Yeardley Smith is 56 and still doing that little girl voice. Amazing.
what is amazing about that?
I always thought she was cute. ❤
Mr burns voice is just amazing
I think his voice is great too. I like when Mr. Burns says favorites like "Excellent.", "Release the hounds.", "Ahoy-hoy." (when answering the phone). Or when he's being over-the-top sarcastic. He's hilarious.
@@YBABTU you forgot his greatest line is 'hmmm.. Simpson ey ?' Every time Homer is brought to his attention
@@Jasonlimitless "i'll make sure to remember that"
Damn straight.
@@henrikborgen1017 unfortunately for Mr. Smithers, Mr. Burns is--
If people doubt the acting required to make the characters come alive in the show, they should really see these live readings. Here the talent is so obvious. No animation, no music, nothing. Just the actors, and they still manage to make it so honest and real.
Each character being an extension of the actor. MEL BLANC's son marveled at the depth of his father's physical and facial mannerisms, that he saw in person, and captured by the cartoonist. Same situation here, decades later.
We FREAK and giggle with the glee of children when we see this grown-up , instead of the cartoon character! We realize that this person IS THE CHARACTER!
crazy to see her do Lisa's voice.
I’m really astounded how she can make that voice, it’s impossible for me to change mine :0
Her real voice is almost the same
It's just her real voice slightly raised.
@@MrParkerman6 it is but its raised to a pint that seems out of her range. clearly it isnt tho
If I was a famous voice actor with a very recognizable character voice I would randomly dial phone numbers and be in character the whole time. It would never get old..
Like Yeardley Smith (Lisa) and Nancy Cartwright (Bart) do to Hank Azaria (Moe)?
@@iandude1 The fuck???
@@phedrikinss3874 It's a running joke throughout the show. Bart and Lisa prank call Moe, asking for Hugh Jass, Mike Rotch, Jacques Strap, Amanda Hugnkiss, etc...
MGS Snake did that.
You've found your purpose.. make
it so. Don't try- do. Period.
After DECADES in an industry that treats people like yesterday's newspaper, I was blessed to learn that I exhibit a certain expressive "technique" that certain parties find quite stimulating. No, I won't reveal that (and to think, I thought I had to smoke or drink to develop a "whisky" voice, or be born with pipes like James Earl or Barry). Life is funny that way.
We want to see YOUR NAME is credits, not lights.
MEL, DON MESSICK, FANNY BRICE, DAWS BUTLER, JUNE FORAY, PAUL FREES, ROBERT Q BRYAN (the ORIGINAL ELMER FUDD) PENNY SINGLETON, KENNY DELMAR, JANET WALDO, FRED REID et al are waiting for you to join their ranks. Do it! (I'll get back to some serious pillow talk with "JUDY, JUDY, JUDY (and NO, CARY GRANT never mouthed that on film. Rather, it was TONY CURTIS [in the movie SOME LIKE IT HOT] spoofing GRANT'S stage persona. True story)!
I would just love to watch all simpsons episodes like this. Read and narrated live on stage. Absolutely awesome.
You would watch a couple episodes and you would call it off.
A full episode. Like a fan favorite at a con would work.
The fact that I can actually visually remember the scene they’re reenacting shows how great The Simpson’s is.
Or just shows how good you are at remembering things
@Aussie Cockatoo no, the real joke is people calling horrible shows like Rick and Morty, Gravity Falls, Adventure Time good. That's the real joke, how bad these new shows are

Lisa Simpson so much innocence
Lisa is best one!
Same. And I also love Bart and his voice too
Of *course* you would say this about yourself.
Jack Torrance Says the guy with a fake Jack Torrance account
I like it when ever Mr. Burns says "eexcelent" or "relese the hounds"
How predictable and sad. You even misspelled release

