You’re not wearing the Alpine loop properly. You have it on backwards.
I got the blue Ocean Band with my Apple Ultra 2 watch and like having it for water-sports and such. For general use I am using the Pitaka carbon fiber which I like very much and find lighter in weight and more comfortable. There are some reviews out there of the pros and cons of the later, but I have not had it long enough. Thanks for the video.
I’m thinking of upgrading my Apple Watch this year to an Apple Watch Ultra but wasn’t sure what strap to choose… you explained this so well and in detail with the pros and cons for each of them… I’ve made up my mind… Trail Loop it is.. thanx for an awesome video 👍🏻
This is most helpful, great content! Thanks!
White Ocean Band for me as I regularly use the AU2 in the gym and live in a hot humid climate - sweat a ton. The Ocean Band works best with the amount of sweat and definitely does not get dirty. Super happy with the Ocean Band which is very comfortable.
for me too. the ocean orange is a bit too flashy for my taste and blue doesn't match all colours. White is just more discrete.
I have just bought an Apple Watch Ultra for Christmas and came across this video. Thanks for such an enjoyable and informative video I have just subbed 👍🏻
Keep it up man, great video
Thank you, this helps 🙂
Thank you for the best video about this subject Sir. Lots of considerations made I had not seen anywhere else. Keep up the good work

Thanks! Best video about this.
Thanks Safwaan, great video! I'm going for trail loop and I'm wondering what size should I go for. I have ~165mm wrist and both sizes S/M (130-180mm) and M/L (145-220mm) would fit. What could be your recommendation, S/M or M/L?
Nice reviews, thank you.
The Alpine Loop is comfortable but wow...it gets grubby FAST!!
I regularly find the hook on the alpine loop making contact with the watch ‘bezel’ and screen, particularly if I take my watch off a bit too hastily. I’m pretty sure I’ve got a few ‘dings’ on my watch case as a result. It’s avoidable, but still something to consider.
Thanks. You helped me deciding which strap to get.
ocean band is my favorite
Also for sleep tracking ?
Which color is ur ocean band?
I feel like even though apple didn’t say, the series one ocean bands are different than the series 2 ocean bands. I felt the series 2 bands were easier to put on and off especially when pulling the excess through the metal clasp
I have the oranges ocean and it’s a tad garish wish I got the sage alpine
What u mean?@@robwarden3418
What a perfect video! You helped to not only make a choice which band type is good, also what color👍🏼
brilliant video, thanks
Nice vid man.. subbed
Best video!! Thanx for sharing!!!
👍👍👍 perfect info thankyou
So should u size up the alpine loop to prevent from scratching? Is the g hook suppose to be on the side of ur wrist not bottom ?
The Ocean Band in Yellow color is awesome to wear everyday. I wear my Watch Ultra since Oct 2022 with this one. It is so comfortable and it looks so well on the Watch Ultra.
Nice review. Thanks. Just subscribed 😀
wow subscribed thanks for the video
This was such an informative and to-the-point video!! You pointed out so many features I didnt even consider like the typing with the alpine loop. Amazing video!!
I opted for the white ocean band. I thought the alpine and trail bands felt a bit flimsy and were not a good match for the size of the Ultra 2. I find the ocean band better if you are active and sweat is not a problem since the rubber is easy to clean. I also found the ocean band the most comfortable of the 3.
What u think of the indigo alpine loop comparing to the orange ocean band which one looks better?
Good review, well edited 👍 I’ve got ultra 2 with blue and orange ocean bands. I believe you’ve got the titanium spring loaded loop incorrectly installed. See 1:34. I’ve got mine set up for the loop to be permanently fixed to the upper band, then you tuck in the end of the lower band into it. You shouldn’t have to disengage the spring loaded loop, each time you take off the watch. I might invest in a trail loop off the back of your review. Thanks
That’s how you’re supposed to do it
Super video, TY!
Which size is your alpine loop??, I have a very similar wrist size and I would like to know which size to get for the alpine
I just got my Apple ultra 2 on Wednesday and I love the ocean blue band it definitely fits but I am getting the rugged band look
Thank you for this comparison. I will surely solve most of the problems of many. If you are not 100% satisfied with the bands of the Apple Watch Ultra / Ultra 2, I recommend the sport bands of the Apple Watch classics 45mm. Merry Chrismas for all :)
I ordered a orange/ biege trail loop, hope it’s the best.
