- This is my Spoiler Free You Season 4 Review. Did you enjoy season 4 of You on Netflix? Explain your thoughts on this series, your reaction, all three seasons, and this final episode ending. This is part 1, but did you enjoy part 2?
Joe Goldberg is back, and this time he's on the other side of the pond. He's starting a new life in London with a new alias: Jonathan Moore, professor of English Literature. He also ends up mingling with members of the English capital's high society, which brings a whole new cast of characters into the mix - including the so-called 'Eat the Rich Killer'. Now living in London, Joe tries to lay low and resist old habits... until he's forced to tie up loose ends and bond with a circle of wealthy socialites.
Penn Badgley plays Joe.

How does Season 4 compare to the other three? What the heck is going to happen in part two?!
@AustinBurke how do you have early access to part 2?
I'm really not all that into it to be honest I feel like it's a bit unrealistic for him to move to Europe and be able to become a teacher teaching underage students all while at the same time there's news reports of hidden being savagely murdered by his wife or whatever back in the United States other than that I just feel a lot more and I don't even know who his obsession is at this point and I'm one episode Away part 1 of season 4 I really don't understand why they did the whole to part thing especially since they are only waiting one month to release the other half just released the whole thing if it is available please
this season is a disappointment so far

As good as seasons 1-3 were I like that they're switching things up instead of the same thing over and over
I feel that!
Yeah it is not the same long milked story. I LOVE THAT
it was different, but not different in a good way to me. joe isn't even charismatic to me anymore. too many pretentious posh people w/annoying accents idk.
@@sib9769 The women’s accents is so sexy
@@sib9769 the rich snobs are the best we get to watch em die
This show is my guilty pleasure. It's so over the top but I like it so much
Why do every women in the comments (in the trailer’s comment section mostly)say that shit ‘guilty pleasure’, it’s very well written so of course you like it. Is it because he’s a serial killer?
@@josephbth5562 ikr
@@josephbth5562 are you broken, we shouldn’t be enjoying watching a serial killer so obviously it’s a guilty pleasure
@@josephbth5562 and I get that it’s well written but your still watching a murderer
@@josephbth5562 it's not that well written mate I mean most of the characters are like cartoon characters and you'd never hear anyone talk like that in real life. But it's extremely enjoyable so I think I'd class that as a guilty pleasure
When people say that this season is different from what we got in 1-3 I think that’s a good thing, it’s been like that tho from each season anyway, first we basically get a new cast every season,Joes character changes in some way each season he’s thrown a new obstacle slash objective each season I think It’s good how they do that he goes from Serial killer,To anti Hero,Protector,to Sherlock in this one,I’m psyched for part 2
We got a woke gen z season 4 that's all we got
Ok - sure they switched it up - doesn’t mean it’s good or particularly well written.
@@jump23kid I didn’t say I liked any of the side characters I really don’t
I would say he's been a serial killer the entire time...and that's what the whole show is about
My biggest issue with part 1 of season 4 the first five episodes is I feel like it's highly unrealistic so there's a ton of newspaper clippings that show up two or three episodes into season 4 showing Joe Goldberg or Goldblum whatever his last name was probably not even his real last name but I don't understand how he became a teacher at such a fancy school like they just let any American move over to that country and take over positions as school teachers and it's not like he was just keeping math or anyting is teaching someone of a literature class I know he's supposably drained Love's secret bank account but still having a fake identification to the point where you can actually work at a school is a bit nonsense that's never happening
It really sucks. It was a mistake killing Love.
@@coachYte or the writing is just 💩
Agreed
Is she really dead? If Rhys is actually not imaginary then it must be that he is connected somehow to Love. Only Love knows Joe this well.
