  • drsteiger.com Lymphatic drainage is often performed after facial plastic surgery procedures. This facial lymphatic drainage will help reduce the swelling and inflammation of your face and help you heal quicker. Many facelift surgery, eyelid surgery, laser surgery, and even filler patients will have several of these lymphatic massages to expedite healing. Our licensed aesthetician explains how to perform the lymphatic drainage on yourself. This can help your healing. As always, having a lymphatic drainage by a professional who has the best equipment and knowledge will yield the best results. One of the biggest keys here is a VERY soft touch. This will help direct all of the fluid into your lymphatic system to help your body eliminate it faster.

    This is the first video I found that has left my face stimulated after doing the exercises. I blindly allowed a doctor from the U of M to help me and was put on heavy does of Prednizone, which left me swollen and unhealthy. I got off it in April, it is now October and my swollen face is not yet back to normal. I feel these exercises will help me get back to normal.
    And on top of this I have been looking for a lymphnotic massage in Hollywood, FL or Hallandale, as I do not drive it has to be local.
    If you know of anyone in this area please let me know. Thanks so much.
    And I will follow up once my face gets back to normal.

      I’m in the U.K. & have been put on several courses of prednisolone - which I’m assuming is the same medication but with a slightly different name here. I had no idea it causes facial swelling & wondered why I had this ‘moon face’ all of a sudden! I hope you have managed to resolve yours. I have just found this video & am hopeful for positive results from it. All the best 💖

    One of my dear elders had a stroke the other day. Her voice is closed off. I massaged her recently and under her neck on Both sides were swollen. I have a feeling that she needs lymph drainage. She's into accupressure and reflexology. She very coherent. I want to talk to her about this and show her you'r video. I want to know what do honestly you think about my plan of action? Taking to her. If she agrees we will start if she wants to give it a try.

  • @roseannarios7312
    @roseannarios7312 Před rokem +4

    I have several health problems including nerve problems in my head and face which cause a lot of swelling. I have a gua sha tool and found it incredibly effective but then saw your video and thought I'd try it out. The movements are very similar except you use the tool to pull your forehead and neck upwards and you don't go down your neck and in front of your collar bone after each stroke. I know for lymphatic drainage one is to always go in the direction of the heart, in this case downward motions in order to flush out fluid and toxins .
    Would you mind giving me your thoughts on the gua sha method vs. the lymphatic drainage technique? Do you think it makes a difference if we use a tool or our hands? Also, it seems to take me forever to do this. I still used my gua sha tool for your video. Approximately how long should it take to complete. I am naturally terribly heavy handed which I was trying to be cognizant of but know I accidentally still was. I know it slowed me down some. I'm always super cautious around my eyes but is it bad if I accidentally use a heavier hand? Lastly, I know where wrinkles are concerned we always want to use an upward motion. Since we're pulling down the skin on our neck so much, will it cause unnecessary wrinkling?

    • @sizzlinglizzi1345
      @sizzlinglizzi1345 Před rokem +5

      I think it is important to distinguish between the gua sha which is a tool for massaging the muscles and the jade roller which is for moving lymph . So yes, the gua sha is used with an upward motion on the neck with quite firm pressure because you are targetting the muscles . The jade roller , on the other hand , is used with very light pressure to move the lymph and therefore can be used very lightly - feather light - down the neck without ''dragging '' the muscles down . I tend to use them at separate times of day , one in the morning and one at night .Different tools for 2 different functions , I hope you are getting better from your health problems .

    • @LucaAnamaria
      @LucaAnamaria Před 4 měsíci

      Apply an oil before you use any tool on your face otherwise yes you will be at risk of developing wrinkles. A heavy hand is not needed for lymphatic drainage as lymph is very receptive to a gentle touch.
