Let's be real. The best hair goes to Dana with his well kept beard
They all have the same haircut just at various lengths
the famous "a little bit more on top" haircut
I’m just glad I wasn’t the only one to notice
Dana's hair is dominant. There's no question at all. 💛
The beard counts ay
I have a golgari walkers deck led by tevesh szat and kodama. playing 2 walkers a turn with kodama is hilarious value and it's also an amazing blocker for the walkers with the 6/6 reach. all it takes is 1 or 2 turns of double walkers from kodama and the lead the deck creates is almost impossible to come back from for the rest of the pod
My Muldrotha deck runs a few of the WAR Walkers and Nissa. No skin off my back if they get attacked down. Muldrotha brings them right back to do it again.
The dad jokes, sass, and puns were on point this week.
No electricity puns this week? I’m shocked. Then again, their batteries were probably drained and they need to recharge so things don’t get too static.
That's a very positive way to look at it, I was negative towards but I think I've changed my mind
@@conlanrichichi2328 so then ... what is your current opinion? ^^
@@Morrodin182 I'm not exactly sure but I think that I've gotten on the same wavelength with these puns
Yeah, I learned the hard way that Ghostly Prison doesn't keep my Estrid safe.
Still love how you’re organized in beard order
I think the Thousand-Year Elixir thing is also in because it essentially lets your mana dorks tap right away for mana, which is always nice to have
Haste to all the mana dorks, untap Lathril after combat having made many elves, untap Priest of Titania type elves... thousand year elixir is gross
The entire cast has great hair but Joey's swoosh reigns supreme.
My Atraxa Walkers Deck runs an obnoxious 30+ Planeswalkers, and is the one deck my friends will fight each other over to play with when we get together every month. They may not be the most powerful, but you cannot deny how fun and popular they are among casual players.
I'm building one rn myself
Joey best hair, sorry Matt
I am really surprised Vorinclex does not register as a superfriends commander. That commander is brutal with planeswalkers
I like Vampire Hexmage as recur-able, single target planeswalker removal.
Yeah the Hexmage is pretty versatile :) I like her a lot also
Rings is a amazing card good call
Time to work my new Narset Superfriends deck oh hey EDHREC uploaded a new video
Throne of Geth also works well with fast mana rocks such as Mana Crypt/Vault can get rid of them before they cause too much damage
perfect timing for this video to drop :D I'm currently building an Atraxa Superfriends deck :D
I like thematic walkers. Serra is in every iteration of my angel tribal deck (currently WB), Calix and Niko are in my Tuvasa deck and RIX Huatli is in my Rienne deck
If haircuts were Strixhaven colleges: Dana=Witherbloom, Joey=Silverquill, Matt=Lorehold
I will usually run at least one planswalker in my decks if it fits the theme or has good utility. The most I have is three in my Grolnok deck which has lab man Jace, WAR Tamiyo (which are common for their static abilities) and Wrenn and Seven for the graveyard dump and ramp. I have zero plans on ulting any of them since I just use them for their abilities. :)
For some upping the average, Pramikon, Sky Rampart is a great Superfriends commander due to significantly limiting the combat-removal PW hate.
"Gosh," said Spike Weaver, "I wonder how someone who proliferates a lot could protect all those planeswalkers from combat damage. It's a real mystery."
For the CTS Matt brought up, I'd even go as far as to play some of the green spells that untap all your creatures.
Vitalize
Mobilize
Benefactor's Draught
Quest for Renewal
(Etcetera)
I run an Aminatou Cedh deck. It's include some of the "salty" Walkers, like Ashiok and Narset and is mostly control, a little blink and combo kill for wincon
Hey, my challenge made it on :P that's awesome :)
I play martyr's bond in elenda, and it does some work, especially with treasures to destroy opponents artifacts
Most boros players should be running more walkers. Reusable card advantage in a color very limited in it's card advantage engines is nothing to scoff at.
Winota and feather are the two I'd probably skip out on, but in pretty much everything else Nahiri the Harbinger, Chandra ToD, Jaya Ballard, Elspeth Tirel/Knight-Errant/Sun's Champion are all worth running.
I have a Sigarda enchantment deck and I can say Calix does work in it lol
I think commander players underrate planeswalkers in general. You can often get a walker to last at least 1 rotation of the table and if you do you, you are essentially double or triple spelling on your next turn. Also walkers will draw out combat damage that might have been going to your face instead often giving you a slight tempo boost just for existing. I think any walker which creates token bodies to protect itself should be looked at in commander especially in the 5 and under cmc range.
ohh btw planeswalkers if you play zacama as commander ugin, the spirit dragon is a beast. its a lock xD
you mostly need more recources removing ugin to break the lock, but at the same time, you controll what stays at the board as long its not a instand or sorcery xD
Shoutout to the Prismatic Bridge, I believe Esika will be at least the second most popular superfriends commander in no time.
I run 20 walkers in Atraxa and Carth the Lion and 15 walkers in Queen Marchesa.
Dana has always been best hair of the podcast.
