I have the same Dremel. It stopped working this morning, so I stripped it down, didn't check continuity of the Coils. Couldn't see anything wrong, so assumed it was the PCB or Switch Unit. Did a quick search and found this, opened it up again, and it had exactly the same break in the Coil Wire. Soldered a short length of Wire to the end, rebuilt it, and it works again! Thanks so much for sharing your find. One small tip to add; Instead of peeling the Stickers back (they never re-stick properly), just run a Razor Blade down the join in the Body Halves.
And it's stopped again . . . It's had around 3hrs use since I fixed it. Opened it up again, and you've guessed it, a Wire on the other Coil has broken! I'll do the same fix.
My favourite electronics repair videos are the ones in the kitchen with a wife and cat in the background. Another Dremel fixed, nice and easy, thank you!
We just bought a Dremel 3000 from a yard sale, not working for $5.00 Watched your video, found it was the same problem! Did the repair and it works great!! Now we have a working Dremel. Totally worth the $5 gamble. Thankyou for your video!!!
I'll add my comment too.. same issue, carving away with my dremel 3000 and inexplicable sudden cut out. Tried replacing the fuse in the plug, once I'd established the mains supply was still fine. Nothing. Literally a day or 2 before the extension attachment had been thrown out as the attachment screw in cap had been getting stiffer and not gripping whichever socket I put in. Now here was the main dremel just deciding to not operate. I have a backup older dremel but still, as you say in your video, these aren't exactly cheap wherever you live and really didn't want to have to buy a new one, especially as having to replace the extension attachment now. I'm so glad I decided to check for any tips online first. Followed your video, no surprises to everyone who's already commented: EXACT same problem! Literally unwound a strand of the copper wire and looped it around the terminal before reassembling .... it works again! I'm no way a gifted electrician, can just about change a plug or run an extension cable etc. But thanks to your relaxed and clear video, was able to get this important tool back up and running again! Thank you and I hope your CZcams goes viral and you get some deserved credit and remuneration for helping train a load of hobbyists like us to be able to not only maintain our own dremels, but also pass this on too. And dremel...? Maybe sort this issue for future dremels?!!
Wait there is a fuse in the plug? Where is it? This might be my issue.... The connections inside mine are ok. Mine didn't have the circuit board inside though.... Diont know if that's due to American power cords....
My Dremel 3000 had the same failure. Fixed within minutes. I expected the triac controller first and abandoned the repair, until I found your video. Thanks!
My Dremel stopped working after 1 light use. Saw this video and thought stripping it down and having a look was worth a shot and it was this exact fault. Thank you for this!
"This is not a walkthrough" - *Proceeds to show diagnosing and fixing the issue for who knows how many out there*. Thanks Mark, was properly annoyed when mine stopped working. Unwound a single broken strand and put it back underneath the clip again, closed it up and it works. Brilliant stuff!
This just worked for me too, although I replaced the whole broken ‘barrel’ with a new one £25 from b&q, as I couldn’t see a loose or disconnected wire. Thrilled to have fixed it and saved a chunk of old electrical a going to landfill 🙏🏻 thank you!
Absolutely brilliant - I seem to have joined dozens, if not hundreds of other viewers who had the exact same issue and was able to fix it after watching this. Thanks Mark!
After having opened up my Dremel on 3 previous occasions attempting to find the point of failure, I stumbled across your video and found the answer! Many thanks for taking the time to post this. Such a euphoric feeling when you make a fix like this, hit the power button and it bursts back into life!
Hi. I was just about to hit the ScrewFix after my Dremel gave up the ghost, but I took it apart first and yep, exactly the same problem. I couldn't get enough wire to reconnect it though. It was also so tightly wound I was worried about making it worse by trying to pull it out. However, I found a bit of an old electrical wire, stripped it and pulled a single strand of copper wire out (same diameter as Dremel's), and soldered them two together. Sorted. A really informative video. Thanks. Much appreciated .