This show really gave me my Dexter Fix and i love it for it
Nothing can top dexter
I’m enjoying it, it definitely has a different vibe than the previous three seasons but I felt like the twist was entirely predictable.
agreed. I saw it coming a mile away
Yeah it was pretty clear although I did suspect Kate for q moment
I knew it was Rhys when, after the two first meet, Rhys calls him by his name (Jonathan) and walks away. The same thing happened in Season 2 episode 1 with Love. She called him Will when he hadn't given his name yet
Enjoying what exactly? Predictable as fuck and pretty much a boring whodunnit. Not to mention Kate is annoying.
Part 2 better make the show interesting again.
Was I the only one who pretty much worked out who the Eat the Rich Killer was from Episode 1?
🙋🙋
It was obvious but Its still interesting
And I told myself, "Nah, it isn't going to be that predictable." And then it did😭
@@Anonymous-uz6oi I think there is a twist that is yet to come that is Unpredictable.
I thought it was the student he teaches lol😂
For the first time i think joe may be capable of a relationship without the obsessive killing thing
famous last words lmao
How much do you regret saying that after watching the second part? Lol
It was boring at certain parts so I skipped forward. Didn’t care about any new characters. 🤷🏽♂️ Hope the ending is done well tho.
Ryhs was too simple and a stearaway, it's someone else controlling him.. Wait fot it, there's still 5 episodes left.
Peach Salinger and Love Quinn come from high End money families who hired detectives to detect their deaths.
I don't want this show to end, it's utter Brilliance and Penn is perfectly casted,(Rewards Earned)
But my guess is, he is put in his cage, the door shuts, and the show ends....by who???
I think it's Kate who is the second killer.
@@MaatjuhhhNot any chance, Kate is wayyy too Simple. This is such a well written series, they would never make it that easy. I have a feeling we are going to be mind blown and it's coming from left field
@@laurakarin1217 Please. I wanna be surprised! I didn't see Rhys coming. That was a exciting surprise. On the other hand, I've been betting on Kate and if she isn't the killer, then I'm so wrong for assuming that she with her personality would be the killer. Roald would be too obvious. Maybe it is the student? Darn you, you've made my mind go crazy again lol.
@@Maatjuhhh Think of the show as a whole, not 4 episodes in Paris, If it was Kate, the first 3 seasons meant nothing when it has so many open holes...
I’m enjoying it so far ,it’s not as strong as previous seasons but will continue watching
I didn't like the whole Eliot - Quinn family thing. Do they know he is alive? Don't they? How did they find him? So they didn't buy Love's death? Don't they want to clear up Love's name? Do they know his history??
I would expect Joe's past to catch up with him. it's getting more and more "unrealistic" and the unanswered questions pile up and bother me..
Not sure I like this season actually
I also like that they're doing this new thing. And how Johnathan/Joe hates murder mysteries
I think it's gud for character because he even doing jus stalking now he is doing to find a killer. And if he does get caught and is innocent
I could see Joe taking up investigations in London like a Aiden pierce 😂
For the review on the second part, just have “Youuu” every time you mention the title.
LOL omg yes
Didn’t love it as much as the last season! But we will see after part 2!
I feel the same and I didn’t care for Kate. I actually miss Love tbh
Yea I don’t like it either
It was different I love Joe will always watch it for him. If they have another season I would like tonsee it back on the states
I still miss love so so much. Seriously hope somehow she comes back…yes it’s unrealistic but the entire show is to an extent bring LOVE back
Love all your videos so much!
Thanks:)
I didn't care for how every time he goes looking for someone or someplace he stumbles across them immediately. I can suspend my disbelief to a certain point but, for example, when he goes to the factory to chop Malcolm up the only worker in the place decides he's going to the pub to watch the football game. Not only that but he announces as much as he's leaving while talking on the phone to whoever.
Binged it real fast enjoyed it. Glad to see something new
Took some time to build but after watching all of 1 & 2, it was AWESOME!
Austin I'm still confused and don't understand why season 4 was broken into 2 parts which doesn't make any sense. Netflix can just put all 10 episodes like they did in the past... They pretty much did the same thing with the Stranger Things. This series truly is amazing as always.
