I used to live in Dar es salaam in 1990s as a teenager fleeing civil war in Somalia, and back then Dar es salaam was not as developed as it is now but it was a peaceful place.
nyama ya mbuzi with green vegetable was my favorite. Now, having lived in the USA more than 24 years, I'm definitely coming back to East Africa in the next few years, to slow down my tempo and to enjoy life the African way.
You can not feel guilty when your skin shines and reflects the spirit of the Continent. Soon come.
Thank you sister,welcome home.
I agree with you 100%, Queen. The pursuit of peace should be the priority for all of our people, period. The most important thing for me right now is creating an environment where my children can know peace themselves. We will know the meaning of infinite abundance when our priorities and spirit are in alignment.
Got into an online debate about this with some others who were considering moving. One argument was that our forefathers fought and died for land in America and it was our duty to continue the fight. But I'm like, man I'm 58 years old, I'll be fortunate to get another 20 years on this planet. Have tried to do my part, but I just need some peace now.. I think every person has the right to make a decision for their own lives and their families. I do think if I had young kids I would definitely be moving..that fear of them running into a police officer and maybe not coming home one night, etc..naw, I see the peace your kids have, the joy of just being human..that's what I would want for my kids..and it's what I want for my remaining years.
This should not be a debate or argument, if you wanna live your life stress free and you have children whom you wanna see grow without that mental stress and blood pressure because of their race, then you move to where you are comfortable...for a black person, africa is the HOME, other places like US are just nationalities
@@lorenzowere9433 So true!!!
It has been said that "self care is a political act". You are doing the right thing for yourself and family. Peace of mind and joy are primary. You're raising your babies to be free and that is priceless. I salute you.
NEVER EVER feel guilty for doing what's best for YOU and YOUR FAMILY. No one has a say-so in YOUR life. People amaze me having the nerve to say you're abandoning your people...No, on the contrary, I'm removing myself for the benefit of my family. I refuse to continue battling a 400yr+ battle. I'm over half a century old and have had enough. Those who have an issue with it can dismiss themselves. You have NEVER been a part of my life and struggle so don't express your thoughts to me, now. You fight your way and I'll find some semblance of peace my way.
Yesss! Exactly, thankyou! ♡
I’m planning my “escape” sister. It’s a must for me. Not everyone can handle a complete life change, we get too comfortable with our surroundings that we forget there are other worlds and simple yet peace ways of life out there. Thank you for your encouragements💗🙏🏾
I applaud you and envy you at the same time. If I were financially able I would leave this pressure cooker called the USA. LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE AND BE HAPPY...
Praise be to Yah for his goodness and mercy's toward his chosen people, for taking you and your family to Tanzania. My wife and I will be coming very soon.
No one is obligated to stay in an abusive relationship!
Your way is the SMART way!
I am a Tanzanian living here🇹🇿 I congratulate because you have done one of the smartest decisions you ever made
This world is vast and we as melanated people have the right to live wherever we want. Those that are stuck will continue to be that way. Keep showing them your serenity living outside of the matrix.
Unfortunately A MIND still in Captivity will not *SEE* you, eye to eye on matters that lead to *FREEDOM!*
Greetings from Jamaica.you have made the right decision.everyone have a right to choose their own destiny.africa is home
People use words like 'escape', 'run away' and 'abandon' to make it look like those who leave are cowards. If you are hopeful and are willing to die, go ahead and stay and fight (I hope you have enough ammo). Those of us who see the reality, are choosing the leave. Harriet Tubman was not a coward. She valued her life and had self worth.
💯
Lots of great points. I’m still working on making my way there and I had a brief moment of guilt asking myself “Am I running?” Honestly, no matter what condition the world is/has/or will be in the future, I will still desire to live abroad
EnRico, I'm not sure that self preservation should ever be termed, "running." We're taught to look upon the Pilgrims and the colonists with great reverence and regard. Nobody ever says they were running from the oppressions they faced elsewhere.
Illumi Nadi Great point

Misery loves company! You did not have to dignify that question. Keep being great living in peace and the sunshine! On my way soon!!!😍👑🎆💥
Thanks, but it is a common question actually that I wanted to address.
It's a sign of deep seated racial and inferiority conditioning that anyone would even question you on this matter. If a Caucasian American decides to seek their fortunes in Australia, or Germany or Spain or wherever, I don't think same reaction would ensue. And honestly, I believe this is most specifically related to your place of choice. I don't even think you would get this same reaction if you had ended up in some European location.

