Vettel winning his first WDC definitely is one of my favourites. Hope he has a good season this year, seeing as he's going to retire...☹️

Vettel coming back in brazil to win the championship!
when you pushed Lewis of the track so Max could win the Spanish gp in 2016😉

This “How to master” series is your best idea, please keep it going.

My best f1 memory is Nico Hulkenberg’s podium time on his f1 return at the 2020 British Grand Prix . ( well this aged well) 😂
Would love that
If you get this right, mate....... EPIC

You guys jinxed the F out of it - He will DNF now sadly, i really hope not.
Bottas furiously taking notes right now tryna figure out how to beat Hamilton too
not his fault his tire blew up
Yeah just crash into him and blow his tire off. Worked for Rosberg, although sometimes it affected him as well.
Nico and bottas are not the same beast
The fact that I got it recommended now is really interesting
I guess youtube too watches F1 and Lewis to watch it lol
Indeed
I love how Nico is so gentle and clean when he is explaining everything but the moment he starts to play he is cursing and is so competitive as if he forgot he was filming and that it was just a game 😭🤣🤣
He is really good person
Well, of course. Downshifting instead of opening the DRS is a costly mistake which simply shouldn't happen at this level. Every thousandth of a second matters. :) in real life it's even more intense.
The phrase “it’s just a game” is such a weak mindset. You are ok with what happened, losing, imperfection of a craft. When you stop getting angry after losing, you’ve lost twice.

That's so cool your father worked for red bull. Is he still working for red bull?
The reason they not got any world titles since then is cause your dad left

Two things;
1. Never realized how complicated this sport is.
2. Nico is a genius

Rosberg left F1 in his prime years to play computer games in his man cave.
He left because he knew it was his last
I'd love to be doing what Nico does on this CZcams channel. For your information he has shown a ton of insights of racing sport, skills how to drive that no one has really done it before. You should be thankful to see this how to get done from an actual formula 1 champion who actually did race in Silverstone.
@@gerothewill1448 Agreed!
@@saturninomonteiro884
I doubt that that is true.
He had just won why wouldn't he think he could win again.
They all think they can win, even the ones that can't. Bit Nico could.
I wish he would have stayed to keep Lewis more honest than Valtteri can.
@@gerothewill1448
Agreed, absolutely.
It would be hilarious if Nico Hulkenberg were to finally get on the podium this weekend but then lose it again because the FIA decides that the Racing Point is not legal.
That would be so depressing
That cant happen, Alpha tauri is a copy, also the hass cars with ferraris FULL packs...
@@nostalben1367 alpha tauri is not an exact copy but the racing point is the exact copy of 2019 mercedes
Well ferraris engine wasn't legal and they got all their podiums and victories so why wouldn't racing point.
I know it has no context to your comment but hulkenberg should replace Grosjean in hass
Anyway these are the BEST track explanations I've ever seen. Everyone does it whilst running full speed and they're not able to say everything about every single corner, Nico instead stops and explains very well. Love it!

Best F1 Memory: Michael Schuhmachers emotional breakdown at the press conference, after he tied Sennas record. Still gives me chills till this day…
7:22 @Lewis Hamilton, that was Max’s corner
I’m really really enjoying this track “tutorial”. It makes watching the race and on boards a lot more fun bcs I can see where drivers are making mistakes and all which keeps me engrossed in the race. Can’t wait for the Spanish GP “tutorial”. Keep it up!
Oh im sure Nico has much to say about Catalunya, that was no "racing incident" in 2016.

Senna winning his home grand prix and hearing his screams after he won. His gearbox was broking and had to keep the car in 6th gear which caused him to be injured after the race(he was taken to the podium by the medical car) That has to be the most iconic memory of F1. RiP Ayrton!
how was he injured?
@@rickran35 The tremendous struggle of trying to keep the car under control, caused him to have muscle cramps and fever. After stopping his car, Senna was almost unable to move on his own. He had to be lifted bodily from the car due to exhaustion and driven to the podium in the medical car. He was barely able to lift the trophy even at the end!
Yeah he was just tensing up so much it ruined his neck. Also, if I remember correctly, I don’t think he was only in 6th gear but he certainly lost at least the first few gears. He was super human for still managing to drive to a win like that!
@@FerrariF108 he started losing the gears one by one and by the and he only had the 6th gear left