I have a barely used Dremel 3000 (probably less than 4 hours total) that I received as a gift a year or so ago. I'm finally finding occasion to put it to use. Lo and behold, I bought a flex shaft for it today and half an hour into my project the whole thing crapped out. I found this video and it helped me eventually pinpoint the same electrical failure. I had to unwind it from the coil a bit as it was too short to reform a solid connection. Unfortunately there was a loss of tension on the wire from unwinding it. I read somewhere down in the comments here that the wire hanging freely could be a failure point in the future (not sure if only applies to those foliks who solder a new connection, but the other wires are pressed tight against the sides, so I figured I didn't want to leave it hanging loose.) I squeezed some super glue around the wire to hold it in place and let it run between the clip down to the loose part of the wire. Hopefully it holds in the long run. That seemed to fix the electrical issue, it started up. But when I went to go test the functionality, the motor was scraping against something- I had to take it apart like 3 times. Finally I got fed up and went to just tighten the absolute !@#$ out of it because I figured maybe not screwing it in all the way was allowing the motor to slip around and bump into the plastic. I think that actually was the case because as soon as I tightened all the screws up as much as possible, it worked like new. Just glad I don't have to buy a new one to get my project done. Although I do have a Chicago Electric laying around somewhere...... Now my issue is that my flex shaft is getting HOT. Always something to problem solve! TL;DR - make sure you tighten the screws all the way into the case if your motor sound clunky- it's probably getting loose from it's own torque and bumping into the plastic.
Like many others, my dremmel was suffering the same problem. It's now fixed and has become the first electrical repair I've ever accomplished! Thanks SO much!
so glad i found your video. the dremel was barely used but still had it longer than the warranty. so I thought it was just to buy a new one. tried taking it apart but couldn't see anything wrong. then I saw your video and started to measure, then it turned out that the thread was off. I could spin the wire a turn and put it back. thank you very much, I would never have thought of that!
So I need to thank you! my Dremel stopt and I googled: Dremmle stopped! and I got your video. Now I am as technical as an empty box so had little hopes. When i saw how you took yours apart I thought why not lets do it, everything inside looked good only the inner core looked a bit rusted so i snded it a bit and cleaned it all and it worked again! HAPPY! I was already looking to buy a new one. thanks!
Just dropping a co-sign on this video. Wife's Dremel 3000 stopped working. This exact same design flaw was the culprit, and this video the fix. Thank you so much for posting this and saving us all some money. Absolute legend.
Thank you so very much for posting this video! My machine just stopped working midway through a project and I was heartbroken. These tools are rather expensive in South Africa and it took me a number of months to save up for one. It’s about 18 months old now and just stopped working… The fix didn’t take too long and as I am not very good with electrical repairs I was overjoyed when it worked again. Thank you!
Amazing video, thank you. Mine was exactly the, working fine then suddenly stopped! Having brushes I knew it must be something simple, took it apart and evening looked ok. Headed to CZcams and found this video, followed the steps and found a dead coil. I just unwrapped a coil and threw it back together and it's buzzing happily away now 👍 Thanks again 🙂
From Australia with love! This fixed my dremel. Well done mate. One wire was hard to tell that it was broken but a continuity test proved it was one of two and then a bit of wiggling showed the breach up near the clip. Thanx again!
Brilliant video, after speaking to Bosch and being told my Dremel was just out of warranty I had a quick look at this video and it was the same problem, you really have to look as the broken wire is hard to spot without a volt meter, all fixed now many thanks Mark.
My dremmel 3000 just stopped on me, I was going to buy another until I found this video, I followed it by the letter and found the broken wire too, like new again now, thank you for taking the time to show us the fix.
Great video. Mine had exactly the same wire break which looks like planned obsolescence by Dremel. The vibrations make the unsupported wire resonate at certain speeds and it eventually breaks off at the pinch point. If you extend the wire by soldering you MUST glue the wire onto the cardboard backing or it will break again at the solder joint. This was a tip from an air force technician. I used polyurethane varnish, but super glue would probably work OK.
Thank you Mark mine did the same whilst I was pushing its limits, thought I had burnt the motor out, and wasn't overly surprised. But low and behold same issue, I followed the same instructions and im back up and running. Thank you very much.
Great video, thanks, showing how to quickly gain access to the internals. Note that you can unwind one turn (carefully) giving you enough enamelled copper wire to pass twice through the pinch point of the terminal (by wrapping around post and through the bottom of the terminal). Bad design in my book because the action of inserting the terminal into it's holder stresses the copper wire by pulling it tight against the knife points at the bottom of the metal terminal exacerbated by vibration. I fully expect this to re-occur on the other terminals for the same reasons. Thanks again.