I agree, she Chose not to Subject her children to racism & heightened levels of anxiety, if we're keeping it 100 parents that raise kids in Babylon accept that for their children
Me and my family finally arrived! Thanks for your help! Hope to run into you in Dar Es Salaam sometimes!
Karibu Tanzania! :)

You're welcome Derrick
Hi my name is Haggai welcome back home..you are in the right place
What people fail to realize is that when you are born, you are not born into a country you are born into the world! Therefore, just because you were born and raised in a country does not mean you are subjected to live the rest of your life in that country! I feel that people have a right to choose where ever they want to live on earth! Don't let anyone make you feel bad for wanting a new experience for yourself and your family! I agree, not everyone will make that move and they shouldn't! Some has to stay to continue the legacy, and fight! God bless! God willing I am coming to the continent!
Exactly!!
hey sis, such familiar question. I like the points made in the comment section. if one cannot move and travel in this life , he/she is not free indeed. freedom is more than being able to drink from the same water fountain or attend the same school. indeed our people have had a number done on them and most of them are so afraid they wont sell their fear for freedom. Like you had said: many have said watch, you will come back to america when times get hard abroad but i say if you are determine to be somewhere not even cold war can cause you to run back into the very fire you ran from. peace and blessings.
Thank you for this channel. You have given me support and encouragement just by providing your experience. I am here in Dar now and will continue the journey here. Thanks again

I just realised you video of your birthday on the islands on the Tanzanian coast is off your channel. It is a nice video. Shows the boat the water.

@@themigratingmom yeah unless you made it private. But it's a nice video. And nice to see you go venturing out.
Absolutely you're right
Great move sista, you are making move. You can not fight WS it's big in USA.
Amazing content Ru
Thank you!
Sister do yourself a favor: live your life. There's no time to feel guilty since life's too short. I spent 3 months in Ghana last year and I felt good about it: We all deserve peace, tranquility and harmony. To me, the US is good to make money not to live at peace and in harmony. Racism, mass incarceration (mostly Blacks and latinos), Police brutality, and other social injustices makes it hard here especially when you're a minority in the US. I hope to bump into you next year when I'm planning on spending 6 months between Tanzania, Mozambique and SA.
Well said, Lady...👏👏👏
Thanks sis!! ♡♡
Praise Jesus, you are blessed! Peace be yours in Jesus’ name! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

Rukiya is cute 😍

I've known people who moved from the US to countries with normal social services like full healthcare and free or low-cost education and some of them have said that they feel guilty that they now have these benefits as just a normal part of their lives when their US parents may have worked and worked and worked and still no one has all that in the US and probably never will. I don't know if Tanzania is one of the many countries that has good (a.k.a. normal) social services, but if it is, I wonder if you've ever thought like that. Your attitude seems to be a lot more individualistic so maybe not.
Are you suggesting bringing the rest of the family? What if they are not into moving?
If my sound cliche but my momma always told me, "misery loves company." Is it ok for every other race to become expats and live abroad? Europeans travel world setting up residence wherever they feel comfortable. It shouldn't even be a question whether it is acceptable to live abroad. Anyone who questions this life choice has been preconditioned themselves to live in a box. There is a reason why the majority of African Americans have not stamped their passport or even have one for that matter.
With that said, if one does not have a genuine intent for adding to a society and is just looking for some kind of reparation they feel owed, prosperity will be difficult to achieve regardless of the ethnicity of the populous.
Thank you for sharing your life Queen! The information that CZcamsrs are providing to the African Diaspora is invaluable.
BABYLON 🇺🇸 is on 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Don't look back, be happy that you are in a position to be able to get away from the USA and all their home grown hatred.
