I believe the "dark brown" on Geonosis is actually the red paint primer. That specific pattern only appeared on said planet, which houses their factories, and IRL, paint primer is added before the outer coat, which would make sense if they just rolled off the assembly line.
Definitely very much so gave the 'not quite finished product' vibe - Don't suppose the place making them would care about aesthetics much, save a few credits on the paint job and just send them out immediately, no corporate shenanigans
Actually, if it’s canon, muunilist had those color of b1
no the canon is that its camo.
we see examples of darker brown droids with the officer (like the one windu kills) and other markings (like their individual unit numbers on their backpacks), you wouldn't put those on primers. also there is extensive battle damage on the paint for the movie droids. you wouldn't see that with fresh primer.
the droids are simply the garrison droids for the planet. tan ones are universal/expiditionary while garrisons for major cis worlds got camo.
Always found it funny how they had droids driving the tanks rather than just having the tanks as droids themselves.
In the clone wars there is droid gunship where the gunship/drone is just a droid so they did choose to make it for that but not the tanks for some reason. Maybe droids in tanks look cooler?
@@noobkin6995 Just a thought, no idea if this is canon: They may be pre-droid army (i.e., earlier trade federation) tank designs that were already in production and easy to continue. That would also explain why later designs like the gunships seen in the Clone Wars and RotS are simply droids themselves.
@@noobkin6995 the explanation for that (in universe) is that the separatist army wasn't something the CIS had much time to plan and organize, so the separatists simply bought or rented all the military equipment they could find in the galaxy, they bought droids from Geonosis to be their soldiers, but also bought some ships and tanks from other planets and companies (made to be driven by humans) and so they had to make droids drive those as the CIS had nearly no organic soldiers
@@pparisps5141 that makes sense. Droidekas and Droid starfighters were literally imported from alien species and are made to look like them. Even the B1s vaguely resemble Geonosians. It works as an aesthetic counter by being not speciist and diverse in shape and origin as opposed to the Empire and by extension the Republic going so far as to make a taboo clone army just to have uniform human-species army
If there's anything SW lore is good at, it's backfilling the logic holes with "canon" explanations. That's what happens when the creator has a bunch of ideas but no real plan on how to realize them but makes the movies anyway
Roger Roger
Debatably the most iconic line in the prequel‘s (after hello there)
Edit: one of the most iconic lines in the prequels
@@CreateXComicshe said iconic, not cringe
@@sammakesstuff4176 this is where the fun begins. And also where 1 could use "the ability to speak doesn't make you intelligent"
@@Private.Willie.Stroker those both suck
Don't forget "another happy landing" but still good list dude

After the clones, the Droids were the best characters. 👌
What about jar jar
@@Thunderbug11 Did you mean Darth Jar-Jar
I mean, they were good. In the Phantom Menace at least. After that, they became a massive joke.
@@rainbowblitz9896yeah, especially in the clone wars series they were some of the best comedians
@@rainbowblitz9896 *Did they stutter?*
If I'm not mistaken the pod hunters had orange on them
Orange and dark grey, but a different orange than the Geonosian ones

I like how both the clones and droids have yellow for commanders and red for security..
(Phase 1 yellow clone was commander, and red clones being the corruscant guard)
You could also argue that it's the same for blue since we saw allot of clone pilots wearing blue, but the yellow helmet markings are probably the most iconic cw pilots..
And phase 1 blue clone where lieutenants
Not really.
yellow meaning commander, red meaning captain, blue meaning lieutenant, and green meaning sergeant. However, as the Clone Wars progressed, the colorized markings began to identify the troopers with specific units(phase 2). And other colors, or for example the pilots wearing blue, it was just customized by the clones themself to make them distinguishable from other clones.
@@KAKU_64 no sht?
@@Private.Willie.Stroker wdym, I corrected you xd
@@KAKU_64you basically said: "...and later they changed it to custom for Battalions instead of rank" which he already implied.
"You're welcome.." sass the droid gave to Grevous in Ep3 was my favorite 😄 I'd rather be friends with a droid than a stormtrooper
Pilot b1 droids were also used as metainence personal as well at times.
Gimme that firefighter droid as a legendary in battlefront 2
Had the AAT and Firefighter droid figures in my collection
Red: Security
Blue: Medical
Yellow: Engineering
Oh you said Star _Wars_ , my bad.
Cringe