It's not based on a book, that's why; it's home cooked. In the third book, Joe goes to jail . . .
Rhys hasn't interacted with anyone other than Joe throughout the whole 5 episods. I haven't seen anyone else talk about this, it's certainly suspect since he always is just in the background or appears next to Joe. The only outlyer is the eulogy. But that is likely Joe just seeing Rhys, when in reality it's someone else.
Joe is the killer having some kind of mental breakdown. That's the twist for part 2.
Someone asks about Rys not coming to the country house, but it would be am interesting twist if executed well.
That's dumb, the guy is an famous author and is running for mayor of London so he's obviously a real person
I think you are right! Rhys is running for the mayor of London . True, but only Joe was watching that. The hatred he has for these rich boys and girls comes from his hatred to the rich, spoiled Love. It is all in his head to distance himself- like he always do- from his heinous crimes. My theory though is that Love is still alive and she is somehow connected to Rhys.
I found this to be a baby copycat of who done it and pretty little liars I was very dissappointed
Idk I wasn't feeling it.. I tried to watch it a few times and zone out each time. Disappointed
It pretty good
Agree I felt the same
@@alexussilva4527 u felt same it was good
I enjoyed the change because how many times do we have to see Joe killing because of 'love'🤣🤣. I liked it a lot especially the moments with Joe and his thought ....he always cracks me up !! However episode 5 for me took me out of it..didnt like it, the characters were so annoying, the reveal could have been better!! Looking forward to part 2 though because I saw someone in the preview and I am so curious abt it!! Btw, for me, the Kate character annoyed the hell out of me, cldn't care if she died (wanted her to actually) and I saw no chemistry btw her and Penn!!
Kate's character is annoying. She sees herself as morally better than the others, but she isn't. She always has this fake tough girl act on but it isn't convincing. She moved on extremely quick after Malcolm's death.
Same about him and Kate, I saw no chemistry. And I don’t like how they’ve made the character so moany. I don’t think that’s the type of person Joes character likes.
Consistency is key Austin, 🎵YOUUUU🎵
😂
I'm loving this season love different atmosphere
why did rhys install that app in joe's phone if he wanted to frame him in the beginning ??
From episode 5, I think he wanted to try to tap Joe back into murdering people but then he found out face to face he’s not built to kill like he used to be and now he regrets giving him a chance
Review Farzi Austin! It’s a new show by the makers of The Family Man on Prime Video! Btw when is the next livestream?
You should definitely make a skip to just the review portion. I don’t want a story synopsis every time. This is coming from a long time fan btw. Not trying to come off rude. Just a suggestion
Rheys is the stalker but Blessing however killed Malcom because S4 E5 she mention when he stabbed Malcom did he deflate but Joe never mentioned how he died,Nobody found body
No Roald said Malcom was dead with a knife in his chest so she asked the question she isn't the killer that's for sure
But there are 2 killers and I know the other one except Rhys but it's a spoiler if you want to know let's discuss
@Adithya A.S. Roald said Joe killed him in cold blood and showed the flash back but but absolutely no one mentioned the knife ( then blessing asked the question about the knife and Roald shut her down and didnt notice because he was drug fueled) and how he died all they know was the pinky was found
@@adithyaa.s.8339 Sure bro open to a discussion, what's your theory?
@@johnconstantine2518 Actually you are right but Blessing as a killer is weird maybe it's a mistake by the writers idk
I’m just confused at what these new characters are supposed to achieve. Who’s relating to these guys?
I think that’s the point. They’re all rich people who were not supposed to relate to. We’re supposed to relate to the villain who’s fighting against the rich obnoxious snobs.
I’ve enjoyed all of You season up until now, You is honestly one of my favorite shows but this season was such a big let down.
