You’ll be glad to know that Vice did announce that season 3 of “Dark Side of the Ring” is a go.
I really feel bad for Owen’s wife and kids. I can’t imagine how devastated Martha must have felt when she first learned of her husband’s demise. When she said that she screamed and cried for a long time was heartbreaking to hear. I can’t imagine how Oje must have felt when his mom had to tell him that his dad was never coming home and poor Athena was probably too young to fully remember her father. Truly a sad story here.
Dude I never met Owen but watched him my whole life and I take comfort in actually being Owen Hart fan, born in Alberta it’s sort of like a right ....and two days before he died I rented wrestlemania ten on vhs, I think that’s why it hurt so much when I first heard it?
But I cried then and I got tears during this hearing Owen day “it’s a tough life but will all be worth itl (paraphrase)
So if a total stranger (albeit fan) could be effected so much by this I can’t even begin to ponder how they feel. You can see it effect them in how they talk. Guys like JR, Cornette all of these guys are still haunted and traumatized by this to say it’s a sad story forgive me for saying is quite the understatement.
It’s one thing to die tragically at a a young age but like that....for no reason at all...when your such a good person in a business of scum bags , they had just moved into their dream house that week too
I meant to say at the beginning when I wrote “I take comfort” that I take comfort in being a legit fan of the guy. I know everyone and their grandmother is an “owen Hart fan” now the same way everyone was an Eddie guerrrro fan all of the sudden. (Keeping in mind that both guys had big fan bases) and that it’s completely okay for people to become fans and have respect later or to not of been watching then, I’m not bashing you, more so the people “I’m owens biggest fan” kind of people who didn’t care at all when it happened or weren’t even watching.
It’s the kind of thing that always bugged me is he was just so under appteciAted.
I remember in the final four back in 1999 in the rumble it was something like austin McMahon dlo brown bossman and Owen (so I guess that’s five but McMahon was on commentary) I remember saying because Austin was so obvious and had won the last two, damn I hope Owen wins. But I knew better, this was the height of the attitude era and Owen was back in the mid card wearing a road sign on his outfit.
It was really hard on Oje because on May 22 1999 Oje went to the airport to say to his owen and Owen's last words 😢 to Oje ❤ were: take care of your mother 👩 and your sister 😢 😞 💔
R.I.P Shad 😢❤️
This episode was so good Owen was such a great wrestler and all of the footage they used was very good. Everyone involved especially Martha did a good job.
Owen Hart is TOO GOOD for the wwe Hall of “Fame”
I agree and Owen hart was such a kind person who cared about others. The Owen Hart foundation is the best way to honor him.
Exactly! There is no wwe hall of fame.
I am a lifelong wrestling fan I don’t like the word fake particularly but it is ironic how even their hall of fame isn’t real.
Yeah instead of REAL TALENT you have William "the refrigerator Perry" inducted...yup-Owen is FAR BEYOND THAT FAKE SHIT PLACE
when I was younger, I wanted Owen in the Hall of Fame, now, I'm not so sure anymore. Martha has a point to be bitter, but at the same time, she should not keep his matches and legacy locked up by WWE by threatening to sue them when they show a clip of Owen where we cannot relive her husband's legacy as a wrestler. He was a beast in the ring and should have been world champion.
1. *Godspeed, Owen Hart*
2. #RIPShad
3. To me, Owen Hart is in my personal Hall of Fame.
He don't need WWE to be legitimized.
4. Suggestions for episodes I have for Season 3 of Dark Side of the Ring:
- The day WCW closed its doors
- Eddie Guerrero
- WWE going PG
- Randy Savage & Elizabeth
- The Plane Ride From Hell
- The New World Order (NWO)
- Ultimate Warrior
- The very first WrestleMania
Curious about Warrior. I mean the guy was a piece of shit.
Also one on Adrian Adonis
Some those aren’t really dark sides of wrestling tho
Like to see Brian Pillman, Legacy of Ultimate Warrior, Ric Flair, Plane ride from hell, Luger and Liz, Hulkmania , and WrestleMania 3 .
@Brandon Linares Probably would focus on Miss Elizabeth's death, so it would involve Luger in some way
It's a shame of what happened to Owen Hart. He could've been what Kurt Angle ended up becoming. He would do a little comedy here and there but was a wrestling machine when it came time for a big match. Imagine Owen vs. Kurt, Owen vs. Benoit, Owen vs. Jericho..
Hopefully it wouldn't include losing to boring midcard heel & coincidentally Kansas City native Baron/Constable/King Corbin like Angle did.
I was too young to watch Owen perform, but I will say: As long as we remember him, he will live forever.
