If you've ever lost your love for your work, your hobbies, or a sport you used to pursue... You might be able to relate to this film. This adventure absolutely changed the way I relate to running, and I'm so much happier for it. I guess I just needed to change the way I approach running in my own mind. Thank you so much for joining in on this journey
Thank YOU for surviving this. Just remember, you have a worldwide following of complete strangers who admire and respect you, and I dare say "love" you to some degree. You don't have to prove anything to anyone except yourself.
And if you've lost your love for life?
Yep, that is exactly why this one Hit me just right.
To clear my mind, I go or hikes. SOLO.
Tgere are quite a few State, County and a National park trails that one coukd go from 8 to 21 or mire mikes.
Great meditation.
@@backyardrailroader Thanks mate and Eva. I used to run marathons and loved running. Unfortunately I suffered an accident while cycling and am now paraplegic and wheelchair bound. Exercise is hard, I will keep trying tho
Im 72yrs young, and 2 things I've learned is: Life is to important to take seriously, so just go have FUN! ! And, you have to learn to be your own best friend. Set realistic goals. Ones that are flexible. Our bodies change, the world changes. Always be ready to adapt. My prayers are always with you Eva. Stay safe.
Yeah, I'm 72 years on this planet so far. Eva is an inspiration for me. Her honesty, clarity and the way she presents her experiences and feelings helps me to stay in touch with my own.
❤
Very impressive run Eva. It isn’t the distance it is the terrain. That is very difficult to negotiate because of the nature of the trail. As you said there are many rattlesnakes and cactus to pass. Running in the rocks while very tired is quite dangerous because you are too tired to focus on where your next step is going to go ,yet it is important that you do. Bravo! Kindest regards Your Pal Al
Watching this video made me happy. I was an athlete and an outdoors woman when I was younger. I had many adventures. My body has worn out now and I cannot do most of my favorite things, but seeing your pure joy for running is beautiful. Even though I cannot run, or hike anymore, I still try and get out to my favorite places and swim, paddle and enjoy nature. I was a vanlife for years and I am so grateful for those memories. ❤
It was great meeting you in Anchorage last week. We are looking forward to your videos about the Aleutians. At 70, I can't do things I could do at 60, but I am leaving Alaska next month to motorcycle to Tierra del Fuego. You young kids serve as an inspiration to us senior citizens.
Yeah, I'm 72 years on. Eva is such an inspiration for me, her honesty and clarity her experiences and feelings helps me to stay in touch with my own.
I am.45
I am 71 .........and she is indeed an inspiration....how NOT to live in HER extremely neurotic way🤣😂🤣
@FredCarpenter-pm8bf Agreed! 👌
I am 47. I used to run every weekend in the New Mexico wilderness when I was in my 20’s before marriage. I thought my wild days are over and YOU sir gives me something to look forward to when I turn 60 or 70!
Every time you get down on yourself just remember how you lift the rest of us up with your courage and inspiration. Love your adventures even though I'm constantly worried about your safety.
she don't lift me up,
Sunshine! :/
Oh she definitely lifts my snake up in my trousers an rock hard 😅
Indeed

She lifts me up.
Why do you watch her channel ?
Eva, your smile, when you're showing your happiness, is very infectious. I find myself smiling when you're smiling. As I watched this episode of you enjoying some down time in the water,I found myself smiling along with you.
Thank you for brightening my day. ❤️😊
Hi Eva. As a new trail runner, outdoor enthusiast and someone just enjoying and loving life, I must say your channel and content is truly inspiring! Thank you, and keep it up!
Hi Eva
You are an absolutely phenomenal human being.
You are so loved by so many.
I have been showing my daughter (12yrs) your videos and how much of an inspiration you are. Just know you are much loved around the world.
Sending love from Australia!
Ahhh!!!
Will do Eva!
You will make her day once I show her your reply while we watch your latest video.(again!)
Thank you so much!

@@evazubeckI wish if my son could make vlogs with you , his channel is arhamchohan,

What makes me happy is to see young people figuring things out, alone, and challenged to be real, dig deep and think hard; learning to regroup, reassess, and upgrade one's joy in the journey. You are such a one. I'm so happy for you!
