    Man watch out HH! Looks like you got a Mountain Lion checkin out what youre doin over there. I could be wrong but they sure looked like big cat tracks to me! You may have a new subscriber called Mountain Lion! You have so many damn tools! I have a saw, a drill and a screwdriver I think somewhere- That structure is amazing- wish I could build like that!

    They are called Razor backer shears for cutting backer board. Backer board is often used for walls that will be tiled or stuccoed. Its hard to cut with a razor blade and even though I do it all the time its bad to use a grinder to cut cause of breathing all the dust. I used backer board and cement board for all my out door kitchens, fire pits and places. We stuccoed the jail today and our arms are killing us!

    I just was talking about that tool in my reply to bransonhauntedhills as you were writing the comment. I do have a lot of fun working with Jeana. When we first moved to LA we worked together for a catering company and served all kinds of famous people at award shows etc. it was a real crappy job but I loved being able to work with her. It was fun to stand on the opposite side of the room and watch guys try to pick up on her not knowing her husband was working among them!

    Thanks now I'm going to go check out you r wagon wheel video. I'd like to make some wheels for our haunt this year too! Can't wait!

    You got it, we were hired to build a old mining town for a children's summer camp. It will have a bank, mine, stage, jail, general store, and a water wheel and tower with a sluice gold panning area for the kids. The ironic thing is we landed the job after the two of us decided to change our theme this year to a western one. Kinda weird but cool!

    Do you dip the brush in more than once? And how many times do you run it over the bumps in the paint pan? LOL...sorry...I just had to. I like that paint pan and I don't have one but I will get one now cuz it does look pretty awesome. That jail is looking great. Loved your sign for the Mine also. Another great video!

    I want the old jail sign for me and I will put bad Prisoners in jail forever

    That's funny! Ya it took me a while to gather all those tools through the years and I still find myself needing ones I don't have. You can always make do it just takes longer and is usually harder. I think those tracks were coyote but whatever it was it was trying to get a rabbit or ground squirrel that got under the deck cause it was all dug up on the back side of the facade that morning.

    We used 1" EMT metal conduit. It's the thin stuff. It works well and feels more real than PVC.

    We are going to finish it today with the final touches and post the part 3 video tonight or tomorrow. Time frame when its all said and done counting today (8 days) but our start time each day ranges from 9:30 am to 11:00 am and then we clean up at 5:00 pm so the work days are short because of travel etc. It's a 1/2 half hour each way from home. Thanks for the comment!

    besides being really creative you two jail birds crack me up. This seems to be coming together so fast, how many days did it take you? Those logs at the top set this off, looks great =]

  • @HollywoodHaunter
    @HollywoodHaunter  Před 11 lety

    Only Jeana knows, I think she changes it so I don't find out the secret!

    Question...what is the name of the saw Chris used on the backer board? And why the backer board? I am not familiar with that material. Is it because you are going to stucco it? I think I heard you say stucco.

    @awokennightmare4075 Před 11 lety +1

    Awesome stuff guys! I'm catching up on all your vlogs so sorry if this question has been answered. As I understand it, your building this as part of your jobs(which is totally awesome!) but, are you planning on also doing a western themed home haunt as well? If i'm wrong about anything please correct me. Keep up the good work guys!

  • @bransonhauntedhills
    @bransonhauntedhills Před 11 lety +1

    Ah...my hubby was right, he said he thought it was like shears. Very cool tool. Thank you for explaining the backer board. Since you were so kind to answer my questions, I am going to shoot for one more...sorry, but is the backer board fire resistant and/or water proof? I promise that is the last question I will ask.
    You guys are getting quite the workout from this job...who needs a gym! You are both going to be all buffed up! I hope you get some rest...maybe it will rain again. LOL

    You guys crack me up. What size conduit did you use for the bars? I am going to copy this for the bars on the window of the patient's room in the asylum. Thanks for the vid guys!!!

    Isn't backerboard kind of expensive? I thought the stucco guys used roof felt paper and chicken wire then they stucco it. Not that I know anything except to cringe at the thought of costs!!!
