Film discription: The Dark Knight of Gotham City confronts a dastardly duo: Two-Face and the Riddler. Rest in peace to Michael Gough who played Alfred Pennyworth in all 04 live action Batman films from 1989-1997 he will be missed. Also, nice mention to the previous Batman film Batman Returns and since we're talking about the Tim Burton/Joel Schumacher both Alfred and James Gordon are played by the same actors. Making the films in the same universe despite Michael Keaton not appearing in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin. Although, it is nice that he got play Batman again in the upcoming Flash movie that P.S. I have not seen yet but looks great.

I always liked Val's subdued delivery at this moment at 2:28. His eyes and micro expressions do enough to convey how somber and lonely this Batman really is at this point of his life.
On top of his regret of murdering The Joker, another deep cut for him is losing Vicki and Selena back to back because of his duality. Vicki loved Bruce Wayne, and Selena loved Batman- he couldn't ever make them happy with his other sides that he didn't know how to balance. Because of his struggle, this Bruce feels as though he'll never be allowed to he happy- being Batman is his punishment, his great penance (as Chase mentions at one point) and that he's going to suffer with this identity crisis/crisis of faith until he dies.
Guilt and an undercurrent of sadness fuels this Batman like in the Bronze Age comics, and it's hard not to feel for him. Val Kilmer had big shoes to fill after Keaton but made the character progression feel genuine and with great touches.

It's scenes like these that make the Batman an iconic hero, a legend! Dark, gothic scenes and shots with over the top and needless tech that give a legendary, above normal man status to Batman. It's something that modern Dc movies forget and it all started with how down to earth Batman was in Nolan's movies. People tend to forget that, he is the only superhero with no powers, that other godlike characters respect and often fear. He isn't one of the founding members of the league for no reason. Movie scenes must always remind us of that fact every so often.

Elliot Goldenthal's Batman Forever soundtrack was SO good. The villains in the movie were extreamly over the top but Val Kilmer was a great batman for me. This movie has a very special place in my heart and the music makes it so epic.
