Something a little bit different this week! I would like to start by saying that I am not a professional content creator or editor for that matter. What I can say though is the way media is consumed has changed. Short form content has taken the world by storm. The rise of TicToc has launched short form content across multiple platforms.
What I want to show you is how I have integrated this into my own content creation. Its primarily aimed at my fellow creators in the Fly Fishing arena but also a look at behind the scenes and what goes into making a 1 minute video.
I hope it is of interest and helps a few people who are trying to get into making video content for fly tying and fly fishing.

Your vlogs in all forms showcase the best of your passions. Fly fishing, fly tying, camera work, helping/informing others. As ever your honesty and professionalism shone through. Practice and repetition are a cornerstone to your success. Again thank you for all of your amazing work.
Thanks Mick, your to kind.
I really enjoy your fly tying videos and I appreciate how well you put them together. I am learning techniques from them and get my own ideas from your flies as well. Thank you!!!!
Very welcome pal.
excellent video of how you put everything together on video for us to pick up tips and try to tie a better fly .a great insight to the work you do for us to enjoy
thanks again Lindsay
Glad you enjoyed it!
Lindsay, Fantastic explanations on how you make the videos, I was going to tell you when I saw you at the Fly Tying Show that I prefer your longer versions of you making flies than the short ones. Please continue to make them longer and explain HOW TO FISH them. Kind Regards Ray Larkin Ex 3 para. I must invite you down to our lake if you let me know your available dates.
Awesome! Thank you! They each have there place pal. I am already fairly booked up for the year, where are you based?

I loved this behind the scenes on how short form videos are made. Fantastic job!!
Thanks Thomas 👍
Really interesting Lindsay 👌👌👌
Glad you enjoyed it Robbie, it won't be for everyone.
This helps alot. I just started making shorts for fun and the quality is very subpar. Thank you very much for the time it took to our this together! My camera is just cellphone on a jig made from plywood scraps 😂 the background sheet is a great idea. Thanks again!
Edit: And, yes. I'm watching this from a mobile
Glad you have made a start, it does get easier as you go.
👏👏👏👏👍
Technology has moved on a bit since watching films made in Super 8 format.😉
A bit 🤣
I seen myself in there!
Your already famous 😉
Crikey, technology at its best. Wouldn't it be good if your tuition could be part of the school curriculum, that way it might bring more youngsters into fly tying and fly fishing. As a retired head teacher I would have welcomed it.
Would be a great after school hobby for sure.
Lindsey where did you get your folding bobbin holder from?
Sorry Johnny had it for donkeys years. It sat in a box of bits till I started using it for this. No idea where it came from.
Don't filter out your rich Scottish accent! It makes the videos better.
Sometimes it’s just a little rough it won’t go completely. Lived in the South of England for 30years and it has softened a bit.