Damn what a hard week. I just finished seeing this episode. Teared up multiple times especially seeing his close relationship with his family. Truly an amazing man. Just someone who had that amazing vibe with everyone.
The darkside of ring season 3
The life of death of chyna
The British bulldogs
The plane ride from hell
The life and death of brian pillman
The story of marty janety
Steroid and drug use in the wwe
The wrestling suicide of wrestler
This episode settled the hall of fame debate in my opinion. WWE doesn't deserve to have Owen. His wife and kids are 100% right. The episode was tough to watch as I thought it was gonna be. RIP Owen, we miss you so much.
Man Greg not gonna lie this episode on Owen's goes right up there with The Benoit One - All The Home Video footage we never saw of Owen, The Police Photos at the actual PPV after the show. I don't think we ever knew how inexperienced The Rigging Crew was till Martha mentioned it and looking back they definitely should've ended the show when Owen fell, Oje and Corny was right about The Stunt this all could've been avoided to begin with. #LONGLIVEOWENJAMESHART
This one was like Shad, he didnt deserve to go out like that. Neither did Chris. But Benoit was waaaay more fucked up than this one, again, this one just happned right in front of us, literally (at least those who were there)
That documentary was hard to watch. Like holy shit; it was so spine-tingling see Martha Hart. For the first time, for me. You can sincerely tell the scars are still there but she is a strong mom and a strong woman and that is fucking amazing. Her kids too! I am happy to see that they are doing well in life; Owen would be proud. Owen is proud every single day.
I would also like to go back to Greg's comment on the harness thing: Martha also mentioned that the WWE was also trying to save a few bucks essentially by hiring a "B team" to get Owen down, Owen out of the harness quickly rather than taking the normal safety protocols from a much more veteran team that did stunts like that; this as many have said, and as i have said - could've been all prevented had the Creative Team, had Vince been 100% more smarter.
I grieve with Martha and i still side with her on the decision by not inducting Owen in the Hall of Fame. Understand, that this woman lost the most incredible thing that has ever happened to her, She lost her husband, and to have be in the same room with Vince, hell to get the phone call that no one wants to get - it's truly heartbreaking.
I hope. I really hope Martha finds peace, along with her kids. I really do.
Season 3 premier will be on the greatest heel turn in wrestling.... Sid Vicious' ankle
Thanks for the video, it helps a lot for us fans after seeing the documentary.
Thanks For This Video Greg I Watched The Documentary Last Night And I Started Crying When Jim Cornette Was Talking About Owen Hart's Fall And I Respect Martha Hart's Decision On Owen Hart And The WWE Hall of Fame After Watching This Documentary
I cried watching this new episode. I could barely handle it. So sad on all accounts.
They need to do a 2 hour program on Grizzly Smith, Jake, Rockin Robin, and Sam Houston.
Jake the Snake needs a VICE EPS
Why? His life has been repaired, thanks to DDP. Same for Scott Hall.
I'm so happy his family is doing good. Martha did an amazing job raising the kids by herself. Now I'm considering donating to the Owen Hart Foundation.
Yeah.... “considering”
One of the things they could cover is the Collision in Korea event in '95 and just all the batshit things that happened behind the scenes.
Once again Greg great review. I too am awaiting for season 3 of Cobra Kai. How come U never did a Cobra Kai season or episode review? Yes, Jericho is correct. Owen and William Zabka are ringers for each other. I too miss the King of Harts!
At 6:16, that documentary A&E did Owen Hart came out in 1999. A few months after he died.
I believe that Martha said they used the best rigging company in the previous drops. But for Over The Top they used a cheaper company. I think it was even headed by WWE’s own rigger who had no experience with repelling.
I was fortunate enough to be able to watch Stampede Wrestling. And watch Owen's rise from the beginning. He was a hell of a talent.
I think Magnum TA would be a great topic for season 3 & I wouldn’t mind a Bad News Brown & a Sherri Martel episode either..
That episode almost made me cry 😭
good review
I liked how in the Dark Side Of The Ring documentary we got to see what Owen Hart's life was like not just in wrestling but outside of it. It was great seeing those never before seen family pictures and videos of him with his wife and kids. There wasn't enough details about his wrestling career and the majority of it was glossed over. It was more about Owen's wife and kids and what happened the day he died. What about what he meant to the wrestlers who worked with Owen during his career ? and what the WWE fans meant to him too ? It wasn't just about Owen and Martha, I wish more details about his wrestling career was included in the documentary but it is what it is.