I just noticed how much Stewie Griffin sounds like Mr Burns...
Rahel Erki it's almost like Family Guy is a Simpsons clone
Seth Macfarlane is so overrated. Esp compared to Hank and Dan.
@@radioactivification hes unoriginal only American dad and the orville are his best shows
Yes, then again Family Guy is a shitty rip-off of The Simpsons.
Can you heathens just enjoy both? The Simpsons are dead have been for the past 10 years Family Guy and American Dad are better...as your mayor please accept this
I remember that episode and they did it exactly as it was in the episode. Fantastic!
No they didn't, Burns said he'd shred her like a Christmas card in the episode instead of the line given here.
Lara No they didn't. Shearer said, "My God are you always on?" a lot angrier here than he did on the episode.
You can tell the writing is really good when the audience is laughing hard to a verbal description of a visual gag they haven't actually seen.
If I close my eyes I can see exactly how the storyboards for this scene would go... awesome
Has Al Jean ever done voice work. He's got a character voice for sure.
I can´t .. My mom is not picking me up from an hour.. LOL
Seeing Harry do the Mr. Burns voice is like seeing Bob Ross make a painting. You don't think something amazing is gonna be there but it just happens
Nothing as soothing as watching Bobb Ross make a painting eh.
Yes, watching him as Mr. Burns is magical.
I wasn’t surprised at all that it was a Jewish man playing that part. And comparing him to Bob Ross is blasphemy.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Shut your fucking moth, don't bring religion here, that's where trouble on this fucking planet starts is when take beliefs out into the real world. When Al Jean reads the stage direction it really makes you realize how incredible the writing really is... I thank God everyday for the Simpsons... The greatest show ever.... and now that they've been on TV for so long and broken all these record it just goes to show you.
An underrated form of art.
I have always had the biggest crush on Yeardley. She is so sweet. I love the line

Lisa's voice actor is so AWESUM!
*awesome
I don't know if it's just me, but do they actually sorta resemble their characters a bit? That's awesome if that's intentional.
+Mii4210 Harry Shearer does about a hundred different characters on The Simpsons... Who does he resemble the most?
Oh I'd have to watch this again or something to figure that one out lmao XD
+Mii4210 i think he looks most like mr burns
+NashVideoGram and Dan most definitely resembles Homer 100 percent. I thought I was going crazy when I have those thoughts
I thought so too!!
It is unreal to watch this. It's like reverse reality. When I hear their forces I can't get the images of the characters out of my head. LOL
I am a huge huge lover and fan of Mr Burns. He is so awesome and excellent. And Harry Shearer is truly awesome too. And he is excellent as well. You rock Harry and Mr Burns.
Excellent. Rachael Johnson
I actually watched that episode... :D

Rax135 I haven't seen that episode in years.
Which episode was it??
Lisa's voice is so adorable :)
The way Harry does the "what do you think of today's popular music scene?" line and the way he looks at Yeardley is absolute gold. He's 100% into the character.
This is why the simpsons sitcom animation is the best in the whole universe. Best voice-over actress who did the stunning job as they always does, funny and witty script/story/plot, simple but very creative, et cetera. The simpsons sitcom have a unique and interesting/intriguing style of conveying the story of it's own terms. I wish this sitcom keeps maintain it's position and never end just like other sitcom. This is simply the best U.S sitcom ever made. Thanks to matt groening who directed and created this whole episode (well it's just an assumption so don't judge) and the other department who brought simpsons family back to life. Thanks for the hard work and their devotion including lisa, mr.burns, homer, bart, smithers, marge, moe, dr.hibbert, maggie, ned and his wife, lovejoy and his wife, chief wiggum and his goons, the trio bullies, milhouse, and many other voice actress. Once again, thank you. This sitcom means a lot to me.
I accutally remember I have watched that scene, they are really awesome voice-actors!
Lisa will be a hard part to recast if Yeardly Smith could no longer do it, very iconic.
both Actors are just awesome 👌
There's a clip somewhere on CZcams with Harry Shearer essentially speaking to himself for long periods, as he does both Burns and Smithers.
I'm tempted to say that's the greatest TV show ever. I remember it from the Tracy Ullman years. They've never lost their crazy appeal.
Wow, it's so cool to finally see actors doing cartoon voices. Thank you so much for uploading this! :D
Except that due to the horrifically bad camera work, you can't. :-(
so cool seeing the people behind the voices
"My God, are you ALWAYS on?!?!" ROTFLMAO! That episode was great!
Yeardley Smith was my childhood sweetheart! I loved her in Mathnet on Square One TV and Tales from the Darkside!!! ♥♥♥
Proof that the Simpsons would still work with a laugh track. This take was also much funnier than the one they used in the show.
The fact that they could come up with such brilliant satire and present it in a way that was appealing to kids and adults was pretty phenomenal. The early years of this show were just legendary.
Yeardly is actually a pretty good actress and she's without a doubt very pretty and adorable. I love chicks with those adorable faces that match their even more adorable and distinct voices.... Fran, Yeardly and Jennifer Tilly as well. ❤️❤️❤️
i love the end of maximum overdrive when yeardly goes "im gonna whoops my cookies"
then fade out and you shook me all night long plays
Check her out in The Legend of Billie Jean. She's mouthy at hell!
Just finished rewatching that episode. it's awesome x).
wow seeing mr. shearer do burns live is really cool.
Harry Shearer Is Such A good Comedian
I second the people who enjoyed this more. I just love seeing actors and other TV/filmmakers at work (cameramen, editors, etc.)
I remember seeing Yeardley in a Stephen King movie back in the eighties with Emilio Esteves, think it was called Wired.
maximum overdrive
Hey, you didn't tell me the new issue of Weird was out.
That's WIRED! Lol ;)
Alba Productions maximum overdrive
Maximum Overdrive.
OMG. Did you see that? I'm giving up my hopes in being a voice actor!
I mean, they looked like they could've done that in their sleep! That was brilliant work, especially on Yeardley's part.
Top tier voice actors. So impressive.
How we all love the Simpsons. Yay! This was great.

