This could be just me, but the DBZ specials, for all their flaws and weird plotlines, have a sort of charm to them, something in how the fights are done, the animation, and the villains are just so cold-blooded, it makes them feel pretty full of tension and the action just pops for me. I'd say Broly pretty much embodies that, he's sort of like the precursor to Kid Buu, a twisted demon of pure destruction who desires nothing but the total annihilation of _everything and everyone_ in the universe, and has the power and psychotic brutality to do it.
Fun Fact: Broly generally stands at 6' 1” in his regular form and becomes between 9' 0” and 9' 10” in his Legendary Super Saiyan form. Crazy right? And Goku stands at 5'9

I'll still never forget the soundtrack that complimented this movie. I already listened to this kind of music and when it's playing while broly says some cold ass shit and turns all my favorite characters into jelly stains I couldn't help but love this series to my core forever
I think it’s sad though, his backstory. People say it’s stupid, but Broly has clear signs of PTSD. Irritability, hostility, et cetera. When he thinks of Goku, or Kakarot, he thinks back to the time where his life was ruined. Everyone was dying around him, people were trying to kill him, and all he heard was the child next to him crying. It reminds him of that night; when everything fell apart. It’s truly tragic, when you think about it. Broly is a victim of Saiyan cruelty and extremely severe PTSD which stems into uncontrollable rage and egotism to deflect his own pain. Thinking that if he can kill the last reminder of what happened, that he could stop the pain. The pain of knowing that the moment he drew breath, he was unwanted and rejected. That the only person who accepted him, his father, was about to die too. Then on top of all this, to realize that same father thinks you’re a monster. A beast to be tamed, collared, and manipulated. Classic Broly has a whole lot more depth than you all think.
Too bad toei wasted his actual dark backstory and gave him a stupid connection with goku. If toei had just gone with the actual dark things that happened to him, this broly would've been my favorite.

Super Broly had a way more interesting backstory, but his Super Saiyan form wasn't much more than a feral animal that's lost control of itself and wants to kill anything it sees. Z Broly's backstory was dogwater, but he was absolutely ruthless. He was sadistic, disrespectful, and ran the fade of the five strongest members of the Dragon Team without even getting hurt once up until the end where they had to pull a win outta their asses.

If I remember right, one thing that makes Broly even more of a beast is that his energy always maxing while he's in his Legendary transformation. I know when I was younger people said he just gets stronger endlessly, but I remember reading on the wiki years ago that it just keeps refilling. And when it goes over his limit he needs to output it, like when he nukes the city randomly.
So while everyone getting weaker as the fight goes on, Broly got God mod going so that he's always at his strongest. They're literally trying to crack a wall that's been enchanted to repair itself instantly when damaged.
