    Excellent tutorial, Meeka! I am visiting my daughter in Nairobi, Kenya from my home in Ireland. My daughter is a teacher in a school here and she is currently involved in directing a school musical. They need a prop barrel for the stage and yours truly has been assigned the project of creating it! Thankfully we came across your CZcams tutorial...so here goes! I'll let you know how I get on and hopefully send you a photograph. 👌😀

    Paper packing tape would have been better if you were painting it. It's just as strong as clear-tape and matches the cardboard, and best of all, it's paintable. :3

    I had never heard of "Larpers" before so I looked it up. I am super interested in getting into this!!! How does that work???? Do tell.

      @MeekaChannel  Před 4 lety +2

      ZanyProductionz awesome well you basically look for larps in your area online. You find one that interests you and you find their social media (it’s usually gonna be a Facebook page/group). You’re gonna wanna find their website for all their info like rules and where they play/ how long they play, and how much it costs. You can questions in the fb group.
      For example my current larp we play starting on Friday nights at 7pm til we fall asleep, then play again Saturday at 8am til we fall asleep again. Then Sunday morning is clean up. Most people spend the night at the park but I personally like to drive home or sleep in my car at night. For the whole weekend to play as my character it costs me $50.
      You can also play as an NPC which means you would basically play a set in game character with a script and that is usually free.

    i'm making a pirate and mermaid theme in my bathroom and this will be perfect. I've got to make it shorter, and probably put a circular piece of wood on top in order to use it as a table for decorations. But thank you so much for posting this. THis is perfect!

    P.S. Using E6000 spots perodically around it to instant hold until your hotglue cures enough to hold it, works perfectly !!

    This tutorial is exactly what I'm looking for. Our Rotary Club is doing an annual Octoberfest fundraiser, and I'm in charge of the decorations. Since we will be outside, but rain is unlikely in Arizona at that time, I'll probably coat it with clear drying PVAc. premium wood glue for added protection. You are very creative.

    I think black Duct tape would be more realistic for medieval bands. Black wrought iron was likely used more than a silver colored metal which would be used for armor for the elite. Just thinking more pirates and transporting barrels. My son does Ren Faire in Wisconsin. I love the look and making projects with cardboard. Thumbs 👍

    Skip the duct tape, skip the rope. Cut a cardboard strip, and wrap tinfoil around it, and cut circles for rivets, wrapping them with tinfoil. Age with watered down acrylic paint

    Hi. We are interested in making a barrel that would fit a 15 by 15 inch cube inside it. Would your larger barrel work for that, or do you know what size box would work for this? Thanks!