MARCH 28, 1993: I was 6 years old. By that time I already liked cars a lot and it's hard to describe what F1 Sundays used to be in Brazil back in the day. There was so much hope, pride and joy among the whole country to support Senna. It was like a world cup game... there were no differences, just everyone cheering as one. I didn't understand much about F1 or how the rain would affect it, but I do remember my dad yelling at the TV between beers. I also remember Senna's Theme (which was called the victory theme in Brazilian TV) when the race ended. I saw the crowd rushing into the track and carrying Senna in their arms. My parents kissed each other while cheering. I didn't know exactly what was happening, but I knew that its was pure happiness. I know we all miss Senna, but for me its hard to put in words how briefly and deeply was his influence over me. RIP Ayrton.
When Kimis car stopped in monaco and he just went straight to his yacht.
I'm not saying this because it's your channel, but my best F1 memory is of when you won 2016. It was so intense because the title wasn't decided until the very last lap and corner, I remember my heart was pumping as fast as a hummingbird, and then I had never felt so much joy from an F1 event as you crossed that finish line and secured the title. Last time I felt near that emotion was when Kimi won 2007, but your title far surpassed it.
My favourite F1 memory has to be when the red bull mechanics swapped the parts on Webber and Sebs cars, and didn’t tell Mark. Mark finds out and responds by dominating the race and winning comfortably. The iconic “not bad for a number 2 driver” is the icing on the cake
Well he only won because seb got a puncture at T1 after Hamilton touched him

Those were the first two races I watched since I was a kid. Absolutely my favourite too.
I agree, even if it was done with an illegal engine 😏
Purely down to illegal engine.Even if it's Singapore you could rule out but spa , Monza blasted down the straight with illegal power.
I would love to see you collaborate with other drivers (especially on their home tracks) and get their strategy on the track analysis and see if they line up with yours.
I dont think current drivers would give away their strategies, but if you meant past drivers then yeh that will be good.
Button seems pretty handy at this kind of thing, Nico should see if he can get him on and get his analysis of the tracks. Can't tell you how keen I would be for that 💯
It wouldn’t be to different tactically, they have to adjust tactics to the car that’s where the changes would be.
@@08crewea On the whole, true. Some drivers do have little sublties in attack, board position, etc.
Joshua Snyder I guess they will have a tactic for attacking the car in front and defending from a car behind which would also be different for each driver, it’s usually the part where you get to see the drivers personality come out.
My favorite F1 memory is Interlagos 1991. It was my first time in the grandstand. And I was gifted by our brazilian master... with his McLaren v12 loosing gears finishing with only 6th gear. That changed my life.

Favorite F1 memory: Kimi passing Fisichella in the last lap to take the 2005 Japanese Grand Prix after starting from 17th on the grid, just a scintillating move.
Thank You Nico for the Tutorial. I like how every corner is explained in depth which helps me understand why I should place my car at those points :)
Yeah always important to know why you do these things. Really helps to improve on every track not just the one he makes the tutorial on.

My favourite F1 memory: Hearing the national anthem of my country in the streets of Monte Carlo when Juan Montoya won the Monaco GP
2018 Melbourne GP. Because it was my first F1 race I attended and to be around thousands of people who share the same love of motorsports was something I’ll never forget.
My favourite F1 memory is Monza 2019... I was at the Autodromo for the first time in my life, in the morning there was a heavy rain, I had no umbrella and it was very cold... but Charles' victory made me forget everything, it was one of the biggest experiences in my life
I had a similar experience at Interlagos (Brazil) 2019. Never been to a GP in my life, and I was rewarded with one of the best races of the season. I literally was crying seing Gasly's drag race to the line.

I honestly appreciate Nico for doing this! Love how he got so serious on his hot lap!
I love this series! The commentary always talks about what drivers are doing, but it's great to hear it directly from a driver themselves, moment-to-moment, what to consider when on the track. It's also wonderful hearing about how to control the car and all of the small details regarding the steering at high speeds, when to go onto the kerb and when not to, how far the breaking zone for the corner is, etc.
Holy moly what a time to be into sim racing - literally an F1 world champion walking you through a track guide. Awesome stuff - thanks Nico and thumbs up on the cause too !
my favourite memory: The Hulk getting on the podium for Racing Point after losing his seat in f1 for 2020
(I'm confident, wishing it into existence)
Well with that P13 or 14, don't remember now, you failed miserably :D
Yeah I'm old.... I remember when Niko's dad Keke did a monster lap in the Williams Honda during qualifying on the old Silverstone track averaging 160mph/257kph.
My favorite F1 memory is when I attended the Detroit Grand Prix in the mid 80s. The sights and sounds of the Turbocharged cars. Fire belching, backfiring engines reverberating off of the buildings of Motown. The smells were intoxicating. I remember seeing your dad retiring from the race, jumping out of the car walking through the crowd smoking a cigarette. Memories!
It was so cool back in those days.
I even got to tour through the Paddock in the basement of Cobo Hall. Back before everything became so top secret between the teams.
I’m newer to the sport so my favorite memory was Checo Perez battle back from last to first in his final season with racing point. Such an amazing way to end his long run with them and I’m excited to watch his ferocity alongside Max with Red Bull this year
My favorite F1 memory is Schumacher vs Coulthard in Spa 98. Schumi on three wheels back to the pit plus the boxing match in the garage ;-)
that event was more interesting than the last 20 years f1
My favourite memory of F1 was when Schumacher cried passing one of Senna's records in a press conference and couldn't speak then his rival Mika ended up consoling and getting too emotional to speak and Ralf got interviewed shows how hard rivals can be friendly and one
Yes, please keep this going. Fantastic.. Not just the in-depth verbal analysis we get, but the overall body language and hand gestures that describes every corner and how the car works and reacts.
When I was a child, I remember my father watching James Hunt on TV. I was too young to know who James was, didn't realize it till many years later. it is my favorite because it was time spent with my father, who died when I was 12. You have a great channel here Nico, I think very highly of you. I have only just now found it. Thank you for being here.
Thanks Nico, you teach what I always wished to learn: the minute nitty gritties of actually driving an F1 car. Greatly admire your passion for the sport.

