I think Buddy Whittington deserves a big mention as well. Saw him live twice and never failed to amaze.
Absolutely agree. He stole the show on this one!!
Buddy was amazing
Buddy was stand out when I saw Mayall, 1998 in Manhattan.
For sure Buddy is a great player . He's got a lot of Texas ZZtop influence i find . Watch him with Gary Moore , Buddy sounds better to me.
👏👏👏👏👏Hai ragione da vendere
Mick Taylor is the greatest guitar player the Rolling Stones ever had and one of the best blues players of all time! Likewise, John Mayall is the the godfather of English blues. Great voice! What a killer combination!
These senior rock and blues stars just keep getting better with age!
This is a fantastic Song. Thank you Mr. John Mayall and the whole Band
Here are true masters at work, after 50 years listening to rock and blues 💙... That Buddy is such a great player...matched to Mick, another masteris incredible. That's the video that lead me to Mists of Time .... One of the most beautiful songs ever written 🌬️
Man never did Drugs!!! Look at him 70+ years & still the man, a role model for all here
I listen John Mayall since 1968 and till today,he the father of British Blues, he is a Legend
I listen to John from the album Lauren Canyon, long ago.
Daud musa.. Actually Elexis kornerwas the father of British , but I was wrong in a previous comment. He himself was a fine guitarist and had more legends come through his band. I always loved the song nemesis kornersings the blues in heaven buy a female whom I cant recall the name..
British blues I meant..and it's Elexis not that stupid smart word screws up more than usual.
@@robertwoodward829 Isn't it Alexis or Alex Korner, I think🤔🎶🎶
@@deborahbrown6408 Yes its Alexis and I found but forgot since, the song I was referring to "Alexis Korner Still Sings The Blues In Heaven. Oops, just came back. Sally Barker did it on the TV show, The Voice I think. I first heard it on some radio bout 10 years ago and I liked it so much but when I started searching it took me days to finally find it. Of course you can find his songs to. He had many who would become icons. Plant Jagger etc. Etc. I had thought myself, the same, that it was as this conversation goes, thinking May all, until I found that Elexis came before. Also you will see a few different spellings of his first and last but I'm sure this is the most used. Hope you find it cause she sang it beautifully..
Buddy Whittington again proving the biggest names ain't always the best guitar players. 😄😄👍👍
love those mick taylor blues runs, always surprises, tone so smooth. his generation of guitarists is dropping right and left but he's on the younger side of things. we still have time to appreciate his incredible talent
awesome
MICK you are a genius, a master of the elite of the best, the best albums with the STONES made them with you
Oh ya! Mick Taylor and Buddy Whittington. Two great guitarists playing together. complementing each other and bringing out the best in each other's play. What a treat to hear.
YA it,s a pick off
Just loving the blues doesn't get anybetter
Buddy Whittington - outstanding blues player
So Insanely righteous
Really
sure is
Got to talk with him for about an hour before his first show with the Bluesbreakers. He knew the shoes he was stepping into. He opened with a Freddie King tune then welcomed John on stage. Absolutely incredible performance.
Wow, never heard of Buddy Whittington even though I've been a big fan of Mayall's since the 60s. This guy's got some licks and to me outshone Mick Taylor.
Amazing music!:John Mayall, Mick Taylor & Buddy Whittington are 3 musicians I can listen to play all day long.👍🤗
I was having a bad day until I heard this. Now I'm floating 2 miles up there somewhere with no cares in the world. Never underestimate the power of the blues. Both guitars firmly on point.
Two miles up? I hope you got a pilot's license! :-D
I got British blood in my blood sugar test today

John Mayall: Grand father of English Blues
The man ,bluesman...
Poor John Maya. He could never find a good guitarists. /ssssss
@@larrylinn8589 yes they are so few and far between, besides who plays the blues anyway.
@@larrylinn8589 So Clapton was not good enough?
