    SG, Best G. Also. The best upgrades for an SG are a roller tune o matic bridge, a string butler, high ratio locking tuners, and a graphite nut. Makes it feel nicer to play and bend notes, and stay in tune better.

    • @applesauceblues6952
      @applesauceblues6952 Před 2 měsíci

      Roller bridges are okay but if you're heavy handed they're not worth it at all. You'll just constantly knock the strings off the bridge

    Squier has improved their quality but not as much as Epiphone has with the latest Gibson buyout (from 2019-ish). Gobson owns Epiphone, and Epi really has substantially increased the quality and the value for the price, their guitars really do feel and play amazing. If you find the sound lacks, a simple pickup upgrade should be all you really need!

      They're so good, I think the crappy pickups have always been there on purpose, especially nowadays anyone can find very decent pups for $30. Otherwise most wouldn't hear the difference with the Gibson.

    I played a gold Epiphone SG (Trad Pro) in my local guitar store. I smile to myself because it was the least likely color I'd ever choose. After picking it up and playing it five times in five visits I realized that I had to have it. It's comfortable, it sounds great , and it just feels right. Glad I bought it! Hope you love yours for years to come!

    I want to Guitar Center a couple years ago to buy a new Mexican Thunder I really wanted to Thunder I do a love it work to myself touch it up but there was no lacquer on the next at all they were absorbing and contracting through moisture and humidity and stuff the front wires were the worst I've ever seen they felt like galvanized b******* they were not smooth and they were sticking out the edges of neck real sharp and it was nightmare I wouldn't picked up that SG just played out that same one the school has and I ain't had much money 43 100 some odd Bucks at Guitar Center that was deep Best Buy and 1 because the front wires were absolutely invisible that has the smoothest neck I've ever played the front wires are like like so smooth down on the sides it's just unbelievable and the gifts inversion might be a little nicer but I feel little nicer but it sounded a little nicer was really not that much of a difference this is 1 of the best guitars you ever get I like up a phone they last Gibson Is better but not by much .

      Look into a guitarist named Frank Marino who uses 61 Gibson Les Paul SGs with the factory Lear tremolo on them because on his 1978 Frank Marino and Mahogany Rush live album he does Johny be good with his SG . That whole live album is good with some Jimmy Hendrix purple haze on it and the doors keep your eyes on the road and your hands on the wheel . The guitar solo Electric Reflections of war is out of this world and is still one of my favorite live guitar solos ever . This guy using 3&4 fingers on this solo makes Eddie Van Halen when he taps with 2 hands sound slow . I like Eddie's style and sound but I like that Frank can play the blues hard rock or a fusion of jazz and rock or jazz and blues or he can shread with the best of them and also does psychedelic music so give him a listen because if you've never heard of him I think you will see that he's a very good guitar player that was self taught . He has some videos on CZcams here of him trying out some effects in his home studio the pig tronics boost pedal and something else I can't remember made by them . He also builds his own amplifiers and effects pedals now I see that are on his Facebook page and there is also some footage of him a long time ago live on stage and there is a video of guys like Pat Travers Joe Bohnomasa and late blues guitarist Johny Winter and Zach Wylde who is influenced by Frank Marino that are on this CZcams video of Franks live DVD and Blu-ray live at the Agora Theatre which I bought the box set of this and each DVD is 3 hours long so 9 hours of live show out of 12 hours that the show was originally recorded that Frank says he will edit the rest of it at some point and release it .

    Disagree The epiphione SG is heavy the neck is wider then the squier so it’s harder for beginners they constantly go out of tune. They sound muddy not crisp clean like single coils 🤷‍♂️ however I love the design classic fret board

    First, congratulations! Epiphone has been on the rise for the past few years whereas Gibson’s has not…. Other than the name on the head stock, I don’t think you’re gonna find $1000 worth of difference between the two.. there will be a difference at resale time, again simply for the name… So here’s my 10 cents worth…. If you plan on keeping it forever, get the Epiphone and buy a decent hard case. If on the other hand, you foresee yourself selling the guitar in the future, buy the Gibson… it will come with a hard case ……. and retain its value much better than the Epiphone.

    This is the SG400 one of epiphone's few that is this kept the same as the Gibson SGS Semi-Pro phone as G's are not perfectly shaped like a Gibson SG Tsar they have to have a Gibson approved pretty much know yours if several Epiphone models various shapes that are more of the gifts and approve style the g400 here is one of them.

    Squiers (classic vibe series) are so much superior and outplay any epiphone is not even debatable on the same price range. The strat even beats the SG at tuning since you can individually adjust every string's action unlike the bridge on a stop tail like the sg or les paul

      But it's better to have something that's a quality guitar where the neck is set up to play more easily using light gauge strings and a nice low action makes for a much easier playing guitar to start learning on because strings that are too heavy and are to high off the neck makes it much more difficult to play and learning to play proficiently .

    Hey girl I have owned over 30 guitars and over 20 basis at all the same time. A B rating so pretty much everything I own for years and years and I've tried pretty much every piece of guitar equipment out there and that is one fine guitar that is one of epiphone's few guitars that is the exact same as a Gibson. It's just a little bit cheaper wood whatever some Epiphone SG are not very good they don't look very good they're not shaved is perfect this when you have here I have on once is one of a few epiphone's that is truly built like an actual Gibson. But there are also some Epiphone Les Paul's Epiphone Flying V Epiphone Destroyer these copies of Gibson guitars the first Les Paul was actually an epiphone the real Les Paul soldiers invention to Bonin and they sold their first electric guitar designs to Gibson when they started making Electrics Advance Auto that guy started and still to this day the Les Paul SG the Destroyer those kind of guitars her Eternal war with the Stratocaster type of qatar's which I do love a good strap but these ssg's are awesome and this girl she's got us to perfect as Jesus is the g400s is a fantastic instrument is a lot different versions and types of this and this is definitely one of the best I don't have the money for Gibson I live in America but I don't work that great of a job so I'm poor so I had to go with that before most of the time life I want a black beauty Les Paul. That's $10,000 for the Gibson bad weather has been eight hundred on the Epiphone get a custom or an ultra one of these amazing there's also an SG you're out right now throughout the phone I think it's called the prophecy and it looks like a whole new beautiful see-through blue transparent paint jobs beautiful fucking instrument Divine other SG check out that Epiphone SG on CZcams look at all the different models that are the SG Prophecy from Epiphone is just amazing to look at brand-new super-powerful Fishman pickups it's a whole new type of energy from Epiphone you won't believe it it looks like it was made by someone else is fantastic.