Question: In your opinion, what is the difference between the Codemasters F1 game and the Mercedes F1 simulator? Is there similar feel in how the cars drive? Love the series by the way!!!
Never been on the Mercedes sim but as a general with proper racing sims the car reacts more like the car and obviously because your strapped in they simulate some forces as well as you can actually “feel” the grip of the car the wheel gives a natural amount of feeling for grip.
Cmon man, codemasters games are so arcade its hilarious. The cars slide through corners its very unrealistic
J G F1 drivers themselves have said that the game isn’t Super different from real life
Codemasters physics isnt that accurate, f1 2020 is an arcade game, not a simulator
In the F1 games don't simulate load transfer well. this is why there's never corner-entry oversteer, and breaking/lifting mid corner may help by reducing speed but you don't feel the front 'bite'. This is also why there's a lot of understeer (what would be corner entry oversteer becomes understeer), and people say the car feels like a hovercraft. This is a deliberate decision, as load transferring can be very punishing for gamepad players. Gran Turismo has somewhat similar problems.
I'm not sure if you've addressed this, but will there be a sit down or podcast between you and Lewis (or even a book from both POV) during ur time from 2013-2016 to show the same events from different perspectives? I understand things are complicated but it would be amazing to hear!
Hey Nico!
Thank you so much for doing these analysis videos! I’ve followed your channel for a while and love all your stuff but these are my favorite videos you’ve ever done!!! One of my best friends got me into sim racing and f1 about a year ago and I’m obsessed. I’m absolutely horrendous at this game haha and I’ve been looking for learning resources to get better and these videos are the best!! As much as I love the sim racers on CZcams and twitch none of them actually break down how to drive a track nearly as good as this. My favorite F1 memory is my (recent) first GP at Interlagos 2019. I've always been a F1 fan, but never attended the actual race. I was rewarded not only by an amazing weekend, but with a lot of new friends that shared my excitement with the sport and motorsports. I attended every session and every day, from when the gates opened until they closed.
Sunday's race was one of the best days of my life. I was sitted at the end of the "Reta oposta" and saw more action that day than I could ever hope for. I saw K Mag Spun, Verstappen fighting lewis, Gasly defending 2nd place with his life, Charles Ferrari soaring pass without a tire ,and all the intense safety car restarts.
The cherry on top was the fact that I've always been a Valtterri fan, and I really hoped to see him perform well. By a matter of fate he retired his car right in front of where I was sitted. Although it was painful to watch him retire, I could see my favorite driver up close.

Weird one for me, but it's actually been the ability to see more into who the drivers really are during the pandemic (like you, Lando Norris, Charles Leclerc, George Russell, and several others getting on board with CZcams/Twitch). wrong corner. Copse. Max needed to back off. Instead he cut into Lewis thinking he can bully people off the track like he ALWAYS does. Not this time baby.
Copse is a flat out corner. Lewis opted for a low entry to try and overtake. He understeered and didn’t keep his car tight enough to the inside. Max had the optimal corner entry and his car was ahead of Hamilton’s. That’s why Hamilton made contact with Max’s right rear wheel. Hamilton made the error
@@streamingeagle1 Tbere are people who think that Max cut into Hamilton and then there are people who understand racing.
@@dunkyg understanding bullying, yes
My best f1 memory was Gasly beating Lewis for 2nd because after the year he had it just showed he hadn't lost anything
I love motorsports enough to know that when a professional driver gives you tips, you listen. This is an incredibly well-done lap breakdown, and it helps me understand what an F1 driver's mind is doing during a lap.
Also it's great to see you put in a hot lap, I like watching drivers when they turn on the concentration. It isn't always obvious to me that not everyone knows how to go fast around race tracks, but once it becomes a passion, a driver always has that same stone-faced look of intense concentration when they're ready to go fast.
Looking forward to a lot more of these in the future! This video earned you a subscriber!
This is amazing! What a fantastic insight into what it takes to get the most out of a car/track, how to use the tools available to the drivers and what effect they have on the car.
Favourite F1 memory is the 1999 Austrailian GP. I'd got into the sport the year before and I was full of excitement for the new season to start. I set an alarm to get up so I didn't miss one minute of the live TV coverage. I still have vivid memories of on-board footage from Ralph Schumacher's car during the race with the sunlight glinting off the grooves within the tyres. The grooved tyre, V10 era is still to be bettered in my opinion.