@@linpiao111 I am a big fan of Mayall and Clapton. I was being sarcastic.
Wow. . Mick Taylor. Always been my favorite guitarist. This video ive never seen before. I loved it. Wow. Mick played extremely well. This will be a classic to me. I have always loved listening to Mick Taylor play ever since i was young. And this all started when i began to listen to a masterpiece in rock called ..EXILE ON MAIN STREET. This Stones album.was gold. Mick Taylor played just incredible.
.
.
🤤😇😂😂😁 wow really pretty basic
Absolutely echo my thoughts on that one.. For me MIck Taylor was the Rolling Stones... Totally transfrormed their Sound and was with them for what for me are their best albums by a long shot! Incedie Blues Musician... Few I'd rather listen to cept maybe Jerry Miller, Duane Allman, MIke Bloomfield or Albert Collins for that matter
Ha yes and he quit right after that album. He couldn't deal with the madness going on at Nellcote. Dang i hate these auto words they put wrong! Anyway the Stones made their finest albums when Taylor was lead.
@@JohnMurphy-pw3sy His playing was great but Keith is the one who mostly decided where the song would go. If not he would fire you or kill you. Both had great interplay.
MICK IS A GREAT GUITARIST....
Mick Taylor...plays like that even with a cut finger!!
Don't forget Buddy Whittington on the other guitar. 15 yrs. with Mayall from Ft. Worth area. Back home now. Excellent lead exchanges.
Buddy is killing it!
The way Mick Taylor builds a solo is stunning.....
I'm eventually beginning to realise and appreciate just how good a player Mick Taylor is , better late then never I suppose ...
Reminds me of Peter Green.....never in a rush, never too loud, always the most precise beautiful notes.
I saw John Mayall along with Mick Taylor, Mick Fleetwood and John McVie in a bar in Green Bay, Wisconsin in the mid 70’s. They were one of the best bands I’ve ever seen and Mick is a true virtuoso who was playing Albert King lick for lick. He was amazing!
John Mayall is a true icon and a legend.
Suddenly, 70 just doesn't seem that old anymore...
You'd better believe it.
I miss this stuff.
Never a truer word
Mick Taylor is freaking master of lead guitar. Too bad he quit the Stones.
He would have died if he didn't.
He didn’t want to deal with the drug abuse, conflict, and general craziness.
He was & still is SMART.
HE got down "south" &
really blossomed when he thru that pick away.
Modest GREAT is MICK TAYLOR.
He was & still is SMART.
HE got down "south" &

Modest GREAT is MICK TAYLOR.
I saw him back in the 80's opening for John Mayall. He was booed of the stage 30 minutes into his show. He was so sloppy drunk he could barely play
There's some wonderful interplay between the two guitarists. Even the other band members think so,. judging from their facial expressions. What a pleasure to hear Mick Taylor again.
I have just a little restriction with Mayall voice for the rest pretty cool.
My greatest ♥grandmother madin name was Sadie Taylor ❤💗💙💕💓

String bending masterclass there from the great Mick T.
Perfection!!John Mayall had always extraordineries musicians around him !
God saves Britain !
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh love the Blues. Makes you sad and happy at the same time, gift from God for the sadness relief of this evil world.
This is excellent music by John Mayall and the Bluesbraker thanks for uploading this fantastic song and awesome video 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💋
Buddy.. you are a Monster.. you make your stratocaster sound like the hardest tele...
such excellent playing. love the back and forth banter between Taylor and Whittington. so well done.
Virtuoso guitar playing by both Buddy and Mick. Amazing tandem at the end!! Blown away!
ABSOLUTELY!
Buddy Whittington & Mick Taylor! Two of my favourite guitarists!
Mick Taylor must be use a 09 guitar strings. Look likes Albert Lee. Fucking bends
@@maupric Maybe. Looks like they are tuned down a half step though (track is in F# but they're playing in G position) Makes the bends easier.... trick used by Hendrix, Stevie Ray etc etc...