Only one side of the Winding will unravel, as the other will come from the inside of the Coil. Sod's Law means the broken one on mine was the inside Wire, so I had to solder a short piece onto the broken end to fix it. The Wire is Lacquered, so you need to scrape it gently with a Razor Blade before it can be soldered.
Mark if only you knew how many Dremel around the world you have saved. You are brilliant. I was about to through mine out and tried what you did and it works again. Thanks so much.
Rang Dremel, Bosch, same problem just stopped working. The brush had at least 6mm so well above the 3.2 mm replacement. The nearest repair was 60 Klm away so decided to have a go myself following the video. My one had exactly the same fault so i wound the wire then re attached put back together and it works. What a great CZcams video. I have not used this dremel all that much and have had it for about 6 years, and in fact rarely used it, I bought a cheaper version “dremel” over 40 years ago and it still works! Looks like the dremel has a manufacturing fault. Once again thanks for the video posting easy to follow.
I have had two dremels do the same thing and now thanks to your video I have two that work. Can't believe they don't make this connection better in production. Great work 👏
I had the same problem with my Dremel 3000 and the fault was identical to yours - a field wire broken at a terminal connection. I managed to free enough of the broken wire to solder on a length of similar guage allowing it to be pressed into the base of the faulty terminal and, bingo, a working Dremel! 😊 As multiple people have experienced the same problem, I suspect the cause is excess tension on a terminating field wire during initial assembly as eventually, heat and vibration cause the strained wire to break. The extension wire I inserted is relatively loose, so I don't expect it will break when subjected to heat and vibration (tbc! ). Thank you for posting your video. Knowing where to look made my repair much easier 😊
Thanks for the video. I've had a broken dremel for over 3 years and just got around to repairing it today after watching this. Same fault and easy repair thanks to you. I just uncoiled 1 winding to get the extra length of wire. Works great again! Cheers
Thank you, I managed to fix my Dremel by following this video! Connecting the loose wire to the connector is the most difficult part, I stuck quite some time to do it.
Brilliant!! My dremel stopped working today so I pulled it apart and couldn’t see the problem so I went straight to CZcams and this was the first video I found. So I pulled the dremel apart again and viola! Same problem. Thankyou
on the verge of ordering a new switch but had looked on yt for anything similar and seen this mark davies watched it then out came trusty tools , hammer and screwdriver . 15 mins later was carving my name on a floorboard wi it appreciated mark saved time n money .. another lump of very useful knowledge learned today🤓
Fantastic!! It worked. I was going to get a new one. You just saved me 50 quid! A bit disappointed with Dremel though with the quality of their work. Thanks again.
Just wanted to say thanks for video. I know diddly squat about these things but followed your video to find mine had the same problem. Fixed and working again thanks to you. Cheers!
It Works! I ended up cutting the coil twice because the first cut was too short. I crossed my fingers and toes and said the magic spell "this should not work" and hey presto, it now works! Thanks heaps for this video!
Thanks!, many thanks for your great video, I was so sure my 3000 was busted that did not bother to use the multimeter, followed your video and sure enough found same issue and repair it. Now my dremel is working again.
Brilliant video Mark. My brand new Dremel has passed out on it's first serious job, sawing through a floorboard. I didn't think I was pushing it overly hard, but she gave up on me anyway. Imagine my joy seeing your walk through with the prospect that my new Dremel can possibly be saved. Thank you, I hope for the best along with many others.
How did you get the clip out? Would have been good to see that part of repair, i have no continuity between 2 of the 4 clips so this must be the problem? Wire must of come off clip
Mate, you are bloodu amazing! Just got back from the shed. Found same issue as you and was able to fix it thanks to your great video footage and explanation. Saved me a few dollars and time I didn't have, as its Saturday afternoon and no shops open. Many thanks.
Thank you so much for sharing this clip, after my Dremel quit on me, I looked at your clip and lo and behold it was the exact same problem. Fixed it in 10 mins and it is working like new. Thanks again for saving me the money of having to shell out for a new unit. ☆☆☆☆☆ Top man.
I never comment on any videos. Literally just followed how you took it apart and cleaned it. It turning back on made me laugh so hard. Thank you for making this video, completely made my day and now I can finish my project.
