old RS account got hacked at some point while i was away and they must have used it to advertise because when i tried to play last year it was perma'd. I was so upset but i still felt like grinding so i made another account under my new main email and started grinding and just hit max a couple months ago. Its insane how easy it is these days but the journey was still fun and i think im going to end it there, no more RS for me

Hi DM, I understand you would feel guilty letting people donate to you again in Runescape gold and items. But here is the thing, I would argue half of giving is making the giver feel good. If you don't rebuild you let the hacker win! Take a couple of days or weeks, and then let's rise together on this mission!
I know your pain man, been through it myself. Got hacked for everything I got and I used to stream OSRS almost every day and it feels like some are just watching to social engineer themselves into your account. After that it never felt the same on my main so started an ironman that I keep for myself and no one seen it. Might be the only way to keep the weird ones out. I just got hacked two weeks ago! Lost a 3.5b bank and honestly it hurt so much, I've had the account since 2008 and now i feel like not playing it at all. Instead I'm now playing on my GIM with my buddy and we're enjoying that and I just have no motivation to do a rebuild. All to say I feel your pain DM. I hope you can still enjoy the game! Dude… I feel you. My husband watches your videos and I always get fan-girl when you talk about OSRS. Back when I was a teen, I got hacked. Didn’t even know what 2 factor authentication was. Had a bank pin but that isn’t much. I was looaaddedd on there. Had my prized Santa hat that I’d always wear. Got hacked, totally wiped, and I was just absolutely inconsolable for weeks. Of course one never quits RuneScape, but it’s still heartbreaking to me even 15 years later.

I have fond memories of Runescape. That was the rage for our middle school back in the day. I would also support and watch Runescape videos even though I haven't played since. You have so much passion for it that I want to help be part of the universe that helps out. It's sad that some people with all that knowledge and know how use it to steal and destroy for money. I am as of a week ago playing my original account for the first time in 9 years! I feel every bit of what you said in my soul…the account although far behind in content, just the nostalgia alone is enough. Don’t let the shitty people get you down! If you like MMOs and don't play oldschool runescape in 2023 you are missing out it's truly the best MMO in 2023 a update every week with big expansions every few months at no extra cost the combat looks simple but in the late game it's some of the most difficult pvm you can get in a MMO watch the awakened bosses in oldschool runescape

THAT BEING SAID, he still learned a lesson like you stated. The lesson is that if anyone knows your name (first name, and last name) your account is at risk. Runescape has such a toxic community, in the sense of ruining years of gameplay. No game compares to that of runescape, league is a lovely children playground where people just say bad words compared to runescape sadly :(!!!

The game saved me. It was my only distraction from a really hard time in my life for many years. I had also been hacked on it, so I can relate to your pain. I've since got more things in my life and barely play the game, but when I depended on it this kind of thing threw my mental health to a really bad place. Hope you make the most of it soon, and I like the idea of doing a series as well.

Nah it's the runescape support issue of being able to try to send in a password reset with email switch on 1 ip infinitely... all the really need is what area you live in and when you started playing the game..... hmm I think everyone knows he is from Alaska and 21-22 years ago he started his account.. they made osrs 3rd party authentication because of how stupid their account takeover system is to be broken into and it's so sad

It really sucks. Earlier this year I got hacked and my 450-500m bank cleaned out, which drove me to quit playing OSRS. Jagex told me that they indeed could see my account was hacked, but there was nothing they can do about it. Why can they not revert trades and ban accounts that muled stolen items/gold? This could be easily automated for cases where an account was 100% proven to be hacked.
Totally wish I could get not only my items I had hacked from me.. but my account unbanned. Years later I finally managed to get my account back just to find it had been banned forever due to "serious violations" which makes me believe they had used my hacked account to scam people until it was banned, or lure people, or whatever grimey stuff they used to do back in the day. I've never gotten a response from Jager, and I had a **** ton of rares and unique stats.. 😢

the hacker was most likely a viewer and over time they asked you small questions like where are you from, how old the account is, if you have any pets or what was the name of your favorite pet, etc. etc.

I mean they could probably track the stolen items to make sure they're removed from other accounts before returning them to the original owner but jagex has the worse customer support ever so it won't happen. Also people could the above and rwt and then get there items back too

Sorry that happened to you bro, I know how it feels. I've been playing Runescape since it came out, and it has always been like my constant game I go back to and just relax and have fun playing. Back in the day I was CONSTANTLY getting hacked. Every time I got close to even 1m I would get hacked. At one point I had every P Hat, Halloween Mask, Christmas Cracker, etc., EVERYTHING. I tossed them on some level 3 burner character to keep it safe, and even that got hacked. I know where you are coming from =/ sorry it happened to yah.
Sorry to hear that! I feel ya though. I had every item in Diablo 2, 0.8 Valks, bugged items, even a perm'd BTals, which at the time, there were only two perm'd in existence on the server I played on. Lost everything and didn't play for about 8 years. Now when I play, it's for fun. Also, none of that would've transferred over to D2R, but would still be worth something today. Hopefully, the next time that you play RuneScape, it's still enjoyable, even though the sting will still be there.
Found you on the D4 release, I'm an active OSRS player and have been an on and off scaper for 15+ years and I know how bad this feels, the time and effort we put into our accounts is truly immeasurable. Goddamn dude. I don't watch the livestream (Twitch is a mess with ads and video quality) but I watch a lot of your YT stuff. I also have never played RS at all, but seeing you explain it the way you did definitely made me understand that it was something special for you. I don't think I have a game like that or anything in my life (apart from my wife and 2 cats) that I would care about losing but I can sympathise with what you're going through.