Encouraging
❤
Eva, your integrity your honesty are inspirational! This run over the Baja was brilliant. thank you for introducing such a magnificent landscape to us all. Your description of 'the wall' brilliant. Since my retirement, I have followed your exploits intermittently and many is the time that your challenges have been the motivation and the inspiration I have needed!
All the way through I was wondering where Vilk was, SO happy to see him at the end and that he's still part of your life!
Vilk could have made that trek easily!
@@LuvThyMind29 rattlesnakes

@@valerievaleri Well they also exist in a lot of the regions they've been in the US
You took the right approach! If you’re going to run to compete with yourself or to beat an unrealistic benchmark, you will hate yourself for it. Run because its fun for you and you have a good time and the end result isn’t to prove anything to anyone else. No one cares unless you’re a professional runner seeking to win. Then the discipline is all important. If you don’t see yourself being a running champion, you’re free to do what you want!
Yes! Truths are being told! :)
I tried to run on a mountain but faild.strong hearts beat make make be 😢
Running is freeing. You become a child again. It should always be fun. When you make it like a job and overdo it, it becomes a dreaded task IMHO. ENJOY it and I’m glad for you.😊
Something similar happened to Richard Feynman, one of the great physicists of the 20th century, after the war. He got into a very similar funk and his way out was the same, instead of constantly evaluating his accomplishments he decided just to have fun with physics and only do it for the joy of doing it.
Eva, as a guy who has been with you since Syria, I've seen you go through some Hi's and lows over time. The one thing that really stands out to me is the fact that you always handle everything with a poise and grace that not many people have nowadays. YOU inspired me to start running and every time I hit a wall, I ask myself "What would Eva do?" then get up and keep going... Also, if you ever start being hard on yourself over your run times, just remember that since you're such a shorty, you have to take twice as many steps as normal size people. 🤣👍As always, BIG HUGS and much ❤from Tennessee!
You are absolutely amazing! I'm 41, female, single. Honestly, I could never run across Baja like that. I'd be so terrified. Maybe one day I will get the courage to go into the wilderness alone. Until then, your adventures bring me joy.
Where are you?
Memories for a lifetime inspirational as well.. love your courageous sense of adventure and the way you continue to nourish your soul.. as always, thanks for sharing
Your honesty is so inspirational. Not because we like to see you struggle. Not because we like to hear that you feel bad. But because you are so great in telling your story. Because of... you. Thanks for all your videos ☺
I value the honesty so much because there's so huge lack of it in the world. Like everyone tries to cut a "negative" part off her or him and hide it somewhere and only show us a "good" one, where we can see smiles, success, achievements and high performance in overcoming the hardship. It makes feel lonely because it makes impossible to see a real person, and if you don't see a real person, you can't have a tight connection with them, surface chatting only.
Personally i see nothing shameful about failing to achieve something, or quitting some activity, or changing your mind on something. All these things are natural parts of us as human beings.
"But because you are so great in telling your story." Yes, she is!
@@juanitalantang8636very much 😊. Hello from Poland 🇵🇱 and my channel and countryside 🏡!
I constantly have to remind myself that you are a Solo person but you do an outstanding job with the camera work. I can only imagine the effort it takes to create amazing content. Thanks for this ❤
You’re a phenomenal adventurer and so wise. It’s clear you love this life and you’re not just doing things for content. Thanks for taking us along.
I stopped running 15 years ago after lots of injuries caused by my own competition with myself. I'm not running across Baja, but I've also started running again -- on woodland trails, mostly -- without times and with only slight regard to distances. I didn't know what I'd lost until I found that feeling again. Glad you've reconnected with it too.
So happy for you. Keep it up and don't lose sight of the little joys!
I am now old .
Love the video, Eva! I am the most happy when spending time with my wife exploring new places together.
Love that for you guys!
Congratulations on your run Eva! I enjoy your story and admire your courage and dedication! Thank you for sharing your stories!
❤You are a carefree person who lives and strives at the moment. Which the majority of the people are lacking. Eva, more power to you on your life's journey...
You are so badass. I’m 64 and know Baja well. I have literally been on a dirt road for 8 hours with no one or nothing in sight. The lagoon you came across was breathtaking. That alone would of been worth it all to me. I don’t think I could of left it.😊
Eva, your voiceovers are so therapeutic☺ I totally relate to the feeling of your dog's rekindling your joy in running, I experienced the same a couple of months ago after starting my first grown up job. Keep doing what you love, we love to see you that way too.
