  • "For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do."

    Congratulations on new Bark River, they are one hell of a knife, the 3v man is so great, if you get out and really use it you will be even more in love.
    So many new knifes these days seem to be made of D2 which is a strong steel but most people cant sharpen it, and being brittle believe or not can break. You were very smart on your purchase of v3 , in my opinion, as they say, it cant be beat, but i think you know that, so thanks for showing, she is a beauty. I would match it against any of equal size or steel. You my friend got your $$'s worth.

    Hi Rob, I think you are going to love this knife, the proportions are very well done. The new Lil' Canadian just came out and the stock is thin making it another great small knife. Nice review!

    If you take paracord and run it through those eyelets you will end up with a very nice horizontal carry option. I did that with my Ultra-light Bushcrafter and it makes it a dream to carry.

    I saw your review on the springbok. Im like you in regards to EDC fixed blade knives. I like them a bit on the smaller size for obvious reasons.I had my eye on the springbok but now you have me looking a the mini aurora. Since you have reviewed both Id like you take both in a side by side. THXS

    Nice review Rob. The mini aurora is on my to buy list when they have a fresh run. I have been looking for a small knife that can be use as a primary knife. I already own a ultralite bushcrafter an featherweight Fox river but need a small knife that is a little more robust.

    I think I might have to save for one of these. I have been wanting an EDC fixed blade in 3V ever since I got a Spyderco Tuff and found out how good the stuff is. Do you sharpen your Bark River knives on sand paper or on your edge pro?

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  Před 4 lety +1

      I actually have another method for that, Travis. I use a hard rubber substrate with progressive grits of sandpaper, followed by strops.

    Why would you but a secondary edge on a Barky?

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  Před 2 lety

      Almost all Barkies have a large radius convex blade face and a smaller radius convex edge - think of the shape of a parabola. It’s kind of infinitely adjustable from there, depending on steel type and application. Only the “scandi-vex” models have one arc all the way to be apex.

      @@TheApostleP iunderstand what you're saying but barbies all have a micro convexed bevel. What you have looks like a V

    • @TheApostleP
      @TheApostleP  Před 2 lety +1

      @@hamedizzy5137 Definitely not. If it looks that way, it’s probably because the edge is finished to a higher polish than the rest of the blade. But it’s most definitely a convex edge bevel. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

  • @bushcraft_in_the_north

    I bought my first Bark River knife the other day and must say i am a little disepointed in it. Not the best quality regarding the craftmanship. The edge is not centerd at al it's way of. The edge is not straight and they have forgot too polish the butt of the handle. i bought this at Lamnia some days ago and it was the Canadian Camp II knife in A2 steel with green micarta. Really like the design but the craftmanship is really lacking. Bought a Ontario SP 5 and a Sword Tempsky ranger bowie and they was alot better made without any flaws. How is this possible,i have heared so much good about them. They allways talk about caring for the product. Do they have too much too do,they have so many too quality check each knife several times so how can something like this slip thru. Maybe i will order one moore and see,if it is no better i will not buy any moore Bark Rivers.
