Zip ties and bias plies would definitely approve how much Cosby in a can it used to start
She's hard on the bottle.
you don’t need an air cleaner...
Cosby in a can 😂😂😂😂😂
Nothing will compare to Slave Lake.
This is now going to be the longest week on the planet waiting to see this thing on Friday at UCC!
you guys are so honest I love your videos. I hope nothing to bad has happened to your motor. good luck from the uk guys
All I have to say is wow... this is one sweet truck
I'm amazed by the level of skill, knowledge and dedication you guys put into your builds. I sit watching your videos in awe . I think your starter motor makes more power than my whole van ( 75hp ) welcome to the UK!!!!!
Thank you Ian
Huge kudos to you guys! Love watching the progress. Todd I loved the last episode walking through every detail and talking about teaching yourself to weld. Huge props, as I know the road you're traveling.
What? Wow, if those are real numbers 3khp possibly? Great job Todd, Will and crew.. Been a long time coming, especially after such and *E P I C* blow up
Third place overall! And first place in pulling!!! 👍 Given the conditions that were there that day you guys kicked alot of butts. Can't wait to hear the whole story of the day!
Cant wait till the next video already. Cant wait to see it under high boost
drag racers are never on high boost....
14 pounds of boost 800hp 😳 !?!? what a beast 😈💪💪💪
Awesome guys 😬 🙌🏻
But there's alot of air mass....
Bought time you commented ... dragging behind are ya ... need a boost 👍🏻👊🏻💪🏻💊
Dixie Mae hahaha yea one more turbo would be nice 😬💨💪
It only shows 14 psi because it didn’t capture the whole pull......
Way back in the 1970's Cummings put out a gen set with twin turbos and after cooler the put out 800 horse with80 lbs of boost from a 220 horse regular out put ,AND factory warrantied it
3000hp ripper can’t wait to see what she run good job pdd!!
Name fits the truck well, it's a freaking monster!💪
OOOOOH MY GAWD! JUST HAD AN EARGASM OFF THAT MONSTER BUILD!
You guys are leaving me with a cliffhanger a nail-biter love it Go p double d!!!!!
They tell us what the noise was, it was just the billet cam gear head bolts. The engine is fine.
MIC is working great!
Great job guys, keep these informative videos coming.!!
Damn, 12 valve you scary! PDD made a monster!
Music to my ears....Welcome to the thunderdome!!!!!
What a monster!!!
Nice job Guys. Its time to set some records. Keep up the great work.
Great vid, loved the in cab audio. Just picked up some merch too!
Looking good 👍 From Ft.Hood, Tx
Ether bunny... That's a good one.
did not realize people had an either sensitivity. the flow on that head is beyond impressive. glad the cam bolt issue was found early. cant wait for UCC!
Been waiting on this!!!!
Todd, you guys are amazing. 800 RWHP for the first run is a great baseline. Looking forward to seeing the next video with more fine tuning. Very impressive.
Well the noise didnt stop a 3rd over all and top dog in the pull. Congrats well done.
Great video
its my dream to be a part of a team like this someday.
You and me both buddy
This truck is bad ass
Great work guys💪💪👌👍
You need the you tube guy ZipTies and Bias Plys. He knows how and what to spray for a proper start. Your either man has good form but could absorbe some of ZipTies and Bias Plys knowledge and form. The guy works wonders on both gas and diesel engines. Please look him up, great cold starts also. Guy is a silent youtube treasure that needs proper recognition for his actions.
Flex pipe through the windshield would ruin the erodynamics of the truck
Next video now please..... Seriously please. I freaking love your guys videos. Even if it's mostly 12 valve lol.
Subscribed finally. I have to say, after watching the build, deep respect! Of all the other big shops that will compete, who else is creating good, watchable content? None that I know of...and I'm a Duramax guy through and through.
I now know of 2. I hope y'all do well at UCC.
Diesel has came a long way...
Hell yeah guys 😬👍💪💨💨💨💨
Awesome numbers for a first pull 😎there's gas guy's who can barely do that on full boost🤣🤣🤣 can't wait for the next video keep em coming 😎👍
Nice!!
I dont think we give enough credit to the unsung hero the starter hahaha the starters take a beating and jut keep going happily haha no matter what we put them through
All that either on a brand new engine as well as a worn out one is apt to take out a few rod bearings don’t you think, I’ve done it. Diesel engine compression will light off WD 40 and I’d feed it in thru the turbos as well. When I use either I stand back and fog it towards the inlet, letting it puddle up in the intake can be lethal I’ve found out. That thing sounds like a beast god damn!
,,, love it, more air less sooooootttt !
