For those not in the know, the Thunderchild is the name of the steam powered Torpedo Ram in War of the Worlds that is basically the only piece of humanitys military arsenal that defeats the tripods. It Guns down one, rams a second and just as it's about to sink it sails into a third and detonates the ammo storage causing both to go up in a roar of flames.
I really think HM Navy should have given a real ship that name; it's so classically British, a great name, and has real historical value.

Christie was the guy who developed the Christie suspension, which the US army didn't find to be interesting, but the Soviets were happy to adopt it.
And that spawned the BT tanks and their absurd speed
Regarding Arnie, sometimes you can retrain the pre-assigned skills. Sometimes all the pre-assigned skills are locked. It just depends on how WG sets it up.

If they're locked, they're zero-perks/skills, which is actually insanely good if there's multiple of them. But there's only one or two crew members in the entire game with two zero-skills/perks, so more would be really nice to have, but Arnold doesn't seem to have more than one.
Back when Defender was the most(only) op tier 8 tank... I miss good old days...

i bought my is3 just before last years event and got the t10 right after. this event was fucking crazy with how fast i was able to research tanks.

122TM has a ridiculously high winrate because Alpha is king in this game. That said, the best players can dominate more with a Bourrasque and a Progetto than with the 122TM
122 TM is just what happens when u sacrifice DPM for much better gun performance and with the win rate it has, it goes to show that it works. They’re two very different tanks but IMO the 122 TM is better strictly because of the alpha it has
That surprised me as well, but a skilled player can make a low dpm tank work too. The progetto, the skorpion, the SU-130 are sort of idiotproof.

@@tannerangstadt7082 Well I meant that in a sence that everyone can do reasonable amount of damage with it, not that its indestructible. Mobility also trumps armor a lot of times, bc heavy tanks could be surrounded, but medium tanks can flee in time.
can we just take a moment to appreciate how beautiful WoT graphics have gotten? after watching QBs old replays he posted the other day it really shows how far WoT has come
Beautiful graphics? I see them as just performance hogs and hard drive/update clutter. 3D skins that is ridiculous (like piles of crap on the tanks) or just fantasy in a WW tank game.
But performance quite good and even if networking have some problems but the gameplay works very well for a "free" game. Even high ping players have a chance. Runs quite well all around.
It is like TF2. Ruined by crap that tanks performance. Really to give WG credit about graphics is a joke. The corners are cut sharp and only there to make tank pixels easier to sell. For a game where some players run at lowest settings just to get 30fps. But really with a good rig you can max out the graphics and still have really good FPS and response. But agen the corners are cut very much to make that happen. But since 90% of the player base can not even reach max settings they are fine. But nothing epic/magic.
GTA5 for Xbox360/PS4 or just plain TF2 is so much more impressive graphics/look wise. WoT back in the day ran bad but the graphics was not why we played the game. It was the tanks and history of WW.
@@TheDiner50 idk what rust bucket you have for a pc but i run at max setting at 2k res and stay above 100 fps without frame stutters. im only using 1060 as well.

Nah. Last event drop were better cause it didn't reset whenever you get a tank. Like even after 50 draws, you get a tank whether you already got one, two or none

I guess the chances to get 122 tm or skoda t56 is higher then the caliban, tornvagn and yo tank...
i don't want to defend the Wargaming but I think this boxes are not gambling. A true gambling means you pay X amount of money and you can get zero items (loss everything) or win something valuable which could worth more than the original purchase price. Here - with these boxes - the situation is completely different! the buyer technically purchases 250 gold but, on top of the gold can get extra bonus content. The worst situation is you buy 250 gold and you get 250 gold. Better situation if you get some extra gold or premium tank. So where is the "trap", where is the "trick"? Nowhere... and WG isn't force anybody to purchase any boxes, to purchase gold. Btw you can buy gold during the whole year, but during this special timeframe you can get more - not just 250 gold.

Missed chance Wargaming, but hopefully next year. This year's changes are great and give me hope they will implement something like "post-battle-gifting" next year.
would be nice to be able to do something like that in every game like give a player that helped you a "like" something like rating but you get it when other players feel you deserve it and not for beeing in the top of the team or something would be nice

A Garage slot will also be added."