Excellent! Ok so after seeing your repair, I decided to look at my dremel which hadn't been working for years. After getting it apart, low and behold, broken winding wire. You saved me from having to buy a new one! You rock! And you are thoroughly appreciated for what you do! THANK YOU!
Thanks for the vid. My collet nut got stuck and was skipping trying to take it off. Eventually got a big plier with a piece of rubber on the shaft and another plier on the nut and got it loose. Thanks again for the upload!
I’m going to call you Handy Andy, Mr D. Incidentally my friend bought a portable Chinese heater after I sent him your excellent videos, so thanks a million.Stay safe and warm.🌞🙏🇬🇧🌞
Thanks Mark! My first Demel 3000 died the same way, techies said it could not be repaired. Second one died the same way BUT you have come to the rescue. Good video. Thanks
I tried to fix mine yesterday without any luck. Then I saw this guide this morning. Tried again following this and got it working again. Very happy now, thanks Mark.
Thank you so much for posting this I had the same problem and the fix was the same too! I just unwound one of the turns of the coil and reinserted it into the clip and trimmed it. Job done in 15mins. Thank you!!
Hello. I have the same problem, and I was thinking of doing the same thing you did: uncoil a bit instead of adding a new piece (like other videos suggest). Did you have any issues after doing that? The stator will have a bobine with fewer windings than the other. Or I shouldn't worry about it? Does it make a difference in the performance? I would appreciate any feedback from anyone! Thanks!
Great video thanks. Mine just stopped working, so I did a quick google and found your video. I'm about to go back down the shed and have a look at it. Thanks for posting. I haven't even used mine a whole lot yet, but it is handy for those jobs when nothing else will do.
Great video, wish I would have checked this out before I stripped it down, and put it back together again. Thanks, I couldn’t see the break it until I moved the wire.
Thanks to you I found mine had same issue, wasn't able to pull strand off coil but managed to attach short wire to it, working fine ....so far....Many Thanks
Thank you so much for making this video, it helped me fix my dremel so easily! Your instructions and demonstrations were so clear, I really appreciate it!
My Dremel 3000 also stopped working abruptly.Checked out your video and Lo and Behold the same fault, fixed and running again in less than half an hour.Thank you
You absolute legend! Finally got around to doing this, and low and behold there was a broken copper wire. Managed to stretch it back into the slot and hey presto it's working again! Thanks a million.
Same problem with my Dremel 3000 broken copper wire. I just unfurled half turn off the copper spool and that gave me more than enough copper wire to work with. It is up and running again thanks for the video.
Thank you. I have the Dremel 300 series. I just removed the two motor brushes on the sides. 11:15 in video shows him reinstalling the brushes. I removed and wiped off, reinstalled and it works. Thanks again.
Thanks for this video Mark, my 3000 was only 3 months old when it suddenly stopped mid-job. I was about to return it under warranty and then wait a month or more to get it back - not all that appealing! Thankfully I found your video before returning the tool, had the exact same broken wire - an issue that looks very likely to be repeated.
Wow, just have others have said I had my Dremel suddenly stop. Luckily I had just finished the work I was doing but I was pretty annoyed as although I have owned the unit for a while it has had fairly light use! I had a broken wire just as you showed and it is now repaired and working...very happy as any repair job is sooo satisfying. I did find the part online after this but repairing rather than replacing is always preferable. Thank you sir, my Dremel lives again!
Thanks for that, took mine to bits after it stopped working, couldn’t see anything wrong with and then after watching your video I had a little poke around with the wires and hey presto a snapped wire. Connected back up and if it went, running again. Thanks so much.
Dremel is in the trash bin…. Might run out and dig it up. Update: exactly what it was. Couldn’t get that wire to unwind, and wound up unwinding the hole coil. Made connection and rewound it. Works. Thank you. Will order a new coil soon though.
Top video Mark. I had the same problem. Winding wire was tight so not sure it will last. Poor from dremel, seems like a common problem. Might be designed like that to make you buy another 🤪
It worked, thank you. Same place, probably wouldn't have found it without your help. A bit of a design flaw where those clips pinch the winding wire, but on the upside if it fails there it's easily accessible - almost like a fuse.