How big around are your wrists? I will be getting the Ultra soon and I'm worried its gonna be too big and look stoopid as Im a man with really thin wrists...
I like the Trail Loop, it’s the most comfortable for me.
Will my milinese loop and sport loop from my 42mm Series 2 Apple Watch work with an Apple Watch Ultra 49mm or even the series 9 45mm?? I’m considering upgrading from my stainless steel series 2 to a new watch…
Great video
1:35 are you taking the titanium strap keeper off in order to remove the strap on the ocean band? That isn't necessary.
What size that you bought for ocean band? Please let me know. Thankyou.
If my wrists size is 165 cm what size should I choose for alpine loop?
I like my ocean band but it is way too short for my wrists, I only have 2 holes left at the end of the strap that barely fit under the keeper.
Great video, Safwaan! Hope all is well! Still remember when you were at 1k subscribers. Congrats on crossing 10k!
Thank you bro! 🤝
Muito obrigado pelo video, me ajudou muito.
I have a sport loop on my watch and I surf, swim or exercise with it every day and I have no issues with it in the water... it dries pretty quick. My last watch was an apple watch 4 which lasted 5 years and i maybe went through 2 sport loops total in that duration after heavy daily use... definitely the most comfortable for me
you say you like the black/blue trail loop best but I honestly think the orange/grey trail loop looks best, especially, after seeing you wear it in other videos! nice vids, peace man.
orange ocean band is gorgeous
I remember many years ago buying a hook & loop fabric watch band !! Eventually the thing really started to pong.
Why would you take the loop off every time you unfasten the watch ?
1:46 that's my favorite shot
Naturally
Nice comparison
Thanks bro
Excellent review. Struggling to work out the difference between the straps, trail loop for me based on your review. Thanks
Trail loop is my favorite. But I suggest regular silicone straps that are meant for non-Ultra Apple Watch. You can get tons of colors (originals and third party as well) and they supremely comfortable.
I noticed that your wrist size is almost identical to mine. What Alpine loop size do you have? I have an L and on my wrist (158mm) it goes all the way to the last hook and is still slightly loose. I'm thinking of getting another one but not sure if I should get the M or L size.
Mine was M
Ocean orange band my favourite
Ocean Band Orange and Yellow.
The ocean band is too small for some people. To fit properly, I would need to buy an extension separately, and that's absurd: I have to use my watch literally on the last hole of the band that comes with it. Switched for the Alpine Loop.
Trail strap deteriorates with time especially if you live somewhere warm, sweat just wears it out. There are also very good non apple straps out there, try Spigen for example.
Bro what why do u take the little loop off the ocean band every time you unlatch it?? Just keep the loop in the hole and slide the band out and in. So much simpler
I go with trail loop. One, it’s like the sport’s loop. Which I love, and second, it’s the easiest to put on
easiest to steal off your wrist too
@@Charlottecars ?
You are wearing your alpine loop wrong. The hook goes up. Switch your top and bottom bands so you pull the strap from the bottom.
Fair enough, the G-hook still lands in the same place under the wrist though
It would help if you turned the Alpine loop around... so that the hook would be on the inside of the wrist. If you do that, all the issues you brought up are mitigated.
but then don't you get the buckle in the way on your wrist?
Southwick is correct. He beat me to it. Your using the buckle incorrectly. It goes on the main band and you set it once. Never open it again.
is salt water not to aggressive for the ultra 2
It can handle salt water just fine. I’m sure there’s other more researched videos that can verify it in more detail if my assurance isn’t enough
I am new to apple products, switched this year to phone and watch after years of using different android phones and watches and what is fascinating to me is how majority of people are not complaining about the type, quality, feeling and at the end pure impression of apple watch straps that you get of of the box. They are simply bad, with samsung and huawei which I used prior to apple watch your initial strap is far better in quality and visual impression. And with this 1000 € watch you get, well simply cheap looking strap that is inconvenient if you have to take it off on a daily basis.
Trail Loop, I have one, dark grey and orange from . too flimsy for my taste.
