Love that we're still getting r&d and improvements for the 12 valve all these years later
Let's see the actual fuel economy with upgraded injectors
I agree , You don’t want to Assume that you’re using more fuel atomization is everything in a diesel if you’ve increased your atomization you probably decreased your fuel demand.
True
Now you’re speaking my language! Anxious to see the fuel economy results!
I'd really like to see what kind of real world fuel mileage you get with those new injectors.
Viideos like this showing testing and data are the best in my opinion.
It's awesome to see real research and development 🤘
Great content! Some of the most objective and best diesel content I’ve seen! Keep it up PD Diesel guys!! 👍🇺🇸👍🇺🇸
You guys are really going to next level in what someone can do with these trucks.
Thank you
Very cool to see new stuff is the way. Look forward to putting some things like this on my 97
Awesome videos you are putting out about the second gens. Thank you.
Cant wait to see and watch more VP dynos.
Glad you like them!
Wow very manageable egt not even past 1250! Very impressive. Great video thanks guys!
Love your still learning and sharing this info to....... please keep posting...
I can't wait to see some more testing with these injectors, that towing run with the new injectors looked real clean. The smoke was really low, more or less a haze the whole run.
Amazing, hopefully ready when I rebuild my 98 12v in 23 God willing.
Guys this is great video the tests between one component and another is really interesting it's real world testing not just burning rubber in my opinion doesn't prove anything ( but your local tire dealer loves them LOL ) PLEASE keep the tech videos coming
As always take care stay safe and God bless you all 🙋♂️ 🇬🇧
Nice one guys ! Looks like a decent set of injectors 👍🏻
I like to see videos like this, very interesting and i like how you presented the testing and analysis! And if these end up being your level 2 version, I'm interested to see what the level 1 version numbers are if you bring something like these to production.
Love the info. And this is exactly what alot of people need now days. Best of both worlds power and fuel economy.
very cool info guys! can't wait to see more!
More to come!
Hell Yea!!! This is exactly what I need for my shorty!!!! Keep it up guys and ill be waiting for them!
Looking at upgrading my injectors. Awesome info
DAMN!!! I just bought injectors....now Ima hafta buy some more :)
So cool to see the difference in egt’s, for me towing power and efficiency is the most important thing. My 09 has stock fuel and air but I am tempted to see what I could do with some custom cut nozzle’s.
Very well done, keep these coming👍😎
We all enjoy "Mur", and you two are good together.
Mer hates being filmed but I agree with you I think he does a great job!
-Todd
You guys are badass, thank you!!! NC
I love the video this is thing I'd like to see before I buy a product!!! I definitely would a set when they come out
Awesome! Thank you!
love the tech vids.
Hey guys , I am loca to Cedar , bought a swx362 in April for my 1998.5 and the only part of my truck I don't have info on is injectors . Truck gets 14-16 at best right now , want to get a good compliment injector and have the head flowed and a custom tune with the quadzilla I got . My other Cummins was 20 all day long mpg ... Hoping to get closer to that as build power as low as possible for towing.
Seeing how much that 180 pump can make on stock DVs almost makes me reconsider a 13mm pump from you guys for my 24 valve... almost
Yep. Keep the data coming. Muhr you doin good on camera. Todd please revisit the claw(respect to your boy. Lol). Trying to do the hotrod tow rig vortex of money thing on my 06 qaud. Trying to get it right.
I was about to pull the trigger on your 5x12s. I think you convinced me to get these. Love the real world dyno to help me make informed choices.
Glad we could help!
You ever get a set of these Powerjet injectors? If so, how do they run?
Yes good stuff. I can't do what you do that's why I always check out your channel. Let's me know what I can do that really works. So it saves me time and money wish I had a smart phone when I started my 95 12 valve
The information I learned is awesome thanks
Thank you
Can't wait for these injectors! I have 5x14 injectors and they are hot and Smokey in a ve12v so I think smaller is the answer
Great content
When are these hitting the market?
Hello from Sacramento CA. 1997 2500 4x4 cummins dodge
When these come out, you've got a customer! I bought ol' Lazerus to WORK, not be a toy & these seem the best of both worlds! I'm not a tree hugging Green New Deal clown by any means, but more horsepower, less smoke, better fuel economy is an all around environmental win in my book!
Exciting stuff. I have a vp44 truck that I run 7x10s built by Weston Shuppe. I like his injectors simply because they run cooler, more power and less smoky. This truck is used for deliveries, running about 70 to 80k miles a year. If y'all make a set of these, comparable to 7x10s, I'd buy them to test them and see how they do. Mpg is important. At the end of the day, the better it is, the more money in my pocket.
Nothing against PDD, they have great products and an awesome crew, but I don't think you're going to find anyone with a better understanding than Weston on injectors especially. He has tried a ton of different nozzles and uses a wide variety for 12 valve and 24 valve if you look through his Facebook page photos. If you want to try something new ask him about an 8 hole. They seem to atomize very clean on lightly to moderately modded VP44 trucks.
