Al Jackson, Jr. was the greatest drummer to ever walk the earth. After his passing, Booker, Duck, & Cropper had Willie Hall who is so technically perfect, almost machine like & Jackson’s protégée. They played with the powerhouse and versatile Anton Figg and most often played with Steve Potts, whose resume speaks for itself, but also happens to be Al Jackson’s cousin. Just have to pay big respect to Danny Gottlieb here!
Reminds me of the early '60s I had five aunts and when they babysat me we dance to this and I heard this around them along with the Beatles and other classics had to share😮
O my, so it is!!! This is my signature tune. I told my daughter that this is what is to be played in my funeral. I want to meet eternity with Green Onions! Everytime I babysit for my granddaughter I play Green Onions for her:-)
Duck Dunn is one of the greatest. As a bassist myself I can tell you, while it sounds simple, it’s incredibly difficult to do what he does. The Spirit, The Drive, The Love, The Verve, all come through.
I could never get tired of this 1962 classic from Booker T. & the MG's! I play it all the time, nonstop. But judging by this live concert, this has to be from the late 1980's to the early 1990's?
José Trepat (Disc jockey) Sin duda, el mejor grupo de musica "soul- rhytm & blues" que he visto en mi vida. Sencillamente espectacular. Booker T. Jones. Donald "Pato" Duck Stevie Crooper Steinberg
A little trivia. Booker T Jones played Green Onions on a Hammond M-3 on the original recording that we all came to know and love. Most people think it was a Hammond B-3.
As the Blues Brothers said you've got your Bach and your Beethoven and you've got your Booker T and the MGs. Steve Cropper is the greatest guitarist ever.
STAX Records put out some of the best music ever! Booker T. and his group did most of the background for their records and people loved the STAX sound. Sadly, the last management, along with Isaac Hayes' problems finally shut the doors on this great studio for good. The management just tried to expand the company far beyond it's capabilities and forgot the beginnings that made it what it was. I don't fully blame the demise of STAX on Hayes but he played a major part in the closing of the studio.
This band is tight. Booker T is a Legend. Reminds me of back home with catfish and green onions on the grill. I need to know, is that Mac Davis on the drums??? Sure does look like him.
Real musicians playing real instruments; there's nothing to dislike about this!
this has to be in the top 5 of the greatest songs ever written
Todd Victorson ya I totally second you on that

Have had it as my phone ringtone for 20 years now, magnificent tune.

Here's to the Duck. May he lay down that killer back beat in the great beyond for ever more. RIP.
Reminds me of the early '60s I had five aunts and when they babysat me we dance to this and I heard this around them along with the Beatles and other classics had to share😮

The boys finish hard... Rare 👌💪💪

I could never get tired of this 1962 classic from Booker T. & the MG's! I play it all the time, nonstop. But judging by this live concert, this has to be from the late 1980's to the early 1990's?

Well I am glad that has been finally cleared up! :-)
I read an interview that it was a C3 that he still owns.
Stax Museum owns the M-3 he played on Green Onions. It is on display encased in an acrylic box in the studio.
