I really feel bad for Owen’s wife and kids. I can’t imagine how devastated Martha must have felt when she first learned of her husband’s demise. When she said that she screamed and cried for a long time was heartbreaking to hear. I can’t imagine how Oje must have felt when his mom had to tell him that his dad was never coming home and poor Athena was probably too young to fully remember her father. Truly a sad story here.

Dude I never met Owen but watched him my whole life and I take comfort in actually being Owen Hart fan, born in Alberta it’s sort of like a right ....and two days before he died I rented wrestlemania ten on vhs, I think that’s why it hurt so much when I first heard it?
But I cried then and I got tears during this hearing Owen day “it’s a tough life but will all be worth itl (paraphrase)
So if a total stranger (albeit fan) could be effected so much by this I can’t even begin to ponder how they feel. You can see it effect them in how they talk. Guys like JR, Cornette all of these guys are still haunted and traumatized by this to say it’s a sad story forgive me for saying is quite the understatement.
It’s one thing to die tragically at a a young age but like that....for no reason at all...when your such a good person in a business of scum bags , they had just moved into their dream house that week too

    • @MixerMadness
      @MixerMadness Před 4 lety +1

I meant to say at the beginning when I wrote “I take comfort” that I take comfort in being a legit fan of the guy. I know everyone and their grandmother is an “owen Hart fan” now the same way everyone was an Eddie guerrrro fan all of the sudden. (Keeping in mind that both guys had big fan bases) and that it’s completely okay for people to become fans and have respect later or to not of been watching then, I’m not bashing you, more so the people “I’m owens biggest fan” kind of people who didn’t care at all when it happened or weren’t even watching.
It’s the kind of thing that always bugged me is he was just so under appteciAted.
I remember in the final four back in 1999 in the rumble it was something like austin McMahon dlo brown bossman and Owen (so I guess that’s five but McMahon was on commentary) I remember saying because Austin was so obvious and had won the last two, damn I hope Owen wins. But I knew better, this was the height of the attitude era and Owen was back in the mid card wearing a road sign on his outfit.

when I was younger, I wanted Owen in the Hall of Fame, now, I'm not so sure anymore. Martha has a point to be bitter, but at the same time, she should not keep his matches and legacy locked up by WWE by threatening to sue them when they show a clip of Owen where we cannot relive her husband's legacy as a wrestler. He was a beast in the ring and should have been world champion.

I don't think we ever knew how inexperienced The Rigging Crew was till Martha mentioned it and looking back they definitely should've ended the show when Owen fell, Oje and Corny was right about The Stunt this all could've been avoided to begin with. #LONGLIVEOWENJAMESHART

That documentary was hard to watch. Like holy shit; it was so spine-tingling see Martha Hart. For the first time, for me. You can sincerely tell the scars are still there but she is a strong mom and a strong woman and that is fucking amazing. Her kids too! I am happy to see that they are doing well in life; Owen would be proud. Owen is proud every single day.
I would also like to go back to Greg's comment on the harness thing: Martha also mentioned that the WWE was also trying to save a few bucks essentially by hiring a "B team" to get Owen down, Owen out of the harness quickly rather than taking the normal safety protocols from a much more veteran team that did stunts like that; this as many have said, and as i have said - could've been all prevented had the Creative Team, had Vince been 100% more smarter.
I grieve with Martha and i still side with her on the decision by not inducting Owen in the Hall of Fame. Understand, that this woman lost the most incredible thing that has ever happened to her, She lost her husband, and to have be in the same room with Vince, hell to get the phone call that no one wants to get - it's truly heartbreaking.
I hope. I really hope Martha finds peace, along with her kids. I really do.

I liked how in the Dark Side Of The Ring documentary we got to see what Owen Hart's life was like not just in wrestling but outside of it. It was great seeing those never before seen family pictures and videos of him with his wife and kids. There wasn't enough details about his wrestling career and the majority of it was glossed over. It was more about Owen's wife and kids and what happened the day he died. What about what he meant to the wrestlers who worked with Owen during his career ? and what the WWE fans meant to him too ? It wasn't just about Owen and Martha, I wish more details about his wrestling career was included in the documentary but it is what it is.

@@TherealRNOwwfpooh Well according to his former WWE co workers, especially his brother Bret Hart, Mark Henry and The Rock they LOVED working with Owen and he loved them not just in the ring but in the locker room. They said he was more than just a guy who was in it for the money, he loved the wrestling business and the fans aside from his family members. Owen might've felt like leaving the business behind towards the end of his life but a lot of his wrestling peers had great things to say about him even to this day.

@@jerelminter It's like what Corny said in the documentary, though he may loved the business, it was NOT his life like it was for the rest of the Harts. Wrestling, by proxy, was merely only an inherited pit stop simply used as a means to provide for his family until he could happily retire soon thereafter.

In fact she was one of the Knockout originals along with Awesome Kong and Gail Kim. I guess you could tie in other women's wrestlers who worked with Roxx because she isn't herself a really well known name in wrestling. I was just a really big fan of hers and thought that she was dealt a really raw deal by TNA and should have been picked up by the WWE. The previous rigger, Joe Branam, was the one that was the best in the business. WWF thought Branam was too expensive and they were annoyed Branam kept refusing to do a quick release rig for safety reasons. So WWF went with Bobby Talbert, a cheaper, less experienced rigger who would do what they wanted with the quick release. I agree Owen should never have been up there, but it's more inexcusable that WWF was warned what they wanted to do with the quick release rig was not safe and they did it anyway

Something like Owen Hart, the master technician in the ring, there’s nobody who can get the best of him in a pure wrestling match. Play to his strengths instead of giving him the blue blazer gimmick yet again. Which was fine when he first started in the WWF as was said here, but not after he’d been a top level performer for the past 5-6 years.

I was 8 when this happened and it was a horrible day for a wrestling fan. Rest In Peace Owen Hart. 😥
On one hand I sympathize with her. I mean Owen Hart didn't have to do that ridiculous stunt. On top of that, he should have left for WCW. He still would be here with all of us. WWE should have stopped the show and it never felt right going on with the show. Even if there was no bad blood between them, it would be awkward on both parties to induct a man who died in the same company.
On the other hand, I still wish he was in the Hall of Fame. Say what you will but he has a right to be inducted. People say that "WWE Hall of Fame is FAKE AND GARBAGE!" Yet they are the same fans who make Rant Videos about why so & so is inducted. Besides, this isn't a Benoit situation where someone murdered his family. Owen is in a better place above & I think that he wouldn't want his wife to hold a grudge forever. That's no way to live your life. Also, Bret Hart has said that if she doesn't then he will on behalf of Owen. It's his brother after all.

Owen Hart deserves to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame because he doesn't deserve to be blacklisted. Martha Hart needs to grow up and let her late husband be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. WWE can censor Chris Benoit and Jimmy Snuka, but they cannot censor Owen Hart.

Screw that. Owen Hart is above such phony garbage. The HOF is a joke internet web page full of people who only go in at Mr. McMahon's whims. WWE IS 100% legally responsible for Owen's death, yet it ended up labeled an accident? An accident, my ass. The WWE's gross negligence basically murdered Owen & their shady business practices are an insult to Owen's humanitarian efforts, so they DON'T deserve Owen. The HOF NEEDS Owen, but Owen himself DOESN'T need it.

"Needs to grow up"? Martha Hart doesn't need to do a damn thing. Why would she want her husband to be inducted into the Hall of Fame of a company that sued her? Owen Hart is already in a few Hall of Fames as it is. His legacy is already solidified.
