- Interior designer and ceramic artist Trudy Crane of Lookslikewhite knows a thing or two about decorating with her studio’s namesake hue. See inside her 1,200-square-foot Montreal loft that’s blanketed in the snowy shade, and get her expert tips on using white in a small space.
Inspired by Scandinavian style, Trudy loves the simplicity of white. To bring warmth to the shade, she relied on different colors of wood, rustic touches, mirrors and crystal details. Exposed brick, layers of texture and French country accents liven up the space, while easy-to-clean fabrics and slipcovers prevent the loft from feeling too precious. Multiple large windows allow plenty of light to flood in, visually expanding the square-footage.

From watching so many interior videos, I'm learning that style goes hand in hand with one's philosophy. When I relate to someone's style, I relate to their approach to life. "Nothing is precious." Just moved in a apartment, like hers...love it... mine is very white also, with different woods... interesting enough, I remember seeing this video a year or so ago, fell in love... sadly my husband passed, and now I have this apartment... life is a journey, for sure...love

I am so into white rooms right now. This is perfectly decorated imo. As she said, it has just the right amount of wood and pops of colour to keep it from looking sterile.
I actually veiwed this video a few times. Okay, maybe more than a few times. And yes, her hair is also white! Lovely. That hallway area would be perfect for book shelves (yeah, I know .., her space)

I love the layering, it's done so well to make the home look cozy and comfortable but not cluttered. The style isn't my preference but gosh I wish I had her vision, such an inviting place.

@@tl1110you're replying to a 6 year old comment 😆 Layering in home decor doesn't strictly mean color, it also means different fabrics and textures. So you put a rug on top of floors, pillows and throws on couches and chairs, curtains and pictures on walls, tchotchkes on tables, etc. It sounds simple but to do it well takes lots of practice and/or forethought.
