I love how she just grabbed his ears to kick him in the face, I haven’t seen anything like that before in a Batman movie. That’s actually pretty cool.

The shot of Batman with giant wings flying over a city of terrified citizens combined with the scary choral music in full creature of the night mode is one of the most epic shots in the entire movie. Batman Returns isn't just a classic, it's a living masterpiece!

the movies a masterpiece. above dark knight rises IMO. Begins and Dark Knight edge it out but not by as far as people like to make out.
I still don't know at who i should be more mad.....At Batman for just standing and looking at the girl fall to her death....Or at The Ice Princess for not stepping off the ledge when she had the freaking chance.....
I'm more mad at Batman. Yes, The Ice Princess was stupid, and she could easily have saved herself by hopping off (the distance between the ledge and the roof wasn't very high at all). But that's the point. She was *stupid* . Batman's meant to be smart, but he didn't do his job, which is to protect everyone, no matter who they are, and how stupid.
What would’ve made that scene better is to have one of Penguin’s henchmen in a Batsuit toss her off the building while Batman was downstairs

Michelle Pfeiffer is amazing in this movie. The costume is great too. Easily the best Catwoman ever and IMO the best female performance in any superhero movie ever, including Wonder woman, etc. The costume designers had a moment of brilliance and she just killed it. Not afraid to be feminine and very sexy, but she was intimidating and scary at the same time.
Just perfect and probably the most underrated movie comic book villain.

Keaton's voice is underrated as hell. It's always Conroy this, Conroy that, but Keaton had the perfect Bat-voice in Batman Returns and obviously influenced future Batman actors. You know, you're allowed to appreciate and praise aspects of a take(the acting, dialogue, music, production design, etc) even if you don't like the overall take.
Keaton is amazing
Keaton is the best cinematic Batman and Conroy is the best animated Batman.
I always loved Keaton as Batman. The voice, the portrayal, the overall demeanor of him DEEP in thought. Bale was the first one I saw in the theater, but I was just a kid. Had no idea what the themes were, but even still, I didn't like his performance that much back then. I do appreciate Bale's performance, but Keaton is better to me. Not everything has to be ultrarealistic. SOME realism is necessary, but too much makes us forget what we are watching. Also, loved the Keaton Batsuits. HEad movement may have been restricted, but still were great suits.
Conroy was indeed influenced by Keaton at the beginning, though he also took inspiration from his own struggles and experiences to make it truly his own.
So yeah, respect for Keaton. He was literally the first, save for Adam West and his beautifully campy 60's take.
When it came to more gothic and 'dark' Batman, he is the OG.
Conroy clears Keaton by miles. Keaton is good but is tiers under Conroy, bale, and battinson

Bale is transparent, the soundtrack is miles away from the quality and epicness of Elfman’s even though the main theme is really good, Gotham is just plain Chicago/New York etc. so in terms of iconography and cinematography it’s just pale in comparison.

Best part of this movie is Batman and Catwoman . One thing I notice about this movie is that even though Gotham city’s design looks great it kinda feels empty in comparison to the city in Batman . It feels smaller in scale sometimes . Gotham in Batman looks like a real city while in return it looks like a set and the same location for most of the movie Maybe that was intentional. still a great set design .
As much as I love Bo Welch’s design of Gotham City in Returns, it would be even better if it was built outdoors. This way, there could be natural sky lighting. Especially in day scenes, which looks like a shopping mall

2:28 Feel like this sums up Gotham Police's incompetence pretty well that they never see mayoral candidate Oswald Cobblepot on that rooftop or even hear anything he was saying over the last few seconds.
They were convinced it was Batman, and so angry that he'd apparently hurt their beloved princess, that their judgement was (understandably) clouded.
Michele Pffifer will is still the Queen at being Catwoman.
I love how superhero movies obey no rules of logic whatsoever, and have no basis in reality at all. This movie is at least colorful and imaginative though.

When the T-Rex breaks out of the enclosure, there is clearly a forrest behind him. When the T-Rex knocks the tourist car into that very same enclosure, the forrest became a dam. Spielberg later on admitted he was made aware of the error during the editing phase of the movie. He didn't care because it still made for an exciting sequence... It was. 👍