it is cool to watch them do the voices.
The way they sit on their seats, WOW I mean just wow, they are geniuses of the monumental kind, oh wow, how incredible!! Sarcasm over....
That was enjoyable on several levels 👏👏👏👏
i like how yeardley smith asked if they wanted to set it up giving her and shearer a chance to look over the script.
I wanted to see other voices as well. I love seeing one person do 3 or more different voices, it's Amazing.
I will always remember, and cherish, her part in Herman's Head
She does that voice so perfectly because it's her own voice. I remember them mentioning it when she was on Herman's Head. God, I'm old. I remember Herman's Head.
Uh yeah, voice actors always use their own voice. It's kinda hard to use another persons voice?
@@leob4403 The voice of Lisa Simpson is Yeardly's normal speaking voice, she's not putting on an affect like the rest of them. Now go troll someone else
Mr Burns is my favorite character
That was fun. I remember that episode.
i watched this episode and i loved it!!!!
XD That episode was fantastic! And their read of it was just as good.
I love how their actions are translated into the on screen characters.
16 years later and this is just now showing up as a suggested video?! I feel cheated for not seeing this 16 years ago
This is one of my favorite episodes :)
I absolutely loved this video I knew who played Lisa, Yeardley Smith who also played in Maximum Overdrive which I LOVED, her voice's dramatics catches your attention. Her tone is unusual & I think thats why I like it so much, but I never knew who Played C.M. Burns until now. Mr Burns is the one we love to hate lol
Great episode
I remember Yeardley from "Inside Herman's Head"...she was an actress on the show (Fox, early 90s when all of there shows had a green-ish tint color)
One of the best episodes
I LOVE LISA
SHE'S SO SMART :)
S-M-R-T....I mean, S-M-A-R-T :))
Delightful. Makes me think: it would be fantastic to see a video recording of just one table read of the show, clearly and smoothly recorded, with professional editing done to it. The only Simpsons live read video I've tried watching was dreadful-- basically someone holding her/his phone up at a big TV screen that seems about 20 feet away (and there were people milling around in the room, their silhouettes very distracting).
This is great!
This was a great ep.
this video made my day
I love this!!!
those guys are soooooo talented
I can't! My mom's not picking me up for an hour!
How is this show still on the air? The SImpsons was an ancient TV show when this video was uploaded 13 years ago.
Regardless, for me, Maximum Overdrive will always be the ultimate Yeardley Smith performance.
I would also have to say Legend of Billy Jean was also very good
She was also on momas family with vicki Lawrence.
i love these guys
The episode in question debuted here yesterday. Heh, I was mouthing it along when the scene came up because I knew from watching this video so much. Heh.
yearly Smith cracked me up when she played the newlywed in the Movie Maximum Overdrive. I’ve been a fan ever since!
I get to said they did a good job of the voice of Lisa Simpson and mr burns I love this is what I call a new video on here can't wait to watch this tonight this is a good video for me I love this on my CZcams app
"I won't take your blood ponies!"
If you've seen the episode they're reading it's just as funny as watching that - brilliant.
Oh man, I laughed just as much as when I saw the actual episode....
The episode they are reading from is "Fraudcast News" the 22nd and last episode of The Simpsons' fifteenth season. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on May 23, 2004

God...it was like i was seeing that chapter again in my mind!!!!!
Watched this episode scene. Freakin' hilarious!
As I watched it, I thought "amazing impersonation of Lisa and Mr Burns" , but of course they are the original voices.
Lisa Simpsons Voice is very soothing and Cute and sweet and Burn's voice Ogre! the lines they were reading I loved that episode The Dress Press" the name Lisa's Newspaper.
Excellent!D How I love them all
I guess Mr. Burns didn't know that Lisa is good at playing instruments, like her saxophone. The voice actors who did them are very good, since they have great talent.
I loved watching this
Loved her in Maximum Overdrive.
Yeardley Smith is so talented. She does Lisa so good