Okay so for starters my god why did they have to make the characters so damn bland and boring, like I understand they are trying to give off the Rich London Vibes/Persona but my god were these the most annoying, bland, boring characters I ever seen. Hell Benji from Season 1 only had 2 eps and he was more of enjoyable character then a lot of the characters who were in 5 eps of this season. Also what’s up with this stalking murder mystery type shit going on, by the looks of the trailer I was sure it was going to be someone from a past season coming back to taunt him like Elle or someone why the hell is it Rhy???? Like we only saw this dude like twice in Ep 1, why tf is he so obsessed with Joe like he never gave true intentions of why expect he hates the rich and wants Joe to kill them but DUDE you literally killed like 3 of them already why the hell do you need Joe help seems like you doing it perfectly fine by yourself 😂😂. This season so far off to a bad start I hope the next 5 eps pick up a little more.
Based off what I know
I think his been following Joe for years
Almost like
Admiring him I think his similar to Joe sick and all that just Joe does things differently low-key out of love
Point is I think his a fan of Joe and calls it I’m impressed and fascinated by your work as if Joe is a artist
Probably Rys is Joe's brother
Good shout 👏
I agree
i feel like i’m watching ‘murder she wrote’
l think they revealed the killer way too early. Im not that excited for part 2 but lm still gonna watch it.

A lot of people are saying rhys isn't real but It doesn't make sense. Joe has been aware of the things he's done and he's never had an alter ego or a new persona so why would he have one now?
why do they hold.episodes ffs? well f netflix. better off waiting for the whole thing to be available to properly binge it
Probably to ensure they’ll get two months of payments off anyone who wants to watch it. Or they’ll likely pirate 🤷🏼♂️
@@danielyeichs for the suckers who cant wait lol. no need to watch it now just bc they posted the incomplete thing.. ppl had no problem waiting the 2 years they make you wait for the season. i dont see why it wouldnt be just as easy to wait for the whole thing so its properly "bingeable". makes no sense... ppl are so easily manipulated 😆 🤣 😂

Can’t even comprehend how people say they actually liked this season. Characters were all way over the top ridiculous just like the storyline
I loved this season!
A shallow commentary about how awful the rich are from a company that deliberately split this season in half to get more money from people in a hard economic time and doesn't pay its animators properly
that’s not really the commentary though. The show isn’t trying to get you to side with Rhys or even Joe.
@@shanegallagher3524 what is the commentary then? :)
@@philipculturesfilm5344 that they’re all pieces of shit with their own flimsy morals and hypocrisies. Joe and Rhys are two white saviours who think they are justified in what they do because there are people worse than them. Not every rich person in the season is portrayed as bad. Kate and Phoebe in particular are portrayed quite well.
The title of the show is "You" and I think they strayed too far from there. I love the Marianne scene and the character of Kate. Hopefully Season 4 part 2 will be better. I'm going to watch it a second time.
Its really not that bad if you compare it to 13RW s2, s3 and s4 which is just go from bad to qworst every season. Its a very good season with a different approach.
You’re not supposed to like the characters! I think they WANT you to root between Joe and Rhys (choose your lesser between 2 evils)
Part 1 of season 4 is good, especially since it’s a murder mystery and I love murder mysteries. But I do think that the first 3 seasons are a bit better. Especially season 1 and 2, those are my favourite seasons. And Love is my favourite character so it did feel different without her. I really hope that she will be back for part 2. In my opinion I give both season 1 and 2 a 9/10, I give season 3 an 8/10 and I give part 1 of season 4 a 7.5 or 7.7/10. We’ll see how part 2 is which I’m excited for!
Keep an eye out for Nadia
Finally! Someone agrees

I got bored with season 3 and quit halfway through. This actually sounds interesting again.

Awesome!!
Loved season one; thought season two was pretty good; however season three was a bit rough. Hope this season is an upgrade from season three.
You pretty much became Dexter.
Here's my Theory so far Rhys doesn't exist ... he's in his imagination... or a projection of what he's thinking.... my clue... I HAVENT SEEN RHYS TALK TO ANYONE BUT JOE. so it's a combination Edgar Allen Poe mystery mixed with Fight Club... Rhys is like Tyler Durden.