OMG…the same wire was broken here. I managed to solder a tiny wire to the copper wire and connect it to the switch and everything worked. I couldn’t have done without your help 👍😀⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Great, fixed mine same fault but I think you were lucky yours worked fist time and without a continuity check because the copper winding wire is insulated (has to be as its wound together touching the strand next to it) and so it is coated with a resin or something, I put it back together and nothing. When I had another look I continuity tested across the two clips and it was open circuit, I removed the clip again and ran some sandpaper over the new end and I reinserted it and I had continuity this time, you need to remove the coating from the end that is in contact with the clip, you can demo this to yourself by just putting your meter probes onto the wingdings or even on the wires running up to the clips, you will get no reading because of the insulation. Anyway, its all working now, so great video thanks
Awesome! must be a common problem based on the comments. I would never have found the problem without seeing your video - very happy that I don't have to replace it. Thanks Mark!
It appears you have, in fact, created a how-to video. Although, as I suspected, mine is not victim to this same fault...yet... it was very nice to see exactly what to expect opening mine rather than going in blindly and also nice to know I may expect this trouble in the future. Thanks a bunch for that!! It appears that my problem lies in the switch or another connection.
Superb, just brought back.from the dead , two of my dremels ... thanks so much for taking the time to post this vid , invaluable ... now send to Dremel 😅 ... all best
If you live in Australia, this design flaw can easily be linked to the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) of " not fit for purpose" even after the warranty has expired you shouldn't have to pay for a repair under ACL. Get Dremel to fix it at no charge.
This solved my problem! Back up and running with my original 1999 model multipro 395 type 5.. running 25 years now.
We just bought a Dremel 3000 from a yard sale, not working for $5.00
Watched your video, found it was the same problem! Did the repair and it works great!! Now we have a working Dremel. Totally worth the $5 gamble. Thankyou for your video!!!
3 years later and I fixed my 3000 here in Hawaii - thank you!
Glad it helped!
My dremel had been sitting in the shed "broken" for years and its now working perfectly again. Thank you kind sir
I'll add my comment too.. same issue, carving away with my dremel 3000 and inexplicable sudden cut out. Tried replacing the fuse in the plug, once I'd established the mains supply was still fine.
Wow, thanks
As multiple people have experienced the same problem, I suspect the cause is excess tension on a terminating field wire during initial assembly as eventually, heat and vibration cause the strained wire to break.
Cheers
Great to hear all the best
How did you uncoil another wore, what tool you use? And how did you remove the clip?
Thank you, I managed to fix my Dremel by following this video! Connecting the loose wire to the connector is the most difficult part, I stuck quite some time to do it.
Thank you. You just saved my husband’s Dremel! Works great again.
15 mins later was carving my name on a floorboard wi it
appreciated mark saved time n money .. another lump of very useful knowledge learned today🤓
Nice one Jamie
@@MrMeltedwellies ace mate🤓
Fantastic!!
Brilliant Mark, you made that so simple to understand. Nice work all round. Thanks
Fantastic!
Glad I could help
Thank you so much for sharing this clip, after my Dremel quit on me, I looked at your clip and lo and behold it was the exact same problem. Fixed it in 10 mins and it is working like new. Thanks again for saving me the money of having to shell out for a new unit. ☆☆☆☆☆ Top man.
You are welcome!
Thanks for your video. It enabled me to repair a customer’s dremel with a similar problem for the Repair Café Uckfield.
THANK YOU!
You are welcome!
Thanks Funky your a star you to stay safe mate ATB
Thanks Mark! My first Demel 3000 died the same way, techies said it could not be repaired. Second one died the same way BUT you have come to the rescue. Good video. Thanks
Thank you
Nice one Mark, my 3000 had exactly the same symptoms and the issue was the same. Nice fix, cheers.
I tried to fix mine yesterday without any luck. Then I saw this guide this morning. Tried again following this and got it working again. Very happy now, thanks Mark.
Nice work!
Thanks!
Ok reading these comments it's clear there's a design flaw in these. Dremel 3000 with the exact same error here 😳 Thank you for the video Mark!
Same here, thx!!
Yes. A very bad design akin to cheap Chinese brands. Might as well buy Chinese for half the price these days.
Thanks, had the same issue, helped to see someone else bumble with the insides a bit. Removing the clip was the biggest pain I think.
I just repaired mine thanks to you. Exact same broken wire. Shitty quality by Dremel. Shame on them. Thank you man!
