I live in Toronto. In the 90s I was introduced to Gary Millers audio lectures by a friend who converted from Sikh to Muslim. I have a collection of CDs of his lectures and my learning journey about Islam started from there. I was born in a Muslim family and wasn't really a practicing Muslim. I learned more from Gary Millers lectures about Islam than from any other source. His lectures lead me to Ahmed Deedat lectures and then Zakir Naik lectures and many others and now your good self :). Learning a lot from your mesmerizing voice. Gary Miller use to hold small group lectures in University of Toronto where my friends use to go. Apparently as you mentioned he just suddenly went silent about 15 to 20 years ago. I still listen to his audio lectures though. So much information he packs in an hour lecture.

@@charlievaughan1308 Here is your logic then. Something that is earned always gives more pleasure. We can even see this in day to day life. A kid of a rich person who owns everything he wants just because his family bought it for him wouldn't really know the value of these things and probably would never be content with them. On the contrary a person who had to work for everything he owns would appreciate them far more and be able to enjoy them, knowing what he went through to obtain them.
God has given us the chance to earn our prize and therefore have the ability to enjoy it thanks to the free will he has bestowed upon us. There are creation that live in heaven without having to earn it or go through any hardship to get there. They are called angels. But the thing is they do not have free will and just do what God tells them so they are void of pleasure due to the same reason explained above.
Yes God could have given us free will and also just put us heaven but why should he? God gives to his creation what ever he wants. He gave the angles paradise but no free will and he gave humans a trail to go through but free will to enjoy good results. The satisfaction of earning something is what he has granted us.
Now that's our logic, you could agree with it or you could not. It doesn't change the fact that our beliefs can be logically understood whilst most beliefs in other religions cannot, for example 1+1+1=1.
I would love to hear what you believe in and see if you can stand behind your beliefs with logic?

@@BloggingTheology Brother Paul, it's true that the Qu'ran and the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) did not confirm Cyrus the Great's status as a Messiah as mentioned by Prophet Isaiah. The Qu'ran does not even mention Isaiah as a Prophet by name. Surely Allah says in the Qu'ran that He did not mention all the Prophets by name. For day, Prophet Uzaer was not mentioned by name in Sura Bakara (Chapter 2).
But many Muslim scholars interprete that Zulqarnain/ Dhul-Qarnayn (means- The bearer of two horns or two Kingdoms Persia and Media) mentioned in Sura Kahf (Chapter 18) could be the Cyrus the Great. As a monotheist he was a blessed one. He built a dam in the Daryal Gorge that lies in the Caucasus Mountains, near the city of Tiflis, capital of Georgia, and this dam is related to the End Time prophesies on releasing Gog and Magog according to Sura Kahf.
According to Hadiths, those asking the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about Dhul-Qarnayn were either the Jews themselves or the Qurayish with the encouragement of the Jews, trying to put him on the spot with a hard question and prove that he isn't a Prophet. And that is why Allah says in Sura Kahf: “And they ask you of Dhul-Qarnayn”. “Indeed We had granted him power in the land and given him the means to all things.” (verse 84).
Sheikh Imran Nazar Hosein did interprete the verses regarding this person who was traveling towards the Dead Sea and the Black Sea also.
In the 19th century, when a statue of Cyrus was discovered near the river of “Morghab” (an 850km long river in Central Asia), depicting him with two spread wings like those of an eagle, and a crown with two horns like those of a ram, Muslim scholars came up with new interpretations of those verses.
It is said that a group of German scientists travelled all the way to Iran just to see this statue, which is a great specimen and sample of ancient stone-carving. After comparing traits mentioned in the Holy Book with those seen in the statue, these historians reached a conclusion about why Cyrus was called Dhul-Qarnayn (The bearer of two horns), and also why his statue had wings like those of an eagle.
All of these clues led to the interpretation about who Dhul-Qarnayn was in history (Cyrus the Great).

You've developed a wonderful platform of varying views and ideas. Small doses into the intricacies of the sacred text and commentary. A wonderful collection of quotes from different contributors.
I've often wondered why the Children of Israel remained a rather small group. Although like the Muslims they are a nation of martyrs. But they never became a light onto the nations. If they had shined the Sacred Words. Who were the Babylonians to attack them. Believers would have marched from India to attempt to save them and the Blessed Temple. St Paul attempted with his interpretation to open salvation to non Jews. But his followers became Trinitarian Christians. I do feel you're a little hard on St Paul. You Paul shine the light of Muhammad of whom be peace. You are an excellent example of his way. Bless you and your channel with success

I've become one of your subscribers recently. You definitely deserve more. Btw, who is the person in your profile picture?

The profile picture features Thomas Aquinas (died 1274) who was an Italian philosopher, Catholic priest, and Doctor of the Church. An immensely influential philosopher and theologian in the tradition of scholasticism he was the foremost classical proponent of natural theology and the father of Thomism. His influence on Western thought is considerable, and much of modern philosophy developed or opposed his ideas, particularly in the areas of ethics, natural law, metaphysics, and political theory.
I admire his extraordinary intellect and theological brilliance though I do not agree with his Trinitarianism.

I have watched one of his debates where he shared a stage with Ahmed Deedat (May Allah have mercy in his soul) I can't quite remember where it was, I believe it was somewhere in India, it was held out in the open. Back in 1978 I believe, and nothing from him since, yes about 6 or 7 years ago, there were few videos about him on CZcams, but recently there are practically none.

My apologies if I've got wrong information, but I recently heard Dr Gary Miller's name for the first time in a youtube video, but I remember it was mentioned he passed away, some time ago😔 actually. Maybe if people are indicating a FB page, it's worth checking if its a fan page? I hope i heard wrong, and I wish he's alive. 💚
