    Revisiting this video after 2 years. I have been contemplating to get back to riding motorbikes. Having owned RTR160 for 10+ years, zero breakdowns with 6 digits on the ODO. I was initially disappointed from lack of power and struggling with Honda Hornet, tiny fuel tank that can't even get me from Chennai to Bangalore without hitting reserve and at 150+kgs, it was a few KGS short of Suzuki GSXR1000. Now that 2 years have passed, am yet to see a 200cc bike that bitch slaps a wide happy grin on your face every time your wring the throttle. While TVS may not have done a good job in making a competitive bike with likes of KTM or Bajaj. They surely nailed it riding experience wise. Hopefully soon, I might get one from the used market and work on modifying it to make it at least 10kgs lighter.

    clocked in 9750 kms in just over an year on this, easily cruise at 100-110 without much effort and city ride is as good as it gets peppy fast agile and filters through traffic perfectly. Ns200 might be a better highway bike by a slight margin but this right here is a better overall motorcycle.

    I have this bike it's really really awesome 😎
    It's gives 48 average km/l when I fill the tank fully
    It goes around 500kms when it reaches Trip F (reserve) mode .
    I check the mileage frequently when I goes on long rides nearby 5-6times and I got the same mileage 48-50.9km/l💙 but my crusing speed is 75-85km/hr in highway.
    And braking also very very nice in this bike.
    The headlight range in this bike is nearby 180-200metres on high beam & 50metres in low beam.

    • @arrock188
      @arrock188 Před 2 lety +3

      @@Ahmed-jv7oc my rtr 200 4v bs6(one with riding modes) give 42-44 kmpl city ( not bumper to bumper traffic kinda medium - heavy) and on an NH ride of 120kms ( speed 55-75)gave me 48.4 kmpl. All tests done using full tank method. The best mileage should be when we ride at 4-5k rpm which is under 55kmph. Practically anything in the range of 45-70kmph will give you 40+ mileage on this edition. Apart from speed, riding style is also very important on 200+ cc bikes. Sudden acceleration and braking will take a heavy toll on these bikes. As far as possible we need to be linear with the throttle and the brakes.

    Why they don't offer an optional dual channel abs for the rtr 160?

    Took a test drive of this and the suzuki gixxer 155, went with the suzuki due to better handling and braking. But this bike also top notch considering the price especially for people who like speed. I am a beginner in biking so opted for Gixxer. This has an on road price of 1.67L with double disc and I took the Gixxer with 1.4L. So for only 27k price difference, you would get a host of features extra and of course the power of a 200cc engine. Though, generally TVS engines are less reliable than Japanese brands 3-4 years down the line.

      Hey Arka, thanks for sharing the details. I'm in a similar dilemma and am confused between the Gixxer 250 and Apache 200. The problem is that the showrooms don't allow for an extended test ride here in Kolkata. Did you face the same during your purchase process?

      @@soumyas111 Hi, Gixxer 250 is priced considerably higher than RTR 200. Gixxer 250 SF has an on road price of around 2.2L while RTR 200 is 1.6L.
      The Gixxer is better obviously in terms of looks and reliability but the RTR gives a better value for money.

      Even in 2023 the Gixxer feels better than rtr 1604v...something makes the Gixxer feel great