Owen didn't LOVE wrestling like his kin did. He only saw it as a means to provide for his family. He was going to retire & leave the industry behind him permanently.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Well according to his former WWE co workers, especially his brother Bret Hart, Mark Henry and The Rock they LOVED working with Owen and he loved them not just in the ring but in the locker room. They said he was more than just a guy who was in it for the money, he loved the wrestling business and the fans aside from his family members. Owen might've felt like leaving the business behind towards the end of his life but a lot of his wrestling peers had great things to say about him even to this day.
@@jerelminter It's like what Corny said in the documentary, though he may loved the business, it was NOT his life like it was for the rest of the Harts. Owen's life was his developing family life with Martha, Oje & Athena. Wrestling, by proxy, was merely only an inherited pit stop simply used as a means to provide for his family until he could happily retire soon thereafter.
@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Yes everybody is going to have different versions of how Owen was as a person depending on who interacted with him at the time when he was alive. It doesn't mean that their version is true, it's just from their perspective.
@@jerelminter We know that what I had stated was irrefutable fact because it wasn't just Martha & the kids saying it, but in fact, Owen himself was filmed echoing the sentiment in archival footage, so we have concrete documented proof that his family meant far more than anything ever associated with wresting.
I was thinking about Vice maybe doing the Ring Boy scandal.
I would like to see a documentary on Nikki Roxx and her hardships in her wrestling career. She was consistently screwed over by TNA at a time when the Knockouts division was actually hot. In fact she was one of the Knockout originals along with Awesome Kong and Gail Kim. I guess you could tie in other women's wrestlers who worked with Roxx because she isn't herself a really well known name in wrestling. I was just a really big fan of hers and thought that she was dealt a really raw deal by TNA and should have been picked up by the WWE. I did hear that Nikki was not only trained by Killer Kowalski but was trained for free when others most notably a fellow student named Chyna had to actually pay. idk
What I would like to see in season 3:
Steroid trial
Yokozuna
Chyna
Plane Ride From Hell
Jeff Hardy/Victory Road 2011
Heroes Of Wrestling PPV
Haku's various fights and incidents
Brian Pillman
I like to see one on heroes of wrestling.
They could do a TEDDY hart episode in season 3, although, like Sunny, his story isn't over either
I have a controversial idea. Austin and Debras fiasco. At least confront it in the same way Dr Dre confronted his altercation with Dee Barnes in his documentary.
Not only did they do the title change with Undertaker and Stone Cold but Vince APPEARED ON CAMERA during the main event! Are you shitting me lol like why
season 3 ideas
1.Steroid/Ringboy scandal
2. Death of Miss Elizabeth
3. Plane Ride From Hell
4. Last Days of Brian Pillman
5. Death of the Territories
6. The British Bulldogs
7. Drug addiction and CTE in wrestling
8. Vince McMahon ( an analysis of the most controversial figure in wrestling)
I was 10 when Owen Hart died it was shocking n crazy it happen almost 25 years ago.
The Magnum T A Story or Mr Perfect and Rick Rude. Darkside of the Ring.
I would like an Eddie Guerrero episode for Dark Side Of The Ring Season 3 but they talked about his career and death in the Chris Benoit episode
There is a lot they could go into in a stand alone Eddie one
I agree Owen. Did. Look like Johnny from cobra Kai
The previous rigger, Joe Branam, was the one that was the best in the business. WWF thought Branam was too expensive and they were annoyed Branam kept refusing to do a quick release rig for safety reasons. So WWF went with Bobby Talbert, a cheaper, less experienced rigger who would do what they wanted with the quick release. I agree Owen should never have been up there, but it's more inexcusable that WWF was warned what they wanted to do with the quick release rig was not safe and they did it anyway
The Blue Blazer stunt gone wrong was very distressing and that’s why I’d stayed away from Over The Edge on the Network. Owen is still be missed. R.I.P.
Kevin Dunn could go rot in hell asking the company to continue the show after Owen’s death. He’s still a piece of shit because he’s still employed by the WWE.
Why couldn’t they have made his character that of a great wrestler?? Something like Owen Hart, the master technician in the ring, there’s nobody who can get the best of him in a pure wrestling match. Play to his strengths instead of giving him the blue blazer gimmick yet again. Which was fine when he first started in the WWF as was said here, but not after he’d been a top level performer for the past 5-6 years.
I was 8 when this happened and it was a horrible day for a wrestling fan. Rest In Peace Owen Hart. 😥
On one hand I sympathize with her. I mean Owen Hart didn't have to do that ridiculous stunt. On top of that, he should have left for WCW. He still would be here with all of us. WWE should have stopped the show and it never felt right going on with the show. Even if there was no bad blood between them, it would be awkward on both parties to induct a man who died in the same company.