Do u think it’s worth it to buy all 3 band from Apple ?
It’s like having three cars on the driveway. You can only drive one at a time. And each car is better suited for different types of journeys. Or you go with one practical car and use it for everything.
The answer to your question depends on the person.
@@Safwaan so which band and color do u think it’s the best beside the trail loop?
Great video @Safwaan - Question, where can we buy the straps only? and how much?
They’re usually available from the Apple Store but depends on the country you’re from
I bought one of them alpine loop band (Not Apple), it clips in place but it slides just a little bit. Do the alpine loop from Apple does the same or does it stay in place?
Trail loop 🐐
I’ve been wearing and have tried every genuine Apple watch band and my personal favorites are: the Braided Solo Loop (just make sure you get the right size), the Ultra Trail Loop and the discontinued Nike Sport Band. The Alpine Loop and the Ocean band are both too bulky and a truly a hassle to wear and annoying to adjust and re-adjust- I seriously wouldn’t recommend them.
New band ... I think some company (if not Apple) will offer an adapter so the old bands can still be used with the new band connection... that could be EVERY band company.
Alpine loop is my favourite 🥰🥰🥰🥰
For 3rd party, Nomad white sport band and Nomad titanium band *chefs kiss*
As well as the Alpine loop, but my least favourite is the ocean band. I think it’s the most uncomfortable band ever it leaves marks on my wrist
Me personally really like alpine loop they all unique I’m not a huge fan of the ocean band
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
Ocean Band Features
Alpine Loop Durability
Trail Loop Comfort
Made with HARPA AI
the alpine loop looks like the band on some old undies
trail loop for the win
Titanium is strong but picks up a lot of scratches in general, just the nature of the material.
For me the ocean is the best! Is water proof and doesn't get as dirty! And waaay durable !
one thing you forgot to mention is, the velcro kills the band after months!!! This kills the usefulness
This video was probably super expensive each band goes for 50 to 100 dollars 😭 thank you for the review though
so trail and alpine are no good if you want to shower with it on?
They’re made from fabric so will stay wet for a long time after you finish showering
Can’t believe you were taking the movable titanium clip off the ocean band to get the watch on and off - it’s designed to just be sized to your wrist, put in place ONCE, and you just slip the lose end of the strap under it 🤦🏻. “Hardest to remove” !?
Sure you can keep the titanium clip attached, remove the spring-loaded top and slide the band out then remove it from the buckle. But that’s still the hardest band to remove out the three.
So I'm finally upgrading from my Watch 8 to an Ultra... I hope they don't make a black version for the Watch X this year otherwise I'll be sad..lol... I think a black version would be the best...
Spent many hours to get a sense of the differences. Now I got them all (lucky me): most confortable to sleep with it for instance, to get the exact tension: Trail (but the ugliest IMO, and wear off easily), the most orginal: Alpine, techy, but a pain to put one and off, like it quite a lot and the Ocean, most robust, good flex, nice look, but bulkier and heavier most resistant. Apple did a great job at... having them complement one an other so you would have to buy them lol. on my end, I bought them second hand, so price reasonable. Day to day : trail (because I track my sleep) then I switch between ocean and Alpine
Woo! Team trail loop
Team Trail loop because it’s the most comfortable band ever and why is nobody talking about it
A Sub for such useful video
Esse pessoal é sempre de esquerda
ALWAYS invest in a watch face cover !! Always. They are cheap and will save your watch. Pack of 4 for like AUD$14
Sheesh there’s AMBAND from Amazon, $20 and comes with 2 screen protectors
There’s so many aftermarket band options to choose from
Hate my ocean band. Horrible putting the watch on with all those grooves.
I hate the way the band locks at the end
Like if you're from the webinar!
In November 2023, no one may have worn those straps for a year and a half. It is commented twice in the video.
1 year 2 months*
Sorry for those who like the ocean bed
Titanium by nature is extremely sprung to scratch. You can scratch that shit put it in your pocket.
Who else thinks that all of the Apple bands are from mediocre to terrible level considering all the factors?
No.
ocean FTW
🖕🤣
The ugliest design ever!!! As if it was chopped by an ax
Squared corners like the iPhones and iPads
Jesus Christ love you
