Moving to Ghana | American Teenagers Get Honest About Life in Ghana | Third Culture Kids
A Third Culture Kid is a person who has spent a significant part of his/her developmental years outside the parents' culture. This is definitely how I would describe Abeo and Asad.
In this video they talk about growing up while living in multiple different countries, their experiences and advice they'd give to other teens moving to Ghana.

Alhumdulilah ! Congratulations 🎊 It is so good to see you back on this platform. May ALLAH continue to bless you and your beautiful family ❤
How come you never tried the Caribbean.
We lived in PR and USVI prior to moving to anywhere outside of the USA.
Love this!!!
Thanks sis!!
I just subscribed to your channel simply because I like your vibe a lot. It seems to me you're finding Ghana a little bit (a lot 😂) challenging, but you're focusing on finding all the possibilities to make it work rather than dwell on the negative. I'm that way also, with my Nigeria and Ghana experiences. It's a lot of challenges - as well as opportunities. Let's focus there. I'll be watching more of you and looking forward to what we can make out of these challenges together ❤️ 💪🏿
Yes it can be very challenging at times! Its good to know people who understand. I left my email address for you in the other comment. ❤️✨
Aww from the mouth of babes! Good to hear their prospective and see how much they have matured. We miss you guys here in Tanzania!!
Hey boo! Miss you too!!
Wow, your kids are brilliant and talk so eloquently. You're doing such an excellent job Mama 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 The dust storm she's talking about is during the Harmattan season, between November and February. I was surprised how severe and long it lasted in Ghana though. With my experience growing up in Nigeria, it usually last for about one month - from November to December. We just left Ghana after 5 months and now in Nigeria. We want to do the quad East African countries and could use some of your recommendation, especially Tanzania. How can we connect further to discuss please?
Hello! Thank you for your kind words. Yes, please email me at rukiya@themigratingmom.com. ❤️
I enjoyed this video! Your children are very intelligent and well spoken. It was nice to hear their point of view. What a wonderful way to grow up!
Thank you for watching 🙂✨
You’re welcome 🤗
Thanks for all the great insights...Great children, so smart and wise. Keep up the great journey, as our children are the future. 💜🙏💜
Yes they are! ☺️✨
Just stumbled on your Channel by chance from one of your Shorts you looked beautiful like our beloved beautiful Rita Marley. I subscribed right away. And oh you have beautiful cultured kids. Im a Ghana 🇬🇭 boy
Thank you so much! 😁☺️
Great job on raising great humans, but you never told us the song on your old intro please tell us 😂
What a lovely couple. I'm wishing you the best. I've just subscribed.
Thank you!
Thanks for sharing. What made you all decide to move abroad initially?
Hey sis, I knew I wanted to raise children abroad before I had them. I taught in Indonesia and I knew from teaching that I wanted to raise my children outside of the US.
@themigratingmom Wow, that's very cool. You were ahead of your time
Your kids have been blessed to grow up and experience their formative years without a colonial mindset and not have their souls/spirits polluted by western imperialism and capitalism. Ancestors smile on you and your family!
Thank you so much for this. ❤️✨
Hey y’all hey! Jeremiah and Jaz miss you guys! Be blessed and great job 🎉
❤️❤️
My teenagers are not thriving much in Ghana. Love hearing your kids perspective ❤.
Thank you for watching! How long have your children been here if you don't mind me asking. It was not an easy transition for us that's for sure.
@@themigratingmom we been here since November 2021. Thinking of other options now.
@PritTeaBeaUTea Accra is hard. We enjoyed the outskirts in Ghana more than the main city. Even Kumasi (a big city) is more livable than Accra - overhyped and overpriced. Try the Volta region (for the mountains and waterfalls). We also really loved going to Ada/Ada Foah because we're boaters and anglers. There are lots of other places outside Accra that are not talked about on youtube. Don't give up yet, it's so much you might not have seen. Good luck!
Magnificent perspectives from both.
Nice to hear from them. Now grown matured teenagers. I still want to know, what tribe is your husband. ?
Awwww..... the kids saying they loved 🇹🇿 was 😢. There is a wonderful diasporan community especially at FUMBATOWN, Znz that has alot of AA teenagers, and they are _Thriving_ , they go to the ocean and swim, restaurants and plaza on site, paved roads for biking. Hopefully one day you can come visit. Poa Dada!
Yes we are aware of Fumbatown! Tbh Tanzania is their favorite place in Africa, their favorite place in general is Thailand. Mine too. Lol! 🖤
Great experiences. Not an average teenagers.
Your children are spectacular!!! 🤩✨🤎
Thanks boo! Yours are too. 🥹☺️🖤
U just moved to Ghana so u will have to wait a little more.
We have been here since 2021
Ok! That is long enough to be able to compare.

Ok! That is long enough to be able to compare.
👏🏾🖤 they’ve gotten to experience so much ,way more than most people dream of, tell them that Auntie says UNOOOO! Also because of you all I got to visit Africa. It would have just remained a dream or an unchecked item on a bucket list. You all made that come true and I’m forever grateful ❤✌🏾✨ 🇬🇭🇹🇿 love yinz 🖤
Heyy!! We will video call you this weekend! Miss you! 🖤
How old are they
13 and 14
These children are so cultured! I hope they are okay here because my twins were absolutely miserable. 🥹 Your daughter is absolutely correct about the children being much more mature. I saw the difference when they were visiting. You have two lil diamonds right there. They deserve greatness and you’ve done a fantastic job of delivering just that to them through their travel experiences.
They're okay here mostly because they like the school they're at...otherwise Accra doesn't have much to offer them tbh. It's a struggle for all of us living here at times. We are making it work though. 🖤
I need to hear more from them. I enjoyed listening to them.
Love, love, love~
They are so beautiful and highly intelligent. When they go back to Tanzania, tell them I’m going with them! 😆💕
Lol, we can all go together. 😩😆

Hey dada! ❤️❤️
Love the story. Would love to hear how he proposed.❤
There are no proposals in Islam. It's a decision between us and also our families.
You two make a beautiful couple thank you for sharing ❤
No land in Tanzania to acquire???
I address this in the video :)
I was smiling the whole time I watched this. I enjoy hearing how couples have met, and watching their faces as they retell the story - I could see the love on both of your faces. Beautiful love story! 🥰
Thank you for watching! 🥰✨
This was meant. Your good Sis knew what she was doing. All the flight cancels, etc. This makes me happy.

Ooh waow Migrating mom i am a Ghanaian living in Germany 🇩🇪 and I just came across your channel today the 1st of may and am like waow,i have just subscribed to your channel.
Thank you for subscribing! I hope you are enjoying Germany!
Awe that was lovely. 🥰 Marriage is hard but it takes time and compromise and you come out on the other side together accepting that no one is perfect but as long as you love each other enough to keep respecting each other you can be happy. 🥰