Been a subscriber of yours for several years now QB and rarely comment however just wanted to say "thank you" for all your hard work and excellent videos. Really enjoy your tank reviews and watching you play! Have learned a lot from you! I do have one question for you and any of your subscribers who would like to chime in. My question is when is the best time to switch from using battle xp for accelerated crew training to using the xp for field modifications? For example when all your tank crew has 3 skills fully trained or 4 skills or ... ? I thank you in advance for replying to my question, QB, and keep up the great work! :)

Did you know that Arnie owns a tank in real life, I think it is a M47 Patton, and you can buy a ride in a tank with him
As you are not guaranteed to receive a decoration on the small boxes it will be much more difficult to get your credit % up. yes they showed a box with 500 shards but in the video it showed 1500 shards as the price for a specific type of shard... this probably means it will be 500-750 shards per decoration. So overall I'm guessing getting that credit booster up will not be straight forward.
THE CREDITS BOOST THIS YEAR IS NERFED!!!
To get the full +50%credits you need to get to lvl 10, get all large decorations BUT you also need to get 65 items from every collection (which there is 70 items per collection) so expect about 35-40% credits max if you are F2P and even if you are P2W you will strugle to get to 50%
This is if the extra credits calculator on the page is working well
I love how they said it doesn't have any weak spots just to make fun of people who were rightfully mad at the defender or the Type 5
i hate how powercreep wot is, you can even pen type 5 with tier 8 gold and its sad honestly

They tested that Bad Luck Prevention mechanic with the WT E100 event and the ASTRON Rex.
Also QB, they added those low tiers on super test a few months ago.

Honestly they have a mechanic where you are guaranteed a tier 8 premium after 50 boxes. If you are spending that much you should be able to select the premium you want. But WG wouldn't do that, would they?
They won't for sure as they want you to buy more large boxes!
Like bruh when its random its random then the matchmaker will be full of T56 I cant say that wargaming dont want that because clearly they want to crush f2p players but still you can buy it in shop or calendar afterwards
I think that for someone like me who loves the game and occasionally spends money on it . I think that if kids my age (16) want to spend some money for a chance to get a new premium tank then they should lower the amount of times you have to open boxes to 40 and they should increase the chances from to 3-3.5%

5:53, Yohs looks like an T57 heavy smashed between two Maus, the WoT Blitz (Wot but mobile) had them, the Tier X one had 2 guns, one 105mm with 3 Shells autoloader with it give 350 per shot and another 120mm gun with 2 Shells autoloader with 450 Damage each
Really like the idea of giving gifts to randoms in battle! that would of been awesome. I also wish WG would in general give us an option to say "Sorry" to one another in the same way we can ask for help (SOS)

Question about the Yoh tanks... I know the reserve track and main track share the same rear drive wheel, but do they have separate hit point pools, the same hp pool, or an increased but combined hp pool? When you try taking out that rear drive wheel, do you have to effectively take out two HP worth of tracks, and do they come off together or does one break first?

QB a tech tree showcase on K-91 would be amazing with focus on the gems in that line like the A-44 i think it is overdue
I actually hadn't struggled for shards in previous years as a F2P. You just need to be efficient with the LHD.

Okay, the new vehicles are sweet, I will love getting them. The new styles are nice too. I see that getting those low teir tanks will be nice too. The best will be getting the gold and credits as it will be useful when it comes to the black market when it comes in January or February next year, assuming they keep to the timeline!
I totally agree QB the 122 TM is amazing and I don’t really want to play against more of them lol.
i got the 60tp skin last year and it incentivized me (along with a vid or two from QB) to play the game a bit more to unlock the actual tank to use the skin. I'd more than likely be a sucker for purchasing skins from a storefront for tanks i own/want than i would be for dropping money on loot boxes for that 'chance' to get them, something WG should really think about imo.
The large boxes have always been the best value for gold/prem time every year, hopefully that stays the same this year!
When you've got over 300dl days of prem time, getting more always feels like a kick in the nuts tho.
I guess ill be settling for the small boxes again just like the previous years.
I always enjoy you commentary. You understand the ture nature of WoT. I do understand the short comings of this game But, I have put so much time into the game I don't want to give it up.
I'm Belgian so no loot boxes for me as every year and I'm proud about it ! I've already 5 or 6 (non OP premium) tanks so I don't need more and I'll not put more money in the game until lots of things will be rebalanced (will never happened yes I know) but I'm ready to face the invasion of broken vehicles in the MM, I'll face it without gold and still be better than 80% of them. Anyway, Holiday season is pretty fun to play so it's still possible to enjoy it for everyone and that's great.