They're the best arent they :) You too!!
Such a raw and inspirational video! I can't find better words to describe it...your experience became ours, and it's such a huge thing to achieve! Thank you ❤
"Fitness for a purpose - adventure". Love it! That cold plunge had to be revitalizing on day two. And the reunion with Vilk at the end, the smiles and jubilation you showed was the real reason for your run. Life itself is all the competition one needs. Blessings!
You are so brave, Eva! Enjoy your life!
You have no idea how much I needed to watch this. I have been battling an ongoing health issue for the past 2 years that caused me to stop running last October after restarting my running streak. Long boring story with the details but it was making me sicker instead of better. Anyway, I think I have finally conquered the health issue and need to start moving again. I need to remember the fun of running and not just focusing on what I have lost. I'll admit to some tears because I knew and have felt what you were talking about but they were some cathartic tears. I need to find the fun again.
You're the best ..simply amazing adventures..sceneries and stories you're sharing to the world...thank you for all of these
I’m a former athlete, former law enforcement, and person that has, and will likely again experience burnout.
I have learned that burnout is my body and mind telling me to take a break. When I take a break I’m like a hibernating bear. I don’t socialize, do much, or enjoy many things. Eventually, as my mind and body recuperates I start engaging in living again. I become free with my thoughts and feelings. I start making plans and goals, most importantly short term goals to get me to my long term goals, so that I live the life I want.
The wall is a real place and if you don’t hit the wall sometimes you aren’t pushing yourself. It’s a mental barrier to physical distress. Burnout is a physical manifestation of a mental condition. At least that’s how I rationalize it to myself.
Your level of self awareness is to be commended and thank you for sharing your experiences. I’m going to continue to enjoy watching your videos while working on my short term goals to get me to my long term goals.
Keep doing you because it’s pretty damn good!
This is one of my favorite videos from you Eva!! You really hit some of my own nerves with your words here. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing your self and your physical, emotional and mental journeys!
And thank YOU for tuning in :)
It's the same with anything you love in life, if it begins feeling more like a job than a passion, you WILL burn out eventually. That's why a lot of talented artists won't turn their hobby into a business, they don't want to feel obligated to do what they enjoy.
That makes a lot of sense!
You make me cry, helping remind me to live. I love running and I felt an unworthiness to do something I loved after I left in college. It really does affect you.
I had to learn performance and competition wasn’t all I was . I wasn’t a failure, and I had to take some time to heal and process the situation as a whole.
I’m many years out of that time , but even now I’m remembering that freedom of running.
I just really really am happy I found your channel. I hope of day I get to meet you. Run with you.
Thank you for all the time you take to makes these films. You truly could create amazing documentaries and your voice and words just bring so much life.
I proud of you 30s girl! Thank you for choosing to really really live and to be an inspiration to countless people.
What a beautiful message and video. Thank you so much for sharing.
I'm so glad you discovered that the game is yours and yours alone. You can change the rules to suit yourself and find joy anytime you want, without guilt. This is probably my favorite video you have done so far. Safe journies to you, always.
❤
First, this may be my absolute favorite video you’ve ever done. It had a truly groundbreaking feel to it, even though you’ve been doing videos and sharing so many emotional, intimate moments with us. I’m so proud of you for regaining your love and joy, and crossing the Baja and leaping past rattlesnakes was so exciting. My joy at present is screenwriting. I found a form of writing that my soul loves. ❤
Love it Eva! What made me follow you is the story you tell, the ups and the downs. Thank you for the inspiration
👍,.,
Hi Eva, amazing run and amazing video. Seeing your sheet joy, love and resilience is a huge inspiration and your description of why you run touched me. I've had rough points in my life and discovering that trail running in the wilderness is possible has pulled me out and kept me out of dark places and it was one of your films that inspired me in the first place so thank you!
Eva, you are such a pure and beautiful soul. Thank you for bringing us along with you. ❤
I could never run through western Washington without something chasing me. There is just so much to see.
Nice run in Baha. I so hope you find what makes you feel right. You still seem so restless in some ways.
I have found the mountains here to be a lifetime worth if adventure.