Same issue happened today with my 3000 as well. This exact same fix otally worked for me too! Brilliant!
Had the exact same problem. now it works again ..... cheers for the vid.
Mine too, same problem, and now it works. You're a champion.
Thank you so much for making this video, it helped me fix my dremel so easily! Your instructions and demonstrations were so clear, I really appreciate it!
You're welcome!
My Dremel 3000 also stopped working abruptly.Checked out your video and Lo and Behold the same fault, fixed and running again in less than half an hour.Thank you
Glad it helped
Thank you so much for this . Dremel stopped. Engaged google, found this. 30 mins later Dremel running again. Hero!
You're welcome!
You absolute legend! Finally got around to doing this, and low and behold there was a broken copper wire. Managed to stretch it back into the slot and hey presto it's working again! Thanks a million.
Nice work well done
Excellent, my 3000 just stopped, exact same problem.
Fixed, thank you 🙏😊
Thanks for this, I had exactly the same problem so could fix after watching your video. Nice one 👍
Had the same problem, fixed it. Thanks to you!👍
Same problem with my Dremel 3000 broken copper wire. I just unfurled half turn off the copper spool and that gave me more than enough copper wire to work with. It is up and running again thanks for the video.
Amazing video! I almost broke down and bought another rotary tool, but this helped 10000%!
Thank you. I have the Dremel 300 series. I just removed the two motor brushes on the sides. 11:15 in video shows him reinstalling the brushes. I removed and wiped off, reinstalled and it works. Thanks again.
Glad it helped
Excellent explanation - just done the exact same repair but with an added soldered wire. Thanks so much!
Glad it helped
I came back to say thank you! The wire on mine didn’t look broken at all, so the multimeter did the trick. Thank you again.
Glad it helped
Thanks for this video Mark, my 3000 was only 3 months old when it suddenly stopped mid-job. I was about to return it under warranty and then wait a month or more to get it back - not all that appealing! Thankfully I found your video before returning the tool, had the exact same broken wire - an issue that looks very likely to be repeated.
Glad it helped
Wow, just have others have said I had my Dremel suddenly stop. Luckily I had just finished the work I was doing but I was pretty annoyed as although I have owned the unit for a while it has had fairly light use! I had a broken wire just as you showed and it is now repaired and working...very happy as any repair job is sooo satisfying. I did find the part online after this but repairing rather than replacing is always preferable.
Thank you sir, my Dremel lives again!
I missed the clip wire part?
@@patriciastaley5707 This video shows the fix to the wire better czcams.com/video/Vs40OwY0PvI/video.html
Nice
Thanks mate, i presumed it was the sliding switch.
Looked at your video and found exactly what was wrong.
Many thanks.
Well done mate. I just bought one for metal work mainly now I know how to pull it apart. Thanks heaps for that mate 👍🇦🇺
Glad I could help Craig
OMG…the same wire was broken here. I managed to solder a tiny wire to the copper wire and connect it to the switch and everything worked. I couldn’t have done without your help 👍😀⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Nice work!
Thanks a lot Mark! This saved 2 of my Dremel 3000 that suddenly stopped!
You're welcome!
Thank you very much. I made the same process with my dremel and now it's working. Thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Thanks Mark!
thank you very much for sharing this valuable information, a friend asked me to fix his dremel (same model) and had the same issue. now it’s fixed
Glad it helped
It appears you have, in fact, created a how-to video. Although, as I suspected, mine is not victim to this same fault...yet... it was very nice to see exactly what to expect opening mine rather than going in blindly and also nice to know I may expect this trouble in the future. Thanks a bunch for that!! It appears that my problem lies in the switch or another connection.
What a life saver . Brilliant video and found I had exact same problem. Thank you
Superb, just brought back.from the dead , two of my dremels ... thanks so much for taking the time to post this vid , invaluable ... now send to Dremel 😅 ... all best
Fixed dremmel, had exactly the same issue. Without this video I would have never attempted...Thank you.
You're welcome!
I was grinding rust off of my 87’ D150’s bumper when our 3000 died. Thank god for this!
If you live in Australia, this design flaw can easily be linked to the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) of " not fit for purpose" even after the warranty has expired you shouldn't have to pay for a repair under ACL. Get Dremel to fix it at no charge.
