Dear Mr. Kamkwamba,
I am indeed watching this, one day on the internet, 14 years after you said it. Thank you for your kind words, your story is truly inspirational!
I love how at the end, he was just standing there, looking around like he was still in disbelief that this happened to him. Just soaking it all in. It made me smile :)
Stories like this should be reminded to our youngsters all the time. This is one of the most inspiring TED talks I've ever seen. Hope this kid is doing better and that he's receiving this well earned and deserved education. Hats off!!!!!!!
The power of education can change an entire community. even if only one individual is educated....on another note, this video deserved more views.
I almost got teared up when everyone stood up and started applauding🥹
I'm watching this 11 years late but it's still inspirational xD
very inspirational
im pretty sure you come here after the movie like me:) i respect this guy a lot so hard to live on his circumstances and we are not even happy with what we got when :s
@Addison (Addie) Lynch they didn't say their age, they just said that they r watching this 11 years later.
@@user-pc6gl6qy3j ooooh i see now lol
also just realized i typed that on the wrong account but i can live
I have a kid in my class who's uncle has made a school in kenya. I read this book in class, and am actually at the end of it, and I have one thing to say to William: you have inspired me to do my best at everything I can and to never give up. If you can do it, so can I. So can all of us.
I just watched the movie and it’s truly inspiring. Well done William!
Me too!!
ditto !
theres a movie?
@@tillitsovercyan215 Yes, it is on Netflix. I think it's called "The kid who harnessed the wind"
Read the book!!!
Wao!!! That's all I can muster. I am close to tears here with William's closing remarks. This is beautiful.
Ït was the future I couldn't accept!" What a wonderful mindset!
His accent is as amazing as his story
Such a great inspiration, i'll tell my friends about your great person, love from Italy 🇮🇹
awww so sad the way others live in suffering. In the usa, we say back in the old days , colonial day, mid century w.e. but those days are still going on in other countries now. Its so sad that in the poorest of countries they have to pay school fees and for uniforms while in the usa our public school is free. Of course, this man is a genius. U can hand those engineer books to me in English and I wouldn't understand. Hopefully he has helped his country, family and self much more than today
About two years I have been watching this amazing young man, I cannot get enough of his remarkable story! Indeed God Bless!
William Kamkwamba has to be one of the most inspiring people on the planet! My hero and idol.
Normally I'm very cynic, and my wife says I'm a sour old man... but honestly, this story really moved me.. it´s inspiring and makes me a better man, I hope it has the same effect on you...
A life example. This message should be heard by anyone who think their dreams are too impossible or unreachable
confidence and optimism is what i have learned, this should be shown to young generation, let us emulate from William.
I stand in awe of this man.
Every time I have a exam or any other struggle in my life that I need to overcome I watch this video. This man did so much with with such few resources. He truly is an inspiration.
This videos gives me the shivers....its beyond my comprehension.

lol he didn't know what to do at the end and gently clapped himself off with a smile
This is the way for Africa, give the tools in books and education, let the locals find the solutions. I love this kid, truly an inspiration for the world.

I just saw the movie on Netflix and now doing research! So inspiring.
I also came here after the movie and it's kind of sad if you think about it, specially when I'm a Tedtalks addict because I found them the perfect place to learn English and learn about stuff.
It's true that this video should have more views as somebody else says.
Usually I do not post comments but this story deserves a long one. Mass media should promote more stories like this, very real and very useful and less of the glossy and gossip stuff

다른 분들 보다는 짧고 어눌한 영어 실력이지만 그래도 나는 이분의 마지막 말씀이 가장 기억에 남는거 같네요👍👍
