Do you cast the golf club? Are you using enough forward shaft lean? Do you stand up out of your posture? If you say yes to these this video on the side bend missing piece to a great downswing will help to combat that used up lag and bad posture. In this video we work on two pieces that will help you get better compression, better motion, and ultimately better control and contact!
I look forward to working with you much more in the future with Top Speed Golf. Good luck with your golf.

Clay, this is just another superb lesson. I don't know how you have figured it all out, while you're not the only one, you are certainly one of the very best at understanding our struggles and I can attest to your lessons having a real positive impact on my golf swing personally for about 2 years of watching your videos now. Some lessons have to be watched several times...and practiced almost with a passion--no matter how horrible the strike of the first few attempts. It has not been an easy road...but at least I'm on my way. If you do read this comment, I'll just add for myself, the key has been realizing that the Sweet Spot on the irons had been elusive for me because I had poor hip rotation/clearing of the hips. For me, what it prevented me from accomplishing was hitting more than a couple of grooves vertically up on the club face of an iron. I think this is a very common issue for amateurs, and one that is very difficult to identify and cannot be fixed with drills until the golfer 'Gets it'. I can feel the clubface approaching the club as you state on this video, leading to the straight line release now. Without the 'clearing'---at least me--I can't hit the sweet spot full on...and I'm obviously not at your level, never will be...but I'm swinging better now than I did in my 20s (now 55)...and my HC is almost equal (6.8)....my goal is a 4...which may be a pipe dream. Just want to say 'Thank You'.
I know they say there is no holy grail of golf tips but if there was one... this would be it. My ball flight is ridiculously good now and i get that "fizzing" sound from the ball as its launched into the air. Amazing! Thank you for posting this video Clay. Keep up the brilliant work! Cheers.
thanks for this video.. i requested this topic to be addressed on your channel a few weeks back ; to clear out my concepts about side bend in downswing.. very clear explanation as always .. thanks a bunch !!
Thanks for the instruction 👍 the detail on the clearing of the left hip and straightening of the left leg to allow release has helped me massively. I have been struggling with lifting out of the shot for years! This combined with the cover the golf ball video has really improved my iron striking. Great videos well presented
Not sure how anyone could dislike this tbh, Clay is 100% on the money, this video plus his videos on preventing over extension have improved my game immensely! I'm down to 3 hcp from 12 hcp in 7 months! He really knows his stuff folks!

Nice one Clay. I’m working on this at the moment. You’re def one of the best at what you do!!
Lower my legs into the ground, side bend, clear my left hip, hold the laaaaag, create some shaft lean, compress it and maintain my straight line release…got it.
This is a brilliant video Clay !
Keep up the good work!!
This has been the best tip I have been looking for!!!!
New there was something missing in my swing
Dead on. The gold standard of the golf swing. Side bend will change your life, citizens.
This is great, thanks.
"Missing Piece"....well said, this is a critical piece of the crazy golf puzzle...
Best coach in the youniverse
Thanks so much Clay, this is an issue I assumed I had nailed down, I thought by holding your left shoulder and right knee back you would already get sufficient right bend but concentrating on tilting your right shoulder to your side and then rotating it (as if the tip of your shoulder were to strike at the ball and continue tracing the target line) as your left hip rotates back and away definitely helps in getting more solid contact... I believe your pattern is similar to Miyahira's would be glad if you vould develop on this... Again, thank you
Side bend was the key move for me to get that extra distance with the driver
Great video 👍🏻
I have been playing golf for thirty years and not once when I was struggling would the pro tell me I had no side tilt, left or right. Saw this video, went and hit some in my practice net and felt good solid contact. Why is that part of the swing so seldom taught? Great video.
