For other newbies like me, I'm pretty new to the game, and used Raxx's sorc blizz leveling build last season. Tempering before capstones is really really really helpful to say the least ESPECIALLY when you get double tempering with Ancestral gear. Makes the capstones easy even 20+ levels below the boss. Running nightmare dungeon events with super fast wave kills will make your XP bar go up SO FAST lol. It's unreal.

Thanks for another great guide. I really believe an armory is so necessary now with all the different, interesting builds they have. Like sorcerer has 4 S tier builds theory crafted on maxroll and it would be cool to swap between them. I understand that leveling has gotten significantly easier so maybe they're incentivizing us to make multiple characters and play it that way but an armory system would still be appreciated

In your tier list you would put Rogue as number 1, Sorc as number 2, Necro at number 3, Druid at number 4 and Barb at the bottom. Personally I'm really excited to try a shred druid build with andariels visage, waxing gibbous, fists of fate, flickerstep and airidahs inexorable will with lacerate as the ultimate.
Thank you, very helpful. Knowing that you play mostly hardcore puts your comments in perspective. On "softcore" there is no downside to dying so no need to avoid overreaching. Leveling this season was so fast that I usually go to 20 before breaking for the class quest and training health pots. Then I break for the first capstone at 33 to 40, depending on how fast I am leveling when I hit 33. I go to the second capstone early because after switching to tier 4 I can go from 50 to 55 in hell tide events in just a few minutes with the gear I used for the 2nd capstone. I agree tempering is the most important power multiplier.
Hello Raxx, great job as usual but i think that steps 3 to 7 maybe need a little rework. Let me explain. Step 3: add the hint to go to the wardrobe and equip a pet. Step 4: in theory it's THE logical step, but the problem is that with the continuous buffs to exp, you'll be 15 way before the seasonal questline has finished (i'm level 20 atm and the questline is sill going on). So at a certain point of the seasonal questline you'll have to take a break and go directly to step 7 (it's more efficient than doing step 6 before 7), then go back to step 6, then finish step 4 and then do step 5 up to 40-45. My suggestion: step 6 becomes step 4. Once you're done you'll be 15. If not, just do "whispers dungeons" until you are 15. Step 7 becomes step 5. Step 4 becomes step 6: once you are done with leveling aspects and class quest, you start the seasonal questline and complete it. After that, you go Helltides, so step 5 becomes step 7. Steps 8-forward are okish. To summarize: new step 4 = acquire any codex you need from dungeons. If you are finished and are not at least 15, do whispers dungeons until you are 15. New step 5 = do your class quest bla bla. New step 6 = do the seasonal questline. New step 7 = Helltide (actual step 5). If you are Necro, skip new step 5 and do it later when you're done with new step 6. I don't think anything "bad" will happen if you start your seasonal questline at level 15-16 instead of level 1. Hope it helps.
Just thinking about being forced to do NM for glyph xp makes me cry. And imagine having to do it again for reroll… OMG. Blizzard shall gives new way to level glyphs.
I'm never one to follow guides or builds. I just go with what is fun and don't really care how efficient I am. That said I find this video very useful as someone that doesn't play every season. It's nice to get a refresher on the various systems and have an idea of what activities yeild to best results to balance against what I like doing the most. I love how to the point all of this info is delivered, thank you for the great content.

I didn’t play a necro this past season . I heard they were pretty busted, so I’m looking forward to playing one even if it’s nerfed or what not. I will mostly play every class this season as long as the gameplay was as fun as it has been.
They weren't busted they were powerful like everything should be.. I've been a minion necro main since Day 1 of the games release and S4 was finally the season minions were able to do anything... I make a necro every season can't wait for Tuesday lol.

I was farming shards last season (multiple characters, iron wolf renown progress to max = uber shard - I used your barb levelling build, then I made some tweaks to it because I had a GF and Shako at lvl 35 by the 5th barb or so). One thing I noticed with an alt that actually went all the way to 100 was: farming Glyph XP with a lvl 100 char, cookie cutter build with the right tempers was way faster compared to lower NMD. And I hate doing NMDs. From the efficiency standpoint, this doesn't make sense, faster is better and NMD events are likely faster. However, if you don't want to be the fastest and you HATE NMDs like I do, you can get all the glyphs doing helltides, use them at lvl 1, then you go straight to NMD 90+ and do 100s back to back. It is fast and you keem NMDs to a minimum. The boss XP nerf might help "bad" builds a lot, so you might be able to do it with a non-GA, non-MW druid in a timely manner (I will test that). This isn't the most efficient thing to do, slow and steady Glyph XP in WT3/4 is better than getting a solid nothing on Helltides but hey, if you don't care about sacrificing some efficiency because NMDs are boring... If you don't hate NMDs and like helltides, I would keep an eye open for Gea Kul Helltides because they used to have more objectives to fuel the tree of whispers and that helps you getting the first millions of gold, so there is that.