Some of those licks Mick Taylor is playing sound so much like Albert King. Very impressive,
This is how I like my Blues. No frills, honest music!
Watching Mick Taylor play one realizes the power and the beauty contained in a simple guitar fretboard. You just wanna dive in, explore the possibilities and blow your mind. Sounds hippie doesn't it? But imagine yourself with Mick Taylor's fingers and mind...
Who else could tie up such a stunning line up of talent to produce such a stupendous example of English influenced blues. Take a bow Mr Mayall OBE We all owe you so much.
Love you Mick Taylor! You're amazing. One of my favorite ever.❤️❤️
Mick Taylor is wicked cool! He has such good taste.
John Mayall y los Bluesbrakers con Mick Taylor me encanta! !!!!
I love the blues , chills and relaxes me . Makes me happy . Love you guys since I was 17 , now 67 ❤❤❤❤
Buddy is very good but there is something magical about Mick Taylor's playing.
Buddy is one in ten thousand. Mick is one in a million.
It takes more than a very good or even, dare I say, astounding, guitarist to try matching Taylor. I maintain my position that Mick is the most sensitive out of the lot. His playing melts the frost on my innermost coldest mountains.
What an ending! 🤘🏻 great stuff as always from John Mayall.
Mick Taylor is wonderful as always too
You want to make it through 2020?,...listen to Mick Taylor!
Wow I love this song and awesome video this guys are awesome wows beautyful music love it thanks to the music enhancement network for uploading this fantastic video and song thanks you made my early morning 👍👍👍👍🦋👍🦋👍🦋🌹👍🦋🌹🦋👍🦋🌹👍🦋🌷👍
John Mayall can always be trusted to bring it!
Spent many moons before the great internet came along and places like "Life to the Blues" arose, trying to find music by John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers. It was near impossible. Thank goodness it is all within reach now. Don't know what I did all the years I was without it.
Ay fuke mane and fuke you
It don't get any better. You guys are so talented and under played. Enjoy so much. Thank you.
Micks playing more like Albert King using just his fingers ( no pick) and emphasizing slow bends. The real back and forth action starts at 6:50 Buddys playing is pretty good on that strat too.
Love the distinctly different tones between Taylor's LP & Buddy's Strat. I could listen to this stuff for hours.
The first record I bought with my first paypacket was John Mayell and the Bluesbreakers. His music still brings back memories of that happy day. Mick Taylor, such a big influence while he was with the Rolling Stones, shoulda stayed with the them! What a career choice!! Gives me hope that partying keeps you fit!
Sat about 10 feet from him for a solo show in a small jazz club about 35-40 years ago and along with the Stones Exile on Main Street tour two of my favorite musical events I’ve ever attended. His slide work is up there with Ry Cooder and Derek Trucks.
Mick Taylor is amazing.
Incredible version. Micks lick starting at 8:12 is just amazing. So quick, yet so fluid and soulful - that's the Taylor we all know.
One of the best in my opinion. Stones were fucked without him.
@@barrykershaw9818 Stones are rockstars...Mick is a Bluesmaster, not the same world! Many musicians in the "blues" now behave as little rock stars!!! they ll never be Bluesmasters !
Absolute true
far from that...but taylor the best@@barrykershaw9818

John and Mick a revival of the Bluesbreackers
since the 1969-72 years
Mick is a truly unappreciated Guitarist, much like Buddy. He has that amazing tone and perfect licks all with a bandage on his first finger!!
Read the comments before saying that Mick is underated.
Mick T, the Outstanding Stone...
Mick Taylor is the greatest,
Oh! Oh! Oh!...Brilliant memories...Thanks for that..
So much feeling, respect and musical listening between two awesome guitarists.
I love the way Mick progressively increases the tension during the last solo. Still awesome after hundreds of listenings, thanks !
I was thinking exactly the same.