Ok ! What I think I'm seeing here is a solid block and head ! No water ! Just used for drag race or pulling contest
Engine runs 30 seconds or so then sits for half hr to cool down . Low compression pistons so needs either to start
i always hit like when there are "challenges" it means it's real.
Lets see some more dyno tuning!!! EP 7!!
Good luck
Aww yeah
Sick. Unreal actually. Hope to see the full power pulls soon!
Have you guys ever tried a POWER PROBE 3. Best thing ever. Test light, volt meter and toggle switch all on one. It's be perfect for when your working on electrical problems
For sure!!
I cant imagine how loud this engine is
That fever blister looks like it really hurts.
Awesome. Mic setup is very professional and security/military style. Keep up the awesome job.
military mics? are you gay?
@@homefront3162 Google "military throat mic" or it that too hard to do?
gafrers Yeah, sure let's use some military shit when there are MANY more commercial mic's that would be appropriate dumbass...
Stick a common rail on that get it running right and clean for the complete power band. Pumps belong in to a museum. Other than that awesome build and good power on so low boost.
When the apocalypse hits you'll be trying to find that pump you put in the museum besides that it's what they specialize in.
Get a hold of Cletus McFarland.
Their crazy selves put a 12 valve in a 69 Galaxy!
Cletus has the fastest stick shift Vette.
I think you can reach out to him and make the Galaxy scream.
It should help both of you. Both views and work.
I didn't realize that you could use that much ether. I was told if you use to much ether it can break a piston. Is that true. Because I know you guys know what you are doing. Awesome video guys.
Not on a stock diesel but this has reduced compression to make more power so you pretty much need it to make it start
Ok thanks buddy. That makes sense. What kind of compression do you think it has right now at low boost.
PowerDrivenDiesel thanks for the info.
Is there velcro on the seat pan or I guess gravity/g force is cheaper to prevent butt slip in the seat
Major misunderstanding on my end guys! I apologize first off to you guys and Turba Tom...........it didn't register in my pea brain that the first place finish I read in the video was for sled pull, I was jacked out of my gourd when I saw Todd took first and immediately thought it was for the overall as I was pulling for you guys to take the overall. Then I just started the Turba Tom upload of the awards and realized how big a moron I was lmao! So now that my foot is out of my mouth.........helluva job at UCC 2019 with a THIRD PLACE finish (pay attention next time woos) and I would still say excellent work guys and gals of PDD for the time and energy put into this highly revised version of the UCC truck...........also I would still say you have a lot to be proud of with the R and D you guys put into bigger, faster, stronger everything in the motor alone not to mention all the body work, wiring, lexan, and sheet metal diet you put the truck on over the off season. Still flippin awesome, and I still wanna try and stop in while I'm in Cedar next month so you guys can snap me with rubber bands or somethin for being a bonehead 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@pddofficial I was hoping there would be more footage of the truck or maybe I haven't watched the right person's video yet, but all I saw was the sled hook and a very smokey pass on the track and never saw the time. But still awesome seeing the good fortune
#bestplacetojackoffincedarcity ..........
Good pull. Bummer with the weird noise. I hate strange noises.
spraying ether on the intercooler line??
I'm gonna take a trip from kansas city to the show this weekend
Sweet mother of god......
Ooh hearing some engine noises now huh? Imagine that. Lol holy shit I think I just called a play by play. Ha that’s good shit.
i want a 5.9 in aus so hard to get here good show i run 12s quater mile in 4jj1 3l 38 psi i know your pushing your engines but i swear every one you rebuild brakes is all your equipment calibrated properly i had worn feeler gauges
Why don't you guys put one of those cab operated Ether injection setups on this?
It’s gonna be the greatest day ever when you guys finally get yours👍👍 y’all deserve it, nobody has tried harder than you boys!!! You guys will get it and when ya do it’ll mean that much more💪 hammer down boys!!! Giving up’s for p@$$y’s👊
Does that wastegate leaking at idle affect anything?
neighbours wondering what's creating the draft in the air
How does this thing get cooled-no radiator.
I always used wd-40 and maybe a light mix of ether to avoid detonation...
diesels will actually start on the Napa silicone oil spray in a can they actually sound like they are running on diesel with no knock, funny cause after you’ve primed your injection lines you don’t actually know whether the engine is running on the silicone spray or the injection pump until you let off the spray. Ether definitely has a certain sound to it I don’t like. Gasoline on a rag just let it breath the vapor does the trick too
Curious what she's gonna make at 50+ lbs of boost.
You guys build some wild shit!!!
My favorite part was Will washing his pants in diesel. Is it wrong that was funny?