Leveling was pretty fast s4 and I was able to craft 3 ubers from it. S5 they've turbo charged leveling so a few builds might fly thru and let you get sparks fast. Gonna be interesting.

You have no idea what you are saying. PoE1 is objectively the best current ARPG by many metrics. Whether you like it or not is a different matter, but D4 is not even close and neither is LE (and that's my favorite of the three)

Helltides are good for starter gear in a new world tier...nightmare dungeons actually give you stuff that you might equip for a while. Edit: It seems absurd not to give the infernal hordes some glyph XP...

Thanks for the info. Honestly, I feel that the leveling pacing was pretty perfect last time, if a tad too fast. I would much rather the profanes x3 have been a loot buff rather than a leveling buff. Leveling should remain at least part of the journey, imo. I really don't want this game to wind up being like D3 where you get your build in 3 hours and spend the rest of the season incrementally improving said build.
lets see i can not get bored before hitting 100. i normally get bored around 60s and end up stopping around 75-80. its crazy because i have no issues maxing out in poe or le.
it's like they (blizzard) realized how massively popular diablo 3's endgame design is and now are applying it to d4, something they should have started with when originally designing diablo 4.
The problem is glyph xp. I got 100 last season while doing nothing else than NMD since reaching t3 and barely able to get 1 glyph to 15. Was on necro though but its horrible to run many more NMD after reaching 100 when you rather want farm summon mats or progress the pit
Next step for blizz may be to redesign NMD and unlock it at lvl1. Players dont care if all or just a selected handful of dungeons per season can be done NMD - get rid of that, set a minimum required dungeons cleared, maybe you can only get keys for dungeons you already cleared (argueable if eternal realm clears affect seasons) that can also open up theory crafting about which dungeons to unlock for speed leveling, per class to increase your chance of specific drops of monster types and so on
Love your content Raxx, youre one of the best complainers that I watch... Did you know, on console, it is still not possible to rearrange/move items in your inventory. It amazes me that no-one complains about this! I get that PC is the main focus here but c'mon, such a basic thing to move and organise items in an RPG. Can you tell your Blizz buddies :D

Would like to have heard your thoughts on when to start fighting endgame bosses for unique items (if that is something you do during the leveling stage). Go after them as soon as you get the summoning materials? Only at WT3 or WT4? Only after reaching a certain level? And how about Tormented Bosses? Is it even worth fighting them? Do they still require 2 Stygian Stones? Look forward to hearing your thoughts on this in your next vid.
@@benjaminghazi787 nope, it's been changed to work from 35 for sacred gear and 55 for ancestral your character's level decides the minimum level of the gear if your lvl 40 character kills a lvl 100 you'll get 925Il with 55Lv requirement
UGH I wasn't going to take the day off because whatever no reason for day one in D4 but your videos just existing with "levelling guide" in the title got me hyped. Screw that financial meeting I don't benefit from being in.
I guess the big unknow here is how big the "rep XP buff" is going to be, might need to grind reputation to get XP buff in there somewhere, but it you get rep in nightmare dungeons I guess that'll tick up "by itself" :)
One thing I noticed and I didn’t hear you mention, I was doing NMD in tier three and when I finished the dungeon I got an onscreen message that you don’t start getting Glyph XP until you are level 50.. I did not know this..
Lots to make the game easier, which I'm fine with, but nothing to make the game better. Except for the inclusion of masterworking/tempering, same game as Season 1.
Raxx actually says to start with the seasonal quest line and then helltides but I missed it the first time since he said it quickly and moved on. Edit- at 7:30
I always try to use a build I don’t plan on using end game or I use the build I plan on using end game even if it struggles so I enjoy the power spike. There is no in between haha

From my experience elemental surge did not work as good for fresh character (i did stack lucky hit yes), might be only works for alts when you already have legendary tempering, I tried on my first hardcore barb in middle of S4 and found damage to close enemies to be better :)
Maxroll changed the tier list without changing any builds mechs. Are they going to update any of the builds for new aspects, chances, etc? They got shepherds on druids builds still, the endgame landslide build is the old trampleslide build not the AK-47 druid, the fireball sorc is just the old fireball build.
Thanks again Raxx. One question: Will the Resplendent Spraks reward still be limited to Helltide in S5? If so, I would keep chosing Helltides over NMD.
the big thing will be helltides or the new dungeons, I am going to start dungons. When they put goblins in helltides last season they threw all drops on them and the helltide drops were shit.maybe they change it back maybe they didn't
I wish they will let you skip class quests at lvl 15 and just give you the boon/skills. The Druid lvl 15 quest is so dull and you have to do a stronghold first.
Nix using nightmare dungeons for leveling the character, only do them if you want to buff your glyphs. Do infernal hordes on tier 1, or tier 2 if you can handle it because monster levels will scale all the way up to 100.
Raxx you missed a step at the start...Go to cosmetic closet and equip a pet

Everything we do after lvl 50 should give us Glyph xp as well running NMD just for the XP is annoying and boring af.

