    I just ordered one for my 2002 Screamin Eagle Road King. Looking forward to see how she'll run after installing.

      I will say this, mine is running MUCH better now (after installing competition baffles in my Reinhardts) But! All Harleys come out of the factory running lean-ish to begin with. They do that for the EPA & mileage ratings. I went through fuel Moto for my PC and they downloaded the map based on their research. They got it right but it is just barely Rich enough. Make sure you have the cables to hook to your PC and the understanding to know how to adjust the map. The guys at fuel motor are great and I can't say enough good about them. HTH, 03

    Thank you for your video. I have a 2003 Ultra Classic with a 103 screamin Eagle stage 4 and replacing my old power commander 3 with the 5 and a dual map, broad band oxygen sensor Auto Tuner. The location is in exactly the same place as yours and then the Auto Tuner will be stuck on top with Velcro. With the Auto Tuner there is no need for a dynomometer.

      I don't think the 2006 and earlier TC88's have 02 sensors except maybe for the Dyna's unless you have had them installed. I believe this Power Commander will work but since there are no 02 sensors you will not be able to do an auto tune. Download a map according to your build and it will run good but getting it dyno tuned is better anyway according to what I have been told...

    Hey Bill, enjoy ur bike videos, need to do many more. Your the only 03 se guy out there. Question what mounts did you use to lift front of your tank? You mentioned in another video you had lifted front of tank.

  • @retiredguyadventures6211

    I know this video is over 2 years old, but I am considering buying this same Power Commander 5 module for my 2006 fuel injected Road King. I have a stage 2 build with a TechnoResearch EFI map download. It works well but not to many shops deal with that brand. I am going to do a 95/97 S&S big bore stage 3 kit for the bike in the near future and would like a control module that is more commonly serviceable. early TC88 fuel injected engines do not have o2 sensors and I am under the impression this will work for the TC88 engine up to the 2006 model. Without 02 sensors I understand it cannot be autotuned and will still need to be eventually dyno tunes?

    Mine is making a buzzing sound my old power commander

    i have the same tuner on my 07 street glide ive noticed if i do not start the bike before the fuel pump shuts off it causes hard start issues if i let the fuel pump cycle and shut off it stops sending power to the comander but if i turn ignition switch on then turn the run stop switch on and start right away it starts as it should is this nnormal ive read many posts stating its normal cause the comander gits power from the injectors and waiting for the pump to prime and shut off before starting the injectors loose power wich casues the comander to loos power and hard start issues until the pump kicks back on

      I have always had hot start issues with the SE103 high compression motor.
      I have mostly solved my hot start problems (before & after power commander install) by using the tank ignition switch only & not ever using handlebar on/off switch. I leave that switch in the on position always.
      To start the bike (hot or cold), I depress the handlebar starter button and then turn on the main ignition switch. In my case, it's on the tank console.
      Only occasionally do I have the ratcheting starter gear during hot starts.
      Thanks for watching the vid and commenting!

      Maybe I got a universal programming one where you have to hard wire it in? Any experience with these?????

      I got mine from fuel Moto. I told them what buke I had and they programmed it for me. Easy peasy. 03

    I have a friend who has recently purchased a 2003 fuel injected police road king. He’s having some issues. In the process of eliminating some other concerns. I think it’s the ignition module. I thought it was located where you are working in this video. Do you know where it’s located. I want to eliminate that before assuming it maybe be his power commander causing the issue.

      What are the issues?
      What have you checked?

      @@2003Harleyguy seems to only happen when it’s warmed up. But loss of power, seems like it’s missing when that happens and randomly cuts off. He can start it back up, pretty much immediately. He replaced spark plugs and wires before I even knew about. He’s convinced it’s fuel related. So he’s working on replacing fuel filter, iac sensor and some fuel hoses under the tank because he read ethanol could deteriorate over time. He was also thinking about taking it to a tuner assuming something might be wrong with the tuner. I’ve spoke to a couple people about the issues and both said it’s sounds like ignition module. And I know it doesn’t me much but I read in a forum someone having the same problem and the ignition module was the culprit. So that’s my assumption. I just don’t know where it is. I woulda thought it would be tucked in behind the tuner somewhere.

      Be sure to check for broken wire inside the wire insulation going to fuel injectors. Supposedly Harley used wire that was too stiff for the wiring harness and the wire cracks inside the plastic insulation. This leads to arcing between the broken wire gaps.
      I have had this happen and it causes really bad bad, intermittent rough running & stalling when at temperature.
      Do the fuel injector wire leads jiggle test as it's idling with a long non conducting stick or something. I used a 1/4" wooden dowell. Easier to see & reach from the right side under the tank. This happened to me and I ended up soldering the wires back together. Fixed the problem.
      Also check the fuel line running from the check valve under the tank to the fuel rail, they have a tendency to swell up with age/ethanol (like you said) on the inside cutting off the flow of fuel. HTH. 03

    • @ramatranga
      @ramatranga Před 2 měsíci

      ok, he’s taking care of the fuel line now while he has the tank off. We’ll check injector wire leads and the wire insulation.

      @2003Harleyguy  Před 2 měsíci

      @@ramatranga FYI, the bike needs to be running when you check it so you can see if it starts missing as you jiggle the wires.
      I guess you can also use a voltmeter and check continuity as you jiggle the wires. GL.

    Excuse me for not knowing but what is that line that you have running to your head covers? Is it a oil line of some kind?

    • @2003Harleyguy
      @2003Harleyguy  Před 2 lety

      No problem, that is the oil line running to my Arlen Ness oil pressure gauge, which is mounted on the rear rocker box for better visibility when riding.

    Hello. I want to buy Harley-Davidson Screamin Eagle Road King FLHRSEI2 2003 too. Can you tell what bearing are installed on this motor (Timken or not)?

    Did it effect mileage? Better or worse?

    • @2003Harleyguy
      @2003Harleyguy  Před 2 lety

      I've got the 103 motor so I get lousy gas mileage no matter what I do. Of course it might be the fact that I'm always grabbing handfuls...
      So the answer is none that I can really tell, one way or the other.
      The upside is greatly reduced backfiring on acceleration and deceleration. Thanks for watching, HTH, 03

    Do you still have to dyno the bike after the power Commander is installed