Stay safe, super dog hugs to Vilk!
Great to see back and do what’ you do best. Running is your mantra for success and wellness.
Yay! Congrats. Ive been a long time follower of yours. Its been exceptional seeing your journey and your raw honesty over the years. Thank you for sharing.
Happy me is putting me first before anything. Im able to help and love others deeply when I do this.
Thanks Eva!
I (Jim) ran 3 Boston Marathons going back to 1970. I ran in 70's, 80's 90's and have the battle scars to show for it. It was always a battle between success and failure. I totally relate to it. Be Happy with who you are and not beat up on yourself. Your candor and honesty are what makes you special. Thank you for sharing that journey with us. Jim, Harriet and Yuki
you inspired me to start running a while back and now you’ve got me excited to try trail running. this was epic! i can’t wait to try something similar in my area
Thanks for sharing all your challenges and ordeals so honestly with us, we can all learn a lot from you. And the background gets me out of my chair and makes me run with you. The images in the tent rang so many happy memory bells about camping in my youth 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for telling this story. Beautiful!
What makes ME happy is watching you having so much fun Eva.
It's great to see that joy in your face! Thanks for sharing your adventures.
Beautiful. The entire journey. Thank you for sharing.
Hey, Eva, I hope you see this. I just want to say that your perfectionism is your way to justify your existence, because deep down you feel that you cannot just be yourself. Best of luck to you!
Your courage never ceases to amaze me.
Wow this was great. I've never seen you looking healthier and happier. I fell off my bike 10 months ago and had a pretty bad fall - so - I've been like you were - unable to to get going out of fear. So I'm getting strength from you and looking at my bike as not a race but a ride and have fun with it. Thank you!
This was so inspiring. Keep doing what makes you happy! Loved the bit where you went swimming, such a beautiful place!
That pool looked amazing!!! Your doing great work to help inspire us all to step out of our comfort zones.💗
I think to run is for enjoyment not for competition against yourself and not to push yourself to the limit, just enjoy running and the scenery and hills etc that is it just enjoy love your videos by the way been watching for some time and love them you are so brave
The way you burnt out by focusing on reaching certain goals is a great metaphor for the way so many of us are always setting limits on when we can be proud and happy about ourselves, it's so inspiring to see you get out of that pit and find joy in the present moment while running again :) Thanks for inspiring so many of us
Was thinking the same!
Same, such a good reminder! It's the journey that counts, not the destination.
Lovely adventures videos❤ inspiring to watch! Thanks Eva!
Great job Eva!!! You did it. I am so happy for you and thank you for sharing a very amazing video on running. It was full of adventure especially with the rattle snakes, and wonderful thoughts on how to just be yourself and go on with life the way you want it. Just do you! Soar highest in very endeavors you do!
EVA YOU ARE THE HOPE FOR US❤
Eva, that was an amazing run! So glad to see you enjoying yourself and not getting a burnout. Unless you are in a competition, running should be fun and joyious, one of self discovery, your strength, nature and the environment around you. To see you regaining your love for running and feeling alive was absolutely amazing. I feel you Eva! Run on and enjoy the moments!
P/S: Hope your palm is feeling better now.
There are no words... so very inspiring!!!
Such a beautiful video, story and views! You are a true inspiration! Thanks!
Eva is so brave!!❤ Positive vibes to everybody here! ❤❤

Dear Eva You're literally Very very Strong & Brave !
You're adventure are Matchless, The Best Thing about your adventure is that you enjoyed every single possible moment like enjoying in lagoon etc etc, You're aim is not just to complete the Run but to enjoy the every single possible moment !
Great Great Efforts, More Power to you !
Well done, Eva! Thanks for sharing your amazing journey. Not only the journey on the less traveled road but also journey in your mind. Love it!
Love this! Thanks for sharing. 🌞
OK, I'll admit it - I cried when I saw Vilk running up to greet her :)
Aww yay! I was so so happy to see him!
To answer your question at the end, my happy is hiking with the pup. Enjoying not only nature myself but the adventure she finds along the way. Thanks for the journey!
Brilliant Eva, you are conquering your mind. love it!