Weapon swap barb is pretty decent for the lunging HOTA+DB barb which I enjoy for leveling. It’s pretty clean and doesn’t rely on a ton of aspects

I’m so confused on how that’s even possible. I started at 60 as well, by the time I was 100, I had 4 glyphs 21, and 3 glyphs 15.

Sorc is the ONLY class in the game that doesn't have resource gain on primary skills. they need to change that.
Question: If a nightmare dudgeon is in hell tide can you use your profane mindcages to up the lvl of the dudgeon?

Would like to have heard your thoughts on when to start fighting endgame bosses for unique items (if that is something you do during the leveling stage). Go after them as soon as you get the summoning materials? Only at WT3 or WT4? Only after reaching a certain level? And how about Tormented Bosses? Is it even worth fighting them? Do they still require 2 Stygian Stones? Look forward to hearing your thoughts on this in your next vid.

Season 4 got rid of my desire for an armory. Now, i just level an alt of the same class for each different build.
imagine level progression goes back to how it was in Diablo 3
don't forget the fact that 90+monsters start dropping max IL stuff too, you can start gearing faster with the mindcages and such
You can’t wear most of that gear until 80.
@@benjaminghazi787 nope, it's been changed to work from 35 for sacred gear and 55 for ancestral your character's level decides the minimum level of the gear if your lvl 40 character kills a lvl 100 you'll get 925Il with 55Lv requirement
I'm glad they made leveling easier. I don't find that grind fun. I much prefer post 100 game play where itemization takes your character to godhood.
UGH I wasn't going to take the day off because whatever no reason for day one in D4 but your videos just existing with "levelling guide" in the title got me hyped. Screw that financial meeting I don't benefit from being in.
I guess the big unknow here is how big the "rep XP buff" is going to be, might need to grind reputation to get XP buff in there somewhere, but it you get rep in nightmare dungeons I guess that'll tick up "by itself" :)
One thing I noticed and I didn’t hear you mention, I was doing NMD in tier three and when I finished the dungeon I got an onscreen message that you don’t start getting Glyph XP until you are level 50.. I did not know this..
I'd love a video showing top New Builds. Like a Tier List of NEW builds. But one can only hope 😂

Lots to make the game easier, which I'm fine with, but nothing to make the game better. Except for the inclusion of masterworking/tempering, same game as Season 1.
Sorcerer will be the best build again followed by rogue, necro, depending which barb and druid build you make not so good.

Didn’t they mention the seasonal progression comes with an XP boost? Seems like it’d be useful to do that early
Raxx actually says to start with the seasonal quest line and then helltides but I missed it the first time since he said it quickly and moved on.

They said they dont want the old school green sets because its too constrictive, but they are doing the exact same thing now they just arent a set.
They way they do it now is not as constrictive as in D3. It's somewhere in the middle.
I always try to use a build I don’t plan on using end game or I use the build I plan on using end game even if it struggles so I enjoy the power spike. There is no in between haha
Chain lightning sorcerer was my first character.

Right now I'm deep into poe and I want to maybe get to lvl 100 for the first time after 4300h
From my experience elemental surge did not work as good for fresh character (i did stack lucky hit yes), might be only works for alts when you already have legendary tempering, I tried on my first hardcore barb in middle of S4 and found damage to close enemies to be better :)
Maxroll changed the tier list without changing any builds mechs. Are they going to update any of the builds for new aspects, chances, etc? They got shepherds on druids builds still, the endgame landslide build is the old trampleslide build not the AK-47 druid, the fireball sorc is just the old fireball build.

Thanks again Raxx. One question: Will the Resplendent Spraks reward still be limited to Helltide in S5? If so, I would keep chosing Helltides over NMD.
I'd say that Rogue will be #1 in Raxx class tier.
the big thing will be helltides or the new dungeons, I am going to start dungons. When they put goblins in helltides last season they threw all drops on them and the helltide drops were shit.maybe they change it back maybe they didn't
I wish they will let you skip class quests at lvl 15 and just give you the boon/skills. The Druid lvl 15 quest is so dull and you have to do a stronghold first.
Question from a newbie: When is the best time to complete de season journey? Right after the campaign/reaching World tier3?

Nix using nightmare dungeons for leveling the character, only do them if you want to buff your glyphs. Do infernal hordes on tier 1, or tier 2 if you can handle it because monster levels will scale all the way up to 100.
PoE has been peak, might be late to the D4 launch. Will likely sit back and wait to see what is busted and start that.
Raxx is the actual G.O.A.T
Rogue will be number one on tier list for sure ;)