Totally agree. That's the difference between being one of the greats and being a legend and Mick Taylor is a legend...
Absolutely awesome - saw John Mayall again last year and he just lives and breathes the blues . What a line up. Fantastic performance by all musicians don't get much better than this for those who appreciate this music
This is soo good, have been a fan of MT since Diary of a Band 1968, when he was 18 YO, my goodness , not forgetting BW, also superb, Enjoy,
Increíble el talento del Gran Jhon Mayall!!
Extraordinario músico de todos los tiempos.
Cómo logro fusionar a la perfección el Jazz y el blues .
Muchos años para el gran maestro
Saludos desde México!!
I saw The Bluesbreakers in Auckland , NZ in 1982 . Mick Taylor on lead guitar , John McVie on bass and Colin Allen from Stone the Crows on drums , John Mayall's Band Rocked that night ..! Mick Taylor is a great Guitar player . .!!
I saw that band at the Park West in Chicago.Mick Taylors guitar playing was so intense that at one point he made me cry, damn him.
Saw them in Buffalo on same 82 tour.. I met Mayall and John McVie and got Mayall's autograph Taylor took off before I got chance to get close but I got better chance on Taylor's solo tour at the famed El Mocambo in Toronto where Stones did their legendary show there and got front row seat and got within 3 ft and missed a chance at another autograph but was cool to see him that close 😁
Colin Allen from Focus Hamburger Concert?
So glad Mayall is still going strong...became a fan in the early 1960's while I was a college student...great bands and song choices.
Je ne m'en lasse pas, extra.
Mick Taylor guitar is awesome , hope could see marriage madness for that was a master is best guitar with John Mayall. thanks for the down load mate.
Surely is, but the great value from Mayall was to bring such guitarists together in great songs. Remember 'Looking at tomorrow' on "Back to the roots", with Eric Clapton and Mick Taylor in an unforgettable duet.

Marriage madness....that guitar ALWAYS make me cry.
Beautiful.
A really nice tone Mick Taylor's Les Paul.
Mick had the Albert King vibe going pretty on. Such a great blues man.
Buddy Whittington i Mick Taylor są świetni. Moje gratulacje!. Bravo.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
MIck and Buddy would make a good guitar team under the right circumstances.
Each has their own distinctive sound and tone.
JOHN MAYALL gehört auch meinen absoluten Lieblingsmusikern--- und ich sammle seine Musik...
Mick Taylor is a bad, bad man!
He always makes my day! Thank you!
Mick Taylor... MY GOD!!!! That was maybe the best I've ever heard him play and that is really saying something! Mind Blowing!
Happy 90th Birthday John. Thanks for all you've done.
John Mayall!!! Buenissimo!!! Es el padre del blues blanco❤larga vida al blues y a John...es uno de los grandes!!!🙏🎩
No matter who the other guitar players with John Buddy Whittington is always the guitar anchor. Buddy is a amazing vocalist/ guitar player.

Terrific guy too. Very courteous, very humble, a gent.
How about the years when he had Walter trout and coco Montoya!
Not only a legend, but a player and entertainer who has made other players legends. One great man, John effing Mayall, the best!
Guitars heros will live forever!
Welcome to the "John Mayall School of Music"
John Mayall is to British Blues is similar to what Miles Davis was to jazz.
; )
Beautiful music!
Amazing tune, been listening to Crusade for longer than I care to remember, what guitarists, excellente!
Oh, my goodness!! What a rendition. And that dialogue-argument between Mick Taylor's and Buddy Whittington's guitars. Out of this world. Forget EC...
heerlijk om naar te luisteren!
Great song
Caught John Mayall in San Francisco with the Bluesbreakers. The man proved to be all he is and the Bluesbreakers were rocking.
John!
Next time you´r to visit Scandinavia. Please bring us the" BEST of them all": Mick Taylor!!!!
Hopefully you can do that, lock forward to this event.