You push yourself SO hard... Keep pushing! The failures are trivial. Like you said, the things you'll remember and cherish the most are those surprises you find along the way. You're amazing and wonderful. You trigger that adventurous spirit in so many others, you inspire me as well. When you cry, I want to hug you... when you win, I want to give you a high-5! You're so fearless, so honest and so fun. I've really enjoyed your videos for at least the last year or so. Please keep it up!
What a beautiful story.. Deep, raw, inspiring, with a happy reunion with Vilk at the end. Great filmmaking chops, Eva! 🥰 I am convinced the rattlesnakes were actually your protectors on that run. They are such powerful beings!
I am trying to make good videos but could not for being alone and having not photo grapher .
I've never suffered from burnout, but age is a brand new game for me. Which brings me to : You are absolutely right about being lost within your own head. In the physical world i never felt lost, i always said to myself: " I am right where i am, so I can't be lost." You are amazing Eva!
It’s so different as you get older and have always been an athlete. I did everything, rode mountain bikes, ran every day 10 miles went to the gym, hiked. You name it I did it full blast. Now at 64 I am that same woman in my head but my body calls bullshit.😊So now I walk a lot in the forest with my dogs. I’ve had to slow down and doing that and excepting it are not always easy in my head. Your young do everything you want.❤
@@belindastark2975 Namaste ❤️✨
@@belindastark2975 It's bad enough when you were only an active athlete for perhaps 2/3ds of your life.
And I'm almost the same age, and with enough arthritis I CAN'T run any more.
I can still walk, though. 8-)
Fantastic ! Great job Eva.
I love watching your videos. So natural and you are also a person I feel so down to earth. No show offs etc. Thank you for taking us in your 3 days journey which was filled with emotions and joy..Amazing!! We look forward to watching more such amazing videos from you!! much love and regards!!!

Safe travels Eva...
You are truly an inspiration, doing things on your own terms now!!!!! Kudos!
what an amazing video
Absolutely amazing! Living life to the fullest with self awareness and chasing your dreams and desires without hesitation! Keep it up Eva! You are an inspiration to all of us!
Eva, I enjoyed this video very much. I felt like I could relate to it a little bit. I’m getting older and I’m not as active as I used to be. Last winter I went camping in a remote area. I decided to do some longer hikes and snowshoeing (as I used to do in my younger days). On my second day I was on a trail that was very challenging for me. I found myself physically exhausted and wondering “why am I doing this?” I pushed through my discomfort (I also felt like I couldn’t go on). I did get through it, and felt such a great sense of satisfaction. Listening to your words brought this memory back for me, and reminded me of what brings me joy.
Thanks for your videos, I really enjoy following along with your adventures and thanks for reminding me of what truly makes me happy.
Ahh I love that for you. Thank you for sharing your story. Keep tapping into the joy :)
You are never alone, the planet earth is always with you giving you her secrets, seeing things you have never seen before. You are truly amazing and do more than 90% of the population of this world! Keep running, keep having fun!! Love you Eva stay strong!💪🏃♀❤ Vilk was so happy to see you!🐕🦺
Thank you for your honesty and sharing your personal journey. 😊
Love the message behind the video. Have more joy living life. Thanks for the reminder!
It's nice when you remember that you can be your own best friend instead of your harshest critic
You may not realize it but Vilk is what what unconditional true love looks like. Bringing a dog into your life is the greatest adventure and best thing that has and will ever happened to you.
@tomquinn5437 writes " Bringing a dog into your life is the greatest adventure and best thing that has and will ever happened to you." I think that bringing a dog into one's life is a great adventure, but I think that bringing a human child into one's life, is _the_ greatest adventure and best thing that can ever happen to a person. And better than having your own progeny, is bringing in a child who would otherwise not have a good home, or perhaps would not have a home at all. Of course, before one does this, just like for a dog, one must prepare for the difficulties that may arise. Why do I say this? I am vegan and I do not like _cause_ any unnecessary suffering, to any animal, or to any human, adult or child. And also, I do not like to _allow_ any children to suffer.
@soilmanted is on the right track. The other example and source of unconditional love is experienced by those of us who are fortunate enough to find and grow with our true life partner.
Great film! Thanks for sharing
I love Eva !!! thank you for being so good to yourself
I wish I knew what makes me happy, my body hurts all the time, doing too little physical, but one thing makes me happy and that is watching your great energic videos 🙂❤️