@@ngrjordi2352 Real.
Sadly true... The attrition lvl in Star Treck crew is just nuts. And make little sense in the shows and movies.
There is so few care for they live that call them sacrificial droid or clone make sense. As sad it is 😢
If going by TOS division colors; Red: Operations/Engineering, Blue: Science/Medical, & Gold: Command
TNG era; Red: command, Blue: Science, teal: medical, & Gold: engineering/operations
Somehow I can't help but think yellow on the B-1 equates to OOM-series
My question is why do commander droids even have yellow marks? Can’t droids just tell who is the commander because they are a literal computer. All the yellow marks probably did was make them a clear priority target for clones
It was probably to distinguish them among the organic commanders, given the fact the commander in one TCW episode pointed out another droid to save his own backside saying; "I'm not the commander. He's the commander!"
Nothing funnier than the droids when it comes to star wars for me. I just now got to play jedi survivor and they are hilarious as always.

I like Mister Bones myself
Firefighter droids have just the same color than our firefighters in reality 💀. Designers rly had no inspiration for this...
Facts 😂
Why change something that work well?
@@013wolfwarrior Cause we don't have the same culture...
@@florianjassogne5385 it's not a culture thing, the colours ahve a function.
@@BehindSpear-throw yep but they could think differently about the meaning and the functions of colors. For exemple, they ( the separatists) consider that yellow is the color to represent commanders. But we (in reality) use rank symbols to distinguish the soldiers from non-commissioned officers and officers... Not colors ! That's a big difference !
You forgot the training paintjob from kamino 🤔
The best B1 series battle droid was OOM-9. That boy was a legend
The firefighter I’m pretty sure is a different type due to the large back packs and small rounded curves where the two point bits on a normal head would be
I have a hunch that the red=security and yellow=commander markings are actually a Star Trek reference. Cause thats what red and yellow uniforms meant in the original Star Trek too
Mr Bones definitely one of my top 5 favorite SW droid ever
The reprogrammed ones working with R2 are just different colour variations of pilot battle droids.
Ogs remember the green battle droid in Star Wars battlefront II in space battles
Firefighter droids are the best ones
Especially with that hose scene in the clone wars show 😂😂😂😂😂 melviance exposed
My favorite were the nasty, oily looking ones you see in Republic Commando. At first glance I thought we’d see them again with the Bedlam Raiders in Jedi Survivor but it turned out those just had a custom paintjob.
I want a battle droid.
The existence of the pilot droid in general is crazy lol
And white color ones are what the clone used when there training for battle
I remember learning about the first four while playing the complete saga (i didnt have the money for lsw i)
I still dont lmfao
Nah.
Red: Assault Droid
Grey camo: Assassin Droid
Yellow: Engineer Droid
Red droids bouta start a civil war with the blue droids
R2's Droids were blue because of the piloting, I think. Not that it mattered, because for the longest time, they weren't questioned
LMAO, I thought the custom blue 501st paint on R2's droids were pilot or scout droids.
They’re so cute
The tank drivers are actually Kashykk droids
I don’t think robots would use a color system. They’d probably use something like QR codes
We need to get the R2 Battle Droid squad in Lego
Weird that they didn't use Security battle droids in the Clone Wars show
Droids painting is more tactical than clones
I am commander
When a cartoon series on CN is more in depth than a multimillionaire decade old company making lore on the same subject💀
Also what happened to the separatist army after episode 3?
What about the camo battle droids?
The tank driver design is just a remix of a kashyyyk battle droid in fact it is a kashyyyk battle droid
kashyyyk droids existed before 2008?
I always found it weird we never see any darker brown droids. It’s the location of a major droid factory right? Wouldn’t we see the darker ones more than just on Geonosis
Still, most of their accomplishments were getting cut in multiple parts, or gunned down, and also repeatedly saying that they understood an order: “Roger.”
Did anyone else learn a lot of these from Lego Star Wars or was it just me?
Is it bad that i know all this without prior researching or actively thinking about it?
What about camo droids?
Were there any smart b1's?
Where’s the rocket B1??
Battle droids look like Borzois
What about battlefront droids
Ok im gonna be so fr if i were a jedi and died at the hands of a battle droid i would be so mad 😭😭
All clankers drop the same regardless of color
Okay, but what do markings of red, black and bones mean?
Instead of the clone wars why not the skittle wars cause we got red green yellow and blue clones and droid
Common knowledge
Its star trek tos rules

WAIT A MINUTE!!!!! Are you telling me race matters? 😕
That marking thing is one of the many bad things the prequels introduced to star wars design.
What about super battle droids?