On the other hand, I still wish he was in the Hall of Fame. Say what you will but he has a right to be inducted. People say that "WWE Hall of Fame is FAKE AND GARBAGE!" Yet they are the same fans who make Rant Videos about why so & so is inducted. Besides, this isn't a Benoit situation where someone murdered his family. Owen is in a better place above & I think that he wouldn't want his wife to hold a grudge forever. That's no way to live your life. Also, Bret Hart has said that if she doesn't then he will on behalf of Owen. It's his brother after all.
My question is whether or not she would sue WWE & who would win?
If I had to guess if wwe wanted to put him in they could and yes she would sue and they would get another lawsuit. I’m sure wwe doesn’t want to deal with that. As a huge Owen fan and someone who doesn’t make rant videos, he doesn’t need to be in the wwe HOF if that’s the way his wife and children see it.
@@chrismorin51 No, they can't. She owns his likeness. She wants nothing to do with WWE since she rightfully holds them accountable for the gross negligence which killed her husband.
TherealRNO yes, I know she wants nothing to do with them. In the past wwe still went ahead and made dvds with with his likeness and she sued them. All I’m saying is if they wanted to put him in without her permission they could. (What stops wwe from doing anything they want to do) and as I said up above she would sue
@@chrismorin51 While true WWE could just go into business for themselves (which they have, courtesy of the technically illegally sold Hart of Gold DVD/Blu-Ray rumored to have been put forth by the other Harts indebted to the business as well as the WWE itself without Martha's willing consent & the use of retro Attitude Era video footage of Owen used within Steve Austin's WWE2K16 Showcase Mode even if Owen wasn't allowed to be a licensed playable character in-game [outside of unofficial Creation Suite versions of him made by WWE gamers] for obvious legal reasons), they would be further ignoring the mandates dictated in the settlement they signed off on just to avoid the matter going to courtroom trial & Vince Russo, Vince McMahon & Bobby Talbert all potentially going to prison like they actually deserved.
I feel bad for Martha and the kids
Seeing Corny cry was hard to watch.
RIP Owen Hart
Mr perfect rick rude macho man
Joy to The Black Hart Owen Hart.... Forever in the Lifestream.... I'm Not A Nugget. I'm a WINNER.... WOOOOOOOOO
Difficult it was to watch. We all miss owen so much
How about Vince Grant Owen his release!! Like he wanted and follow the rest of the Hart Foundation 🖤...to WCW...less that 2 yrs later...you know the rest...another Life that that old man has Ruined!!
Chyna
GOD GIVE US BACK OWEN HART AND WILL GIVE U ADAM BROOKS !!!
The end of wcw
New Jack ..Owen Hart #1
GOD GIVE US BACK OWEN HART AND WILL GIVE U WILL ROOD !!!
That part in the documentary which showed Owen's promo as Bret was leaving the ring: "Bret, your ego is too big, you only worry about yourself," is depressing. Also Vince did mention in an interview that when he linked up with Bret Hart after Owen's death, he only mentioned Owen once, and the rest of the conversation was about him and how Vince ruined his life. You hate to see it.
Bret also went on to explain later that because of the lawsuit with Martha which Bret was 100% behind her on, which was still in the early stages at that point, he legally couldn't talk much about Owen. But of course Vince was going to twist it to make Bret seem like the worst person like Vince always did with Bret at that time.
I am so glad Martha isn’t caving in to the WWE
She’s mad at Bret because he went back to Vince
Bret knows how to forgive and mend fences
Your a Hypocrite Hill and it shows on every video with you’re comments
@BigBoss what does her being a leftist have to do with her losing her husband and not forgiving vince ?
Owen Hart deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame because he doesn't deserve to be blacklisted. Martha Hart needs to grow up and let her late husband be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. WWE can censor Chris Benoit and Jimmy Snuka, but they cannot censor Owen Hart.
Screw that. Owen Hart is above such phony garbage. The HOF is a joke internet web page full of people who only go in at Mr. McMahon's whims. WWE IS 100% legally responsible for Owen's death, yet it ended up labeled an accident? An accident, my ass. The WWE's gross negligence basically murdered Owen & their shady business practices are an insult to Owen's humanitarian efforts, so they DON'T deserve Owen. The HOF NEEDS Owen, but Owen himself DOESN'T need it.
She's more grown than your pathetic ass will ever be.
"Needs to grow up"? Martha Hart doesn't need to do a damn thing. Why would she want her husband to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of a company that sued her? Owen Hart is already in a few Hall of Fames as it is. His legacy is already solidified.
STFU u dont tell Martha what to do