I've been playing WoT since open beta but being well into my 50s now I've found my reflexes etc have slowed a bit the last few years so I'm mainly playing tier 5 and 6 now. Just a question then on the boxes, if you're not really wanting tier 8 tanks, am I better just buying gold, or do the boxes still provide value for money even if I rarely use any tier 8 prems I get from them?

Am super happy about the simultaneous missions, my job is really unpredictable, 8-9 hours is my norm…but can be I work a couple weeks in a row, and 14-18 hour days, of we’re super busy and all goes to hell. I’ve missed a ton of things, just cause of life, but mainly work, and sucks when you can’t finish stuff.

I like all of the 3D styles for this Holiday Ops. Some of the past styles have been a bit much with the oversized AA guns. But the "realistic" styles this time actually *are* realistic, while the FV4005 style is just hilarious.
I believe you get multiple missions for Arnie a day, so you should be able to get him earlier than QB thought
I think there is a huge weakness around gun manlet , between outside shield and the gun . I saw on 3 D model . Please share experience. I can't afford loot box but I need to know weak spot to kill it.
I opened 3 lootboxes last year and got the double barrel and the Italian medium
TYPE 59.....Give us game play from back in the day when the TYPE 59 ruled. Lets face it, at one time, we all dreaded seeing a TYPE 59 on the other side. Rock on QB
I was really waiting to see your reaction to the Steam FV4005 and it was worth the wait.
Probably stick to my usual plan and buy 75 boxes right at the start of the event. Getting one of the new premiums would be good.
I am running low on gold but thanks to other events my premium time is still over 450 days so don't need more.
Some of the lower tiers look fun.
I guess maybe I should add some friends I think I have 3 but only one of them still active in the game its just something I don't do that much.
This year I am buying the last remaining tier 9 and 10 tanks and its a little bit of a disappointment its 20% not 30% its ok Ill get the credits back over the Holiday ops period.

Can’t wait to get the festive lvl maxed out, and then stack boosters on top of that. I think I went through two tech tree lines in one week, and banked several million credits while doing it.
Credit farming is amazing in this period. Own boosts, clan boosters, platoonboost and eventboosts! Let the grind to 100 mil for black market begin :D

nah i dont think bofors is meta. to slow and not enough burst damage/dpm for this meta. its like an t-34/löwe on crack
I really want the Caliban.. I've been wanting it for so long, but I am not about to try and get it when I could use the same amount of money to have the same chance of winning the lottery.
Bofors just have 280 turret armor, its slow, bad dispersion, no DPM no armor without ridgeline
@@jakub7777 it has best in class penetration just like the t34, so close range dpm isnt that bad but as you said, rest is bad
Also, the Bofors has 25mm of armor on the entire top.
Will sure be fun being hit by arty for 900+ each time lol.
I want the Caliban too for the memes. None of the tanks are "good" apart from the Bofors being situational.

It's not legal in Belgium though, sadly because these crates are good value with or without extra rewards, which is unlike most lootboxes.

No same chance for all of them but you can't get the same style twice
So if I'm reading correctly, if I buy 34X3 boxes and open them until January 8, I will get 2 premium tanks tier 8 for sure?
qb could you feature the old OI-exp for me. i played with my dad back when i first got my account in 2016 and i remember needing a new heavy. and i never knew how to pen the japanese ones, so i grinded for them and had a blast in the oi-exp when it could go 40kph

I havent played WoT since world of warships came out, my PC was struggling then to play Wot on decent settings, but I've now got a new one... Is it worth re-installing and playing again after about 6 years out of the game?

I always miss something on these events. My question is does the counter reset when you get a low tier premium or just the tier 8 ones. I kinda skimmed through it, but I didnt hear you mention the 50 loot box counter feature, if you dont get a tier 8 it spits one out, like the astron rex event.
at the 50th box you will get a tier VIII if you haven't received one yet. If you receive one at box 25, you will receive another one at 75th (if you havent had one inbetween).
In Aisa server , they say every 49 large box with no gold tank you'll get a "new" tier VIII tank next box (for 8:25)
And we also have low tier tank introduce (for 9:44) (not details)

I wish you could do more of the old tech tree tier 7-10 tank guides ,the likes of tiger and IS .. Ect since many features have been added recently , it would be quite helpful to show how to play them.
