Half the young youtubers these days are constantly reeling against their drag while fighting fish and/or pointing their rods away from the fish beyond a 90° angle. Kind of like yelling " let's go" after you've already caught the fish, not sure where all this silly crap came from, it's annoying af.
It doesn’t help to reel when you hear your drag being pulled. Your not gaining any ground, just putting stress on your gear and unnecessary movement into the mix. Let the rod along with the drag fight the fish.

Thanks for reaching out, if you like getting in the water, going to the creeks on google maps usinh a ned rig is great for bass, also using a 7 foot medium action spinning rod with 8lb test will make it feel nice fighting them!
Awesome I appreciate it. Yeah I mean I can see tons of creeks lol I guess just not knowing if it has public access or if it's even a spot with fish is my issue but exploring will have to do 😂

That little knob at the front of the reel is for this magical thing called DRAG. May want to turn it up just a tad.