I used to run 7x0.010s in my VP truck as well but mine were DAP sticks, when the truck was tuned well they burned very clean but I was having some EGT concerns, I think that was mostly down to the 9cm housing on the charger. Stepped up to 7x0.012 with a s364.5 in the 14cm housing and a ported head, should help.
@Michael, it will be hard to beat Weston. He's built me several sets for different trucks, and they always do better than anything else's. If someone is building one that's also good, i like to test them myself.
I have your 75hp VP44 injectors in my motorhome with your towing compounds on it. Would love to see if a more efficient injector at that power level comes available
would love to see some fuel economy optimized nozzles for the 5.9/6.7 common rail engines
DDP. Tell ‘em where it’s at! Lenny is the man
yes i like to see more those test videos! and after hours storys :D
More to come!
Awesome video 👍🏻
Thank you 👍
This is great. Looks like a year in... Im pretty close to getting some. Looking for new, less smoke, and EGT. I think this is all around a great choice.
Yes they continue to impress us!
Love data all I can get
I like doing and seeing research done like this I do the same ony reloading ways to improve many different things.
muy interesante quiero mas ...
Are you planning on having this available for the 6.0 powerstroke
Yes I like day driver maybe test some 24 valves if you need one to test on I have 2001
Makes me miss my vp44 truck. With an adrenaline tuner and an Hx super 9 I ordered from y’all I was averaging 18 mpg. That’s better than my deleted LML I have now. 🤦🏼♂️
last i was driving with a trailer my 08 6.4 got 18 pulling a trailer with a full size truck on it and 21 with no trailer best mpg i've yet to get in any truck i own
Will you be developing anything like this for the common rail trucks?
Really enjoy this content always watching your guys tech videos. I'm curious though I currently have a set of pdd 5x12s and was thinking about going a little bigger would you be able to compare these to 5x12s to see the power level difference? A drop in egts would be nice as well
These will make more power than a 5x12 no question. Withought a direct comparison it is hard to say of course, If we get a chance to run that test we will make a video for sure!
-Todd
@@pddofficial Awesome. That'd be great if you get the chance I'd like to see the power comparison, definitely interested in seeing the development of new parts
This is what I am looking for……we have a stock 96 5 speed packing a camper that is starting to show her age. Looking to keep good fuel economy but increase the torque a little to better make the 3 rd gear 4th gear jump easier. There are lots of people looking to update there trucks while keeping the economy up.
Are you selling yet ? I am wanting to pull the trigger on a bundle of stuff for my Fummins build and these seem like a good choice . I need to call yall and talk about a couple things I have questions about .
Hell yes baby
Love the videos wish you had the power jet injectors for the 24v with a 7100 pump.
Working on it
What happened to that 24v video series yall were workin on?
Changing the nozzle or the whole injector witch is better result? What about 24v???
If you happen to take these injectors back out, I have a 1998 automatic with AFC Live that they would fit nicely in 😁
As I’m building my Cummins powered 4x4 Ford Econoline van for long trips this is the video series I’ve been waiting for!!! I bought your 400hp kit(still in the box) I believe that has 7x.009 injectors, will you be developing a comparable injector that is more efficient?
My dream is a e350 15 passenger with a 12valve or DT466 paired with a 5R110. Sounds like an awesome build.
@@BigPawTivald Thanks!!! I’ve thought of doing a DT360 in a van too!!!

DLC coating can add to the efficiency!
Love everything I'm seeing about these Power Jet injectors.. are you guys planning on cutting this nozzle geometry into a 24V injector nozzle/body?
I have a 180hp Ppump on my 1998.5 24V with PDD 362SX-E, PDD 7x0.0085 injectors set at p-pump pressure, and 055 DV's... love the power but looking for a little bit more efficiency and little less smoke.
Yes! Those injectors are in testing now. Should be available soon!
Was this test carried out with stock timing? If so it would be interesting to see the same test with a mild timing advance 👍🏽 love the videos keep um coming.
I'm pretty sure it was he said it in the beginning
No
EGT looked pretty good! Anything under 1250 in my book is pretty safe.
Ours as well
Need to try some DLC coating.
Is the truck running stock timing?
His reaction gave it away...lol
Great video! Let us know when we can buy them!
We will!
Early bird gets the cummins content
Please more for mileage
Id also like to see whats available for the 24V 5.9 in the way of similar injectors.
We are working on it.
Ok I have a similar set up. 97 12v 5sp 2wd that I drive constantly on the highway. I have a turbo out of Texas and just the free mods done. I would love to be a real world Guinea pig. I am putting 600-1000 miles per week on it
Which builder are you partnered with?
I’d do some testing for ya with my 12 valve! 😄
DDP injectors come to PDD :-) those 5x.011 seemed pretty dirty. Would be good to see them against some marine 370s which are 5x.012. I don’t recall the 370s hazing when up on full boost like those 5x.011 were.
Are these made by ddp ?
