- Today’s video is all about our children’s first day in an Ethiopian private school in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We also went and bought a few more pieces of furniture for the house.

Me too 🥰
It's nice the kids like their school. Love the coffee table
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing
Happy 1st day!
Thank you!
Are the school days there about the same amount of hours as the US?
It’s about the same. At my children’s school, they get an hour for lunch where in the US they only had 30 minutes. So their day here is about 30 minutes longer, but they are happier with the longer food and play time.
Do your kids speak Amharic? My concern is that my kids don’t speak Amharic and wondering if they will be able to attend regular school in Ethiopia. Or if they have to go to international schools.
My kids did not come here speaking Amharic, but they are learning. Your children would do perfectly well in a local private school. It doesn’t have to be international.
@@princesslivingfree thank you very much Princess! I will definitely email you once I move to Ethiopia. You are amazing and very helpful!
@@mitudesalegn8117 Aw, thanks so much 🥰.
It is wonderful they like their school and make new friends, how are you doing in Addis? my mother is telling me their are bad people who is snatching phone; to me that isn't city I grow up and when I told my mom about me moving back people aren't hanging up together as they used to I just need hope from point of view of who knows USA and lives in Addis now hoping to hear from you.
We are happy here in Addis. Of course, there are challenges here, no different from anywhere else around the world. However, here in Ethiopia, it is much easier to build a community and feel connected to other people than in the USA. I love the sense of community I get from living in Ethiopia. The USA feels more like a fake living experience to me.
P.S. In my 13 years of living in and visiting Ethiopia (back and forth including now) I have never had a phone stolen. You just have to be very vigilant about what you have and your surroundings. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
Thank you ❤ we are living exactly how you explained, in real time there is no connection her but isolation, I love the street of ethiopia filled by human soul seeing that makes me feel love and humanity are existenced in real way while i am preparing to get out here soon Approaching you princess!
Wow I just read ps portion of it I think there is fear if I move to ethiopia certain income will be lost for my ethiopian family thereby I am getting feed back of fears not to move to ethiopia; I am going to grind what I need to do to start over in ethiopia in order to answer my calling not just for me but for others.
@@oreobaddie9 Yes, you have to do what you are called to do without letting anyone stop you. I agree that grinding and saving as much as you can is a good plan.
Have blessed time looking forward for next video.
Were you advised that KG attendance was mandatory?
Yes, I was told by the school that is Ethiopian law.
My 4 year old daughter in Addis for now is not attending KG.
She has a
personal tutor who attends to create a more formal learning environment for her English twice a week.
I'm not aware of home-schooling being taboo in Addis or if it's basically just entirely illegal.
I guess for me it's just about finding the balance between following my instincts whilst also compromising to let the opinions of others shape my choices.
It's difficult but I'm sure everything will be fine.
I’m sure it will be fine. As long as she can read and write by the time she starts school, you should be good 😊