I run most of the walkers in those top ten lists in a good % of the decks that I run walkers. Of the 24 decks I have I think have walkers in more than half, I have anywhere from 15 to 1 walkers.
I am still really happy with my prerelease promo Immortal Sun and the normal Immortal Sun I opened in one of the prize boosters
I have a Pramikon super friends deck aka Wall of the Spark lol. Wall tribal/super friends, and Whirlwind of thought does some serious work. But then again that’s in Jeskai colors.
You should do a whole "Rattlesnake" -type cards episode. Big psychological aspect! thx in advance
I always forget Tezzret of the bridge gives planeswalkers Affinity for Artifact. That seems relevant
Easiest ultimate of my life: Ajani Strength of the pride in my heal deck. One sided board wipe of creatures and artifacts for 0 loyalty. Easy to have 55 life, but makes me the arch nemesis immediately
I'm not saying that Matt's haircut is not great. But just look at Joey's, it's not even fair.
I currently have 29 planeswalkers in my Atraxa deck.
My Mardu Planeswalker deck is brutal. Negan is my commander and the only other creatures in it are Mila and Peacekeeper. All removal and Planeswalkers.
HAHAHAH!
Joey Gasping! 🤣
Matt's hair is definitely the best
I think the chainveil is in most euperfriebds deck worse than oath of teferi, by quite a lot. So the chain veil becomes just a combo piece, or a flavor inclusion or you run both effects. Especially in Golos superfriends, oath of teferi seems an auto include to me, also in sissay as it is legendary.
I feel like Prop. and Prison are run in planeswalker decks mostly to protect yourself. You are going to be light on actual creatures for blockers, and I'd much rather lose my PW than lose the game due to not having enough blockers.
Watching this after mh2, can't wait to put some of these in my carth deck
Norns annex i love it
My breya deck us almost super friends
I've got 11 walkers in it. It's just become an amalgam of dumb cards rather than artifacts
I like Dana's approach. Sort of. I don't have to tell you immediately. Pain teaches.
I have gotten and will continue to get hate for it, but... Board wipes are a Super Friends best friend when you use some of the real nasty ones like Jokulhaups, Catastrophe, and Obliterate. Nothing more efficient than being that troll that has a few planeswalkers on the board (maybe even a Windgrace or Wrenn and Six), resolving Jokulhaups, and watching all opponents struggle to do anything while you continue to do work with your planeswalkers.
I'm reasonably sure Thousand year elixir is in elf decks to untap priest of titania and elvish archdruid.
I've ulted Daretti a fair number of times just by ramp and turtling.
Joey wins best hair
I vote for Dana’s hair as the king
Also... Dana has the best hair.
Tamiyo from war of the spark needs more love
Vorinclex says hello.
Just notice how many of the top 10 walkers are from war of the spark.
Yeah, and they made up the entire top 7 in percentages. Mostly because they have the passive, so they are easier to build towards synergy
A Duel to Death for the "The Hair" title!!!
So a duel to become hair to the throne then?
Please tell you EDHREC has a Nicol Bolas theme filter.
Ya, Atraxa populates
Ok...
When you all play Commander on Twitch you need to make a hair icon to give to whomever is the Monarch during the game.
I used to play a muldrotha superfriends, I could easily reanimate them and I have a combo so I can get the ultimate very often, so my friend don't know if attack me or my walkers... then atraxa get cheaper and I kill that deck
The dream with Elixir and Lathril includes a detour by way of Seedborn Muse.
I still agree with Matt, though: Elixir is meh in Lathril.
My votes for dana hair and beard combo
Idk who Femmtg is but the fact that they didn't go with FEMtg makes me sad lol
You'd need to do a commander game where you build a deck round a Commander with an interesting or awesome Hairdo, the game will be in homage to British Band Haircut 100 to determine the HAIRarchy of the EDHRec Team.
dodd1979
You both have sexy hair, there is no crown to be given
The crown was the hair we coiffed along the way.
GOOD GUY MATT… learned how to troll… he said Populate instead of Proliferate!!! Because he only cares about making tokens
I have a huge soft spot for Vela and artifacts so I scrambled to find Dana's deck. Then I saw that price tag for the deck. I guess I will pass on that one.
Settle the score is massively underplayed. I run it in my superfriends decks and my Lilianna HH decks, and it always stuns ppl when i can ult 2 turns early.
Who needs to goad when you can just say everyone attack to the left or right? No love for Pramikon this episode 😢
I think Dana's hair is better.
No mention of vampire hex mage or hex parasite??
Also I vote for Matt
Can you guys time stamp passed the dad jokes? I don't mind listening to the plugs after.
Edit: And thank you to Joey for modeling how to pronounce niche. I hope Dana remembers it sounds like Knee-ssh.
Marry me Joey
Re-release quandrix apprentice as Izzet or Borros or Azorius, it would be a staple.
Dana that why your teeth are so white you must have amazing insurance. Or you have some dirt on your dentist?
True story, I get so bored at the dentist I tend to fall asleep in the chair. I feel asleep during a root canal last year.
@@danaroach29 relatable lol
no karn talk makes me sad
