- Having a hard time fitting your Dremel accessories into your new Dremel rotary tool? This video will teach you how to get your tool unlocked and unstuck as well as the proper way to place an accessory bit into the tool for optimal use!
Featuring Dremel's newest 4V Lithium-Ion rotary tool, the 7760 LITE. Coming Summer 2019! - Jak na to + styl
I purchased this to do some light PC case modification along with the dremel tungsten carbide cutting bit. czcams.com/users/postUgkxfPgcZ5_Cl0HDUKkMJAKde11YKQZVgMoR I had to remove a flange from my PC case that was preventing my monitor cable from fully seating in my GPU's HDMI connector, and after hacking away at this 2mm flange with a hand file I broke down and purchased this (at Home Depot).I have to say it's fantastic, and by far the best rotary tool I've used. No wobble or give from the shaft, plenty enough torque for light metal work, and decent battery life. The WC bit ate through the steel frame quite easily, and the chuck seemed to hold it firmly. This may seem obvious, but I especially appreciated the cordless nature of the tool since I was holding it at odd angles to ensure I didn't shower the inside of my PC with metal shavings.TL;DR, this is the one to get for light-medium duty work.
Thank you for not telling me about your dog, your cat, your wife and the cold that you had last week, straight and to the point. Fixed the problem.
Brand new out of the box with stuck collet. I was ready to send it back until stumbling on your video. Problem solved. Thank you. Love the fact you had great pictures and facts without all the chat.
Same thing happened to me! Glad to find this video
Exactly what I needed and straight to the point. You saved me a trip to return.
The head itself got jammed i can't loosen it cause its stuck it just wont move what should i do to loosen the head?
Thank you! What a pitty that Dremel delivers a new tool with this flaw without any support!
This is exactly the issue, which made me mad an hour ago (and was not mentioned in the manual, which came with my brand-new 8220, unfortunately). But after following the instructions in this video, the collet is now separated from the nut, and works well. Thank you! ^^
Nope. Sometimes the shank of the tool gets stuck in there permanently. Pressing the blue button and twisting in the unlock direction only causes the blue button to come up and click as you spin with all your might trying to get the !@##$ thing released. In this case, just hope that the tool that's stuck in there is the only one you'll ever use again because you're "stuck" with it.
Same issue here.
Me 3. Metal Cut off tool accessory stuck in collet. Pressing blue button also clicks. I thought maybe I overnighted it and stripped the threads?
Truth be told, I did get 6-7 solid years out of this Dremel and that’s after several times putting this poor thing through surgery, including 3 years in (power cord separating/fraying from from unit forcing me to use electrical tape, then 2 years later re-solder, hot/neutral and ground with heat shrink tubing then finally last year open casing add fresh 8 foot cord from source.
Many other issues, broken plastic pieces but I bought her back to life many times.
@@citylumberjack8381 Yeah. It was a nice tool. I just ended up throwing the thing away.
@@citylumberjack8381 figure out how to fix?
@@smswfn Actually I did. Brought her back to life. Ordered a new set of pin/shaft lock accessories on Amazon.
Took a video of how I did it but haven't had a chance to edit it yet and upload. It was tricky because I accidentally disengaged the speed control and it was a bitch to get back in but I did. I'll try to upload it soon.
Works great now and tightens back up. If you search for "Dremel 2 Pack of Rotary Tool Replacement Shaft Lock Assemblies # 2610009839-2PK" you'll get the ones I bought.
Hope that helps!
At first I was aggravated because there was only text with the video, but your great explanation fixed my problem without tearing anything up. Thanks!
Same, still annoyed by lack of audio. Audio with the text would’ve helped in making this go quicker though. I had to pause often to read and follow along. Plus every time I paused the options bar kept coming up and covering the text.😑 but glad it works 👍🏼
Got my first Dremel a week ago and had NO idea y the tools wouldn't fit. Haha, thank u soooo muuuch 😭😭😭
My collet is stuck in the collet shaft. Any ideas? Tried pliers. Broke the collet top half off. The remaining half is stuck down in the shaft.
THANK YOU. been messing with this stupid thing forever
You are Zeus! I am the most non-mechanical person in the world, and you just saved me with this video!
thank you so much for posting this. My Dremel collet is all fixed now :)
Fantastic, I don't have a Dremel but this worked for my rotary. thank you, Adie UK
Thank you so much. Straight forward and no bs
Proud owner of a brand new DREMEL 3000. Just took it out of the box and have been trying to make heads or tails out of the numerous informational inserts plus the "operating" manual. I HATE the manual that was clearly written by someone who instinctively knows how to use a Dremel already!
The collet is stuck within the collet nut (arrived that way) and it states to use another attachment to pop it out. Unfortunately there is no other attachment (out of the 52 in the bonus pack) that is the same size as the #480 - 1/8" collet that is stuck! So I guess I'm taking another trip to the hardware store!
Thank you! I was wondering how to sort this issue!
Thanks, great instructions, worked perfectly for me.
Thank you! You saved me a lot of time!
Absolute life saver! Thank you!!!!
Thank you, but my bit drops out. Do you have any idea of what I can do? Thanks again
How about when the collet is stuck in the shaft? It's impossible to pull out because you can't get purchase on it. If you use pliers the prongs just collapse - any ideas?