Dude. I also had been playing RuneScape since 2001. Had full mask set, a party hat, some Easter eggs and pumpkins. Then I got hacked in around 2012 and lost everything. It was a huge bummer and still haunts me to this day. It’s honestly hard for me to listen or see any RuneScape content because it felt like such a huge loss. Months of cumulative gameplay all lost.
I 100% feel that. Had the same thing happen to me and I dropped the game for about 5 years because of it. I started an ironman and am enjoying the game again though. It makes me feel a bit less spiteful about it because I wouldn't have been able to trade anything to my ironman anyways!

My 20yr old RS account got hacked at some point while i was away and they must have used it to advertise because when i tried to play last year it was perma'd. I was so upset but i still felt like grinding so i made another account under my new main email and started grinding and just hit max a couple months ago. Its insane how easy it is these days but the journey was still fun and i think im going to end it there, no more RS for me

Hi DM, I understand you would feel guilty letting people donate to you again in Runescape gold and items. But here is the thing, I would argue half of giving is making the giver feel good. If you don't rebuild you let the hacker win! Take a couple of days or weeks, and then let's rise together on this mission!
I know your pain man, been through it myself. Got hacked for everything I got and I used to stream OSRS almost every day and it feels like some are just watching to social engineer themselves into your account. After that it never felt the same on my main so started an ironman that I keep for myself and no one seen it. Might be the only way to keep the weird ones out.

I just got hacked two weeks ago! Lost a 3.5b bank and honestly it hurt so much, I've had the account since 2008 and now i feel like not playing it at all.
Instead I'm now playing on my GIM with my buddy and we're enjoying that and I just have no motivation to do a rebuild.

Dude im so sorry that happened. I started back in 03 quit to play wow came back to runescape few years ago and had lost my account. I know that is rough, once you get your account back I hope you can get back into it again
I mean to play oldschool runescape you would have to make a brand new character anyways because your old character would be a rs3 one if it waa from 03 and let me tell you that if you are not playing oldschool runescape in 2023 you are missing out big time because it's at its peak right now the best game you can play right now really focused on the player experience rather than greed we get a new update every week voted on by us the players and a new expansion every 3 months at no extra cost they have added multiple raids and tons of new bosses like the awakened bosses recently

Back when I was a teen, I got hacked. Didn’t even know what 2 factor authentication was. Had a bank pin but that isn’t much.
I was looaaddedd on there. Had my prized Santa hat that I’d always wear.
Got hacked, totally wiped, and I was just absolutely inconsolable for weeks.
Of course one never quits RuneScape, but it’s still heartbreaking to me even 15 years later.

I'm very sorry to hear this new brotha, I personally lost my account to the same thing, no 2 factor auth and I lost an account I had as a kid since 2003. They denied my appeals I am at a loss at what to do 😭
my buddy got hardcore into Runescape a few years ago but i couldnt get into it. but id love to see content from you on it. he doesnt play anymore, but maybe itll spark my interest. but if not, i'd still like to watch you play something you love.

I have fond memories of Runescape. That was the rage for our middle school back in the day.
I would also support and watch Runescape videos even though I haven't played since. You have so much passion for it that I want to help be part of the universe that helps out.
It's sad that some people with all that knowledge and know how use it to steal and destroy for money. They aren't living life. They are just liches.

However if they watch this video and want some form of redemption, give this man back what you took please. This was so uncalled for and cruel.
Don’t beat yourself up about it, look at it as a chance to re-experience the game from the beginning and love it more. Obviously it sucks, but there’s always a bright side to everything, even if it’s only a dim light.

My max main that ive had since I was 13 (32 now) got hacked on osrs and they botted it into a permaban while i was on a runescape break. I've tried to appeal and attempted to contact the mods on twitter but no luck and Its been really hard to cope with. I can totally empathize with you and I hope you enjoy yourself while you rebuild. I'd love to see a series where you get everything back or even just a runescape series.

I did feel bad things were coming your way.. I'm sorry I am able to see these things happen to good people that try hard, just can't work too hard in this kind of life. Grief can change a person. I wish I could see what comes, I can sometimes see grief and troubled times that can destroy our life's road.

Having been robbed myself, I think the feeling of violation is even worse than the material loss. Most stuff you can duplicate but not that little piece of your soul that they took.
You can try filling that void with actual brain cells and turn on 2-factor.