Have u ever seen the head phones that ppl use to listen for the harmonic noises of the knocks? I am sure I am asking a dumb question but just an idea...
I'm kind of dumb, but why it takes that much to start the engine? And to keep it running? Why use ether?
What's the wheel specs of the ones I can see on the front
If it made 800hp at 14 psi... Good god..
why is that waste open at idle.?
Love how almost double atmosphere is almost natural lol on gas that's getting serious, but crazy head my 12v is 600ish @ 70lbs lol.. 800@14lbs is ridiculous
Seriously crazy and im guessin you have twins or a big single for 600hp? These guys can make 800 at 14psi cus of 3 giant turbos the volume of air must be insane where as your turbos can probabily make close to the volume of air they are making but at 70psi compaired to like 10psi from theirs lol oh and the water meth must help. Keep that 12v rollin my friend
What tires do u have
who could thumbs down this, i mean really now?/
Good stuff, i don't know about your class @UCC, but if advice to run some NOS to spool those huge turbos, or run then sequencally
There's a 3rd one behind the 2 atmosphere
@@tannerutley9753 I know that, I've seen all episodes from the 8200 rpm that mad you block goes ka-boot
@@Ali-bz9gd ahh okay, wasn't sure if you were just comin onboard 😂 my bad
It maybe a large benefit to you to ho beyond the boost psi & measure the CFM, humidity, barometric pressure, temperature, etc.
I wish I could get a job working for/with you guys but stay in WI while doing so. Very capable & willing to learn, teach, & share knowledge also. Jack of all trades type (closer to master of several 😉)
If the boost and horsepower numbers are correct everyone at ucc is in trouble if the truck can out the power to the ground
Take my advice on the either. It’s volatile shit.
Those turbos are bigger than my engine
Upload you videos for UCC 2019 please
What is the compression ratio you're running on this?
I’m guessing it’s very low since it was so hard to start. I have the same question
if the grim reaper drove a diesel !
Billet cam gear hub bolts loose? Or rubbing on cover?
PowerDrivenDiesel good deal. Looking forward to UCC and videos that follow!
What data logger r u using. Watching banks channel and his data logger seems to me like the best one ever on the market.
@@pddofficial yeah that's very true. Lovin the build. Would be sick to see tht as a street truck. The mean stance of thoes turbos is just badass.
@@pddofficial correct @Banks Power is not capable of reading 1st and 2nd gen as they lack OBD2 and have told me they have no interest in supporting our Mechanical Mafia
Where is the coolant system? Or does it have one?
@@pddofficial jeez, that thing must weigh half a ton. No wonder it can withstand that much power. What kind of longevity do you expect out of an engine like that? I know drag gasoline/methanol engines inside and out, but beyond the basics I don't know much about diesels.
Just curious your thoughts on using that much ether? Of course there is 10 thousand different opinions on that, but you guys must obviously think it’s safe using that much and that often. As far as even having a dedicated ether bunny port. Just curious on your guys thoughts behind this. Thanks!! Lookin good gentleman! Best of luck!
The problem is the very low compression ratio, due to the very high boost. Then the pistons are kinda conical and ring gaps are very big. So ether is necessary until all is a bit warmed up
Patrick de Man... Thanks for the reply, I appreciate that... ya I completely understand the WHY and the reasoning behind the necessity for it. I was just more looking for people’s comments regarding ether because you hear 10 different ideas and different logic a day regarding its use. Im not sure if I heard during the build vids, but what compression do you figure you are out now? Thanks!
How hot does the engine get during a run like that? How long can you run the engine before you have to shut it down? When I see and engine running without a radiator it makes me cringe. Guess I'm not cut out for the drag racing circuit :)
PowerDrivenDiesel could you make a radiator that’s quick disconnect and all external. For after passes or on the dyno.
It's a solid block, you cant connect a radiator...
Odis Harkins I realized as soon as I said it, it’s a dry block
Your dyno has a windshield.
Funny i start my cummins the same way
where's the third turbo... i can only see two.. i watched closely to see if its hidden under or somewhere... yet only two...
There is 2 behind the big 1
penny, penny, penny (inserts motor noise)
So would she be 400 horsepower naturally aspirated then if you put one atmosphere on and she was 800?
Double the pressure doesn’t (neccesarily) mean double the airflow volume
I know we could talk about cfm to pounds per minute.
I love all the arm chair diesel mechanics getting worried about the ether use
Did they say what the compression ratio is? Im guessing
He just heard the huge noisy injectors I mean come on guy, these things push 3000hp worth of fuel
800 hp at 14lbs of boost 3000hp here we come
800@ 14lbs cant be true, how the fuck should a cummins make 400hp na.
rowdy