The hole in the shaft for the lock pin to go into to lock the shaft is stopped out on my dremmel. Any idea on how to fix that issue
How do I get a bit out of the Dremel if it’s stuck? I’ve bought a 3000 used it maybe a total of 45 and I can’t get the accessory out. I hold the lock and it just won’t spin, at all.
Already knew this solution but... If this happens with every change-out, do I need to replace the collet and/or nut? or is there another option than having to take it apart like this every time? Thanks.
Thank you SO MUCH!
Collet gets stuck in the tool (not in the nut) and it’s not easy to remove. Concerned it might break in there. How do I stop this from happening and how do I get it out.
Thanks! This helped a lot!
Thanks. Worked.
Thank you very much my drill is working now.
I have a bit stuck in the collet and pressing the lock button isn't working because it just forces the lock back open and rotates past it. I've tried loosening in both directions before you ask
How did you solve it, im suffering the same right now
@@semrukkhan756 it was a while ago so my memory is foggy, but I believe I ended up opening up the casing and taking it apart
Informative thank you.
Thank you SO much! I thought my Dremel Lite was defective!
What say.... it’s not a dermal . And what say the hole in your nut has expanded with heat so EVERY collet gets stuck. How do you check the size Of spindle for replacement? spindle aka thing that goes round and round and has a thread to put collet nuts on.
Thank you 🙏
THANK YOU
This does not answer or solve my problem, which is, I am unable to loosen the collet nut. I have sprayed WD-40 on it and it's still will not loosen.
Wow! So damn frustrating! I spent almost 30 mins. Trying to figure this out and was just about to return it. Other videos showed people just effortlessly inserting mandels. There’s NO mention of this in the manual or any documentation. Please fix this at the manufacture level. Mine came stuck like that straight out of the box! I was already behind with time.
What about a stuck accessory in dremel but the nut won't budge to remove it? To be honest, I'm not impressed with the Dremel tool. I've owned two through the years and both wore out. Now to be fair I've put them both through TONS of projects! They would get used so long and become too hot to hold.
never had any issue with this, my dremel works amazingly so far!!!
Thank u so much
Dumb Dumb !I wish i had watched this video before attempting to fix. I tried to force the collet and the Tip came off ripped ,so now i see no other way to remove the remaining part that is stuck inside the shaft !-. any solutions ? or i should take it for repair -. I wonder why the collet got Stuck in the shaft ! ? Maybe because i have been sanding and drilling Glass, as the dust went in and caused to jam ?
My favorite tools are dremels always,❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🧰🧰🧰
OMG thank you!!!!!!!
Worked like a charm! Make your manuals easier to directionally comprehend the diagram is very misleading
Expensive and frustration to getting use to it.
The bits with my 7700 don't fit in the collet even when it's completely loose. What the heck, Dremel! Did the wrong bits get put in the box?
You need a different size collet
@@justinarnold4462 Thanks. I did figure out that must be the issue eventually. Just so strange the tools it came with didn't fit the collet it came with...
@@phorest You need to buy the Dremel collet kit , they're not dear . Herer's a video about it . czcams.com/video/mVb0vMdgq0s/video.html
Oh my goodness! Thank you so very much! That worked perfectly.
I just got a rotary tool and the collet won't come outs of the collet nut and I try ed what you said to do and it isn't working do you have and other tips or ways to get it out
Have tou solved the problema, have the sane situation here ...
Had a 4300, lasted til it was out of warranty. Got a 395 type 3 at a garage sale, it lasted another year. not going for expensive Dremel any more, just got a Wen 2307 for $33cdn delivered to my door. Even if it lasts till warranty runs out(1 year), it's still cheaper to operate than the dremel. I take scrap bicycles, fix em up and give em to kids who can't afford a bike(20 bikes this year alone). From my experience the dremel is not much better than the knockoff brands but much more expensive
Thank you!
That happens when you tighten the collet nut without a tool in the collet or the tool shaft is too small for the collet installed in your dremel
You need a smaller collet.
Collet nut AND shaft lock nut stuck on mine after 80 minutes total normal use. Company says it has to be sent in. Never buying another Dremel product.
Thank you! You just saved me from sending it back. A woman who suddenly feels empowered again!
Great vid but my problem is that when I do all that, any accessory bit I place into the collet NuT just falls out no matter how much I tighten it and i've never had this problem before. But cool to learn the actual names of the piece of shit parts lol
You need a different size collet.
Boy, it sure would be great if you explained ANYTHING in your bloody manuals!
no sound, fix video first
Rajamohan Manivannan Did the sound ever start working for you?
I’m not getting sound either!
My shaft lock button is also stuck. What a piece of trash.
fuck my dremel, this didn't help at all. I love how it is just stuck for no fucking reason.
damn thing dont work, screw it!
if there is even one person that needs a viedo about that "problem" he should not even touch rotary tools -.-
I had this problem when I bought the tool and wasn't sure I could apply force on it so its a useful vid. Don't assume everybody knows as much as you do
The same could be said about some commentators on CZcams.
And you're here watching it, so what does that say about you?