I’d buy a set of these but I was trying to pay attention to more of the (driving) rpm range like 15-2500/2800…
I’d be interested to learn how they compare to the 5 x 18’s that I’m currently running.
Your injector is much bigger with much more power potential. But we will be making bigger versions of these soon!
I know you guys have been testing these out for a while. Do you have any more information on how these are gonna do as far a fuel mileage goes?
They pick around 1mpg in town and around 2mpg on the road
Are you guys going to work on fuel mileage injectors for 1990-1993 12v?
I'm currently getting 18-20 on my 92 12v which is bone stock except for a 4" turbo back exhaust. I would like to improve my fuel efficiency and possibly get a little more power.
Later P-pump injectors are internally the same as our intercooled VE pump first gen injectors, but open at a slightly higher pressure. Build a pop pressure tester and re-shim whatever P pump injectors from PDD you want to open at the VE pump injection pressure.
Already subbed but i like seeing concrete data. Seat of the pants assumtions and claims have become annoying to me. I like seeing facts. Also i like seeing that you guys are deciding to take the road less traveled and try to make real changes instead of doing the same crap everyone is an throwing out some unsupported claim. I look forward to seeing more progress on these injectors.
So when can I buy a set?
That poor pitbike by the exhaust hose😂
Great video, but can you give an estimated fuel economy improvement?
As soon as possible
So is Dynomite diesel helping you
Are these PowerJet injectors SAC or VCO? Are the stage 1 a good fit for a bone stock truck? Looking for mpg, clean burning, an maybe a little more power. I thought I had decided on VCO 5x0.011 sticks, now I wonder if these will be better for me… 🤷♂️
They are a SAC nozzle yes they will run cleaner than the traditional 5x.011 as well as provide a bump in power and typically pick up some mpg's
It would be awesome if you guys tested intake horns just to see if they are a waste of money
We have and never found any gains up to 2000hp
Bring on the data!
Stay tuned!
What I have been informed is most of the injectors are pre set to 1800rmp before they fully come on and the 5.9 love to chuck along at 1700 all day long sipping fuel. And most of the injectors are for marine/GPU's (ground power unit) and some injectors come on way higher in the RPM but I am sure the pump pressure also plays a important role and higher pressure can give better pattern and atomization leading to better, faster, more complete burn and cooler block temperatures. But to high and instant flame thrower with valves not in the volume metric efficiency so bad performance. So it is a fine line and pattern shaped/placement is critical and available fuel in a critical very short time. That is a lot of variables to juggle and fine the sweet spot. I am wanting a sequel turbos(lower EGT's) and better fuel efficiency/torque and peddle responce(less turbo lag / more air/boost) and you did address the intake and exhaust flow in this test. What we were not give was the flow rate, pattern/atomization and air to fuel ratio at RPM levels. And timing adjustments will have a direct effect on tests, so for what you need is a clear cylinder to see and adjust pump pressure versus atomization. Now my second concern is how long will it take to recover the cost of the new and improved injectors? That is were you know if the product model is a viable solution for your customers.
R&D is fun
It sure is!!
So are these nozzles going to be available on their own? I was planning to build some of your 5x.012 nozzles on the spare set of stock injectors I have, but these seem like they may be the perfect setup to max out my first gen's pump with an SXE turbo
That is way too small an injector to be maxing a ve pump. It wasn’t until I went from 6x.018 to 6x.020 that I didn’t see power gains.
@@bcbloc02 6x18’s sounds like a Smokey mess. You’ve got a 1500hp injector on a 500hp pump. What kinda fuel economy are you getting?
@@wadetate6459 I would usually average 18-18.5 driving back and forth to work with it. I never hauled with it though. You can see how smoky it is here czcams.com/video/2BklPIZxEVU/video.html
🤩🤩
Thank you guys truly amazing injectors!!!
I don’t see the 67/67 turbo for sale on your website in the 12 valve section. Is it more of a common rail turbo?
powerdrivendiesel.com/product/power-driven-diesel-hx-super-9-turbo-kit-bundle/
Thanks! Sorry missed your reply 8 months ago. 😂
Wasn’t that the premise of the video to find out what kind of economy and mileage you could get out of it and not how much power because as you stated fuel cost was so high I mean it’s a great video but
So my question is can you do it for idi? As in GM6.5 turbo?
Cheers
No sorry we do not offer anything for those platforms
Sounds like someone has been talking to Leeny and all his fancy new equipment.
Yep. Just connect the dots.
👍
Do you think you will come out with a set for ve pumps?
Eventually
I'm looking for a set for my truck it's VE pump if they can compare to a 5x18 injector performance but run cleaner and it lower EGTs I'll be sold on them
I need a set for my truck or better yet yall need to check my 24v out lol
I thot black smoke was unburned fuel how more smoke more efficient? It seems like it’s to much fuel on the full power the rest didn’t smoke to much. I also thought more un burned fuel made egt hotter?
Vp44 guy here. What are the odds of a set for us?
Yes please