He’s talked about in the very first episode from that schoolgirl who recommends the book, and has talked on video to the public tho?
@Luis Aponte nope I was right ... Tyler Durden in his imagination.
I suspected Rhys right from the start, but not because of the plot points. I recognized the actor as Stephen Bonnet, the psychopath from Outlander.
That actor is really good at portraying those kinds of characters. It's the twinkle in his eye that can shift from kind and trustworthy, to cruel and sadistic, in an instant.
Casting him in this role was perfect.
Admittedly the new characters are forgettable. But really glad that they changed things up as things were becoming too much of the same in season 3.
It's abit like fast furious franchise....First 3 films possibly 4 were about street racing. But then they changed things to something completely different.
I love season 4 and I loooove that it is set in London, she looks very sexy in this series.
Sllooowww burn!
I ain fuccin wit it
Every season gets worse, this hits a new low, why hasn't it been cancelled yet. Bagley is good but that's it now.
They’ve annihilated the show in season 4, like wtf? It’s absolutely horrendous compared to the first 3
4:53 I disagree. I feel every season was different. Season 1 was the best followed by Season 3. Season 2 was boring.
How do you have access to Part II?
Actually season 2 was nice because of love she stole the show
I feel like I'm the only person who love all season 1,2,3 and now this season 4 is my favorite. Lol.
I think this season isn’t as beautiful looking as the other seasons cuz it’s in London . No offense but it’s hard to make London look as beautiful as California and New York lol.

I get a little annoyed when people call Joe a serial Killer. Murderer? Yes, absolutely. But he is not a Serial Killer
He is literally a serial killer though. By definition, a serial killer is someone who has killed 3 or more people. He’s killed far more than 3
@@THENGSandSTUFF i guess its just semantics then. Unless the theories that Rhys is a figment of Joe's imagination are true, then he definitely is
Im not as hooked!
Yeah it's shocking...ly bad
I turned it off after 3 eps, was boring
Although I do like that outlanders Stephen bonnet is in it (ed speleers)
I didnt like season 4 its so diffrent compared to the previous seasons
It was good, but I figured out who the killer was immediately, and was really frustrated joe didn't put it together. As smart as he is, how did he not figure it out
The killer also turned into an idiot in the end as well
Well I feel you but they also made it a point to show the instant connection that joe and rhys had towards each other so even if joe had that suspicion he probably would try to ignore it because he liked him so much
the characters are way too over the top. the story is good though. so far not enjoying as much as the first 3.
Did anyone notice that in the last episode when Roald want to kill Joe the princess say "Jonathan, when you STABBED Malcom did he, deflate like a hot-air ballon? " (23:09 episode 5) HOW COULD SHE HAVE KNOWN THAT HE HAD STABBED HIM ???
Season 3 was amazing !!!! This season is shockingly bad !!!!! Like I couldn’t care less about this season now
dexter-ish
How so?
Nah, dexter only kills criminals
It's such an embarrassing insult to your intelligence. The British dialogue was so off, using outdated expressions and using the wrong words in the wrong places. The 20 grand a week flat, the getting to know celebrities, while supposed to be laying low and cheating a London university into believing that you're a professor? Really? This and a plot with more holes in it than Bonnie & Clyde's Ford.
I disagree with the majority, I felt Beck was so monotone compared to Love. Season two seemed like the perfect blend of romance, psychological drama and whodunit thriller. I really enjoyed Love's evolution from secrecy and romance to mask fully removed and now I'm Joe's equal vibes. Season 4 is just 🤮. Minor connections to Season 1-3 and Joe feels lost in translation. At least Joe and the supporting characters particularly in season 2 had personality #notmyJoe
I personally hate season 4. It's follows a disappointing 'who done it' narrative. The new characters are awful to Joe and unlikeable.
