How FISH REACT to NIGHTCRAWLERS UNDERWATER! (Surprising)

- This are the clearest shots I have ever got of fish! We dropped our camera in a highly pressured warm water discharge that feeds into the Potomac river.
We saw bass, bluegill, catfish, and even some tilapia down there! The fish were fairly finicky, and did not seem to interested in the worm, but we still got some amazing footage.
As a reminder we were fishing very cold winter conditions, so I am eager to see how fish react come the summer time.
This underwater camera is amazing and so versatile. I cannot wait to use it again! There is a link down below to the camera if you all wanna check it out!

Panfish, especially Bluegill are the most underrated fish. They make good eating, the are sporty and pretty fish.
You are not lying!! Nothing like catching a mess of em on a hot day and fry em up once it cools down outside! Heaven on earth
I agree the different colors
They just get picked on because they are seen as small, common, and easy to catch
@@SweetMangoMuncher They are pretty damn easy to catch. Got a dozen of them in a couple of hours.
@@santannathegreat5167 legit last night always awesome
Seeing how much a bass goes "Hmmmm I don't like the look of it", is incredible
Bass are predators…worms are NOT prey….😅
I say the worm balled up makes them think twice. If only hooked once on the end much more natural.
@@biggwillbeats4384 Dang, really? Someone should notify the bass where I live. I wonder why the bass section at the tackle shop has so many rubber worms in it.
@@Testibus00 to hook 🫵🏾.😂😆
@@Testibus00 thats what im saying, some of my biggest bass came off of a zman zinker or yama senko
8:51 😂Now after many many years I see why the bluegill bite is always rapid TAP Tap TAP Tap TAP Tap TAP Tap TAP Tap!!!!!!! It’s them shaking their head furiously with part of the bait in their mouth. I had always imagined bite bite bite … and not shake shake shake. Cool!!! Thanks!!!!
My thoughts exactly! 😂😂
Your worm was DOA and never moved a bit. Don't hook it so many times and fish with the whole worm instead of pinching it in half. If they see your worm wiggling on the bottom they'll be more likely to take it. If you feel like the bait is just to large switch to smaller worms like maybe a red wiggler.
if it dangles they’ll nip at it and pull it off the hook instead of actually biting the hook
@@ashbyscott4180 That's not always true it depends on the fish there's videos showing it on CZcams, they make this sucking/inhaling and suck the whole worm in. Yes sometimes small fish will nibble but bigger fish won't.
@@dannymaiorani519 yea
@@dannymaiorani519 i wouldn't speak for it if you don't do it yourself.
@@afkinthebrain3421 I have tried both ways, I have way better luck not bunching it on the hook, and also if you go to amy major fishing or outdoor place, they are going to tell you not to bunch it on the hook. The wiggling action triggers something in them kind of like the action you get tiger or another prey animal when something runs from them.
After watching this it is interesting to see how smart these fish are they were very aware of the suspicious bait.
This video packs so much knowledge on how these fish react and what’s needed to get the job done. Great video !
Thanks! That means a lot!
@@cdgbdrhvnh, your way of throwing this as bait into the water is amazing and I love it. It's too bad that no one has bitten it yet, it seems. Praying for a catch is always a good idea.
Gizzard shad: "I saw a hook! I just died."
Those who know how sensitive gizzard shad are will understand this humor.
Some of the sunfish color patterns look great in that clear water. Gives me ideas for paint patterns on lures
Oh yea there yah go! You’ve been killin it with that lately
@@TheFishinMagician20 try using a size 8 Aberdeen bronze hook
@@TheFishinMagician20 wax worms works best when they are shy at bitting
In my experience nightcrawlers work best on bobbers, not bottom fishing.
Pretty decent size bluegill. Can’t believe the amount and range of fish. Those black bass are gorgeous.
i use like a pencil eraser sized piece of worm for blue gill and it works every time
I love how fish react to Nightcrawlers especially catfish bass like largemouth bass smallmouth bass bluegill carp even walleye and saugeye creek chubs and more
What a fun video... Great shots of all those different species!
Leonardo coming in like it's no one's business.
Good stuff. I'd be interested to see real time of both the bite and how it affects the rod tip. I've been fishing the mississippi for catfish and am to the point to where I feel like I can tell the difference between a cat or a gar bite. But I'm still so curious as to what's going on under there to make that rod tip look different.of course, fishing in very heavy current makes a huge difference too.
Outstanding clear images .. 👌 Bates fish all over playing with your 🪱 . Excellent job..
Thank you Richard 🎣🎣
Cool concept. Would love to see you do this trolling or with lures.
Wow! This is so cool! I can't believe these fish were so active on a high pressure clear blue sky sunny day. Usually that turns fish off and then become lethargic and bury in the weeds. But that would explain why they weren't feeding, but the warm water may have kept them active if it was cold out . I can't believe there's invasive species like tilapia as well in the Potomac River! You should try injecting the worm with air using a needle and syringe. There's videos on how to do it and the worm would float up or put a floating jig head that might have helped
I know right! Yes next time I will be floating it forsure 🤘🏼
You should try injecting the worm with air using a needle and syringe ... agreed
I love this video set up.. great to see the fish react..
Awesome vid. Thank you for this.
This is sooooo cool! Thanks man!!
Love the camera even if the fish didn't bite. So interesting. I love catching panfish.
More great footage thank you for this valuable information
Thanks Jeremy 👍🏼
Great video! Enjoyed the perspective.
Great video Mark, man its amazing what video shows you, keep it rollin brother, thanks for all you do
Hey that’s forsure! Thanks for the kind words Bobby
I might just use this camera trick, love the ingenuity
I’d be so mad to see all these fish jsut swim right by my bait without bighting it 😂. Good stuff man.
Really interesting to see! Thanks!
Very interesting good job would enjoy watching more videos like this this
beautiful shots of beautiful fish in clear water. that pond looks like a very healthy ecosystem. too cool.
Thanks! Yes these days don’t come often when the water is crystal clear
Your videos keep getting better and better...amazing
That’s what I love to hear, thank you so much 👍🏼
Cool video. Would like to see more of these.
Thats hilarious when the turtle came into frame. Lmao. They all seem so chill.
They are always just hangin out 😎
Crazy seeing how the blugill.are smart enough to see that there's a line attatched to the worm
My local river. They stock it with baby blue gill, Sunny’s, rock bass, trout, and I think there is suckers and worms are the way to go for the rock bass
Awesome video bro....this was very informative
Happy to hear that man! I appreciate your support 👊🏼🎣
Panfish and bass will usually go for a suspended bait much more readily, especially if it's 6-12 inches off the bottom. I'm sure this would be tricky with a camera attached to your fishing line...maybe run a longer leader from the camera and put some sort of float just above the bait/hook, and give it some action every now and then.
He can also you a needle syringe to pump air into the worm
@@johnendalk6537I would like to learn how to put air in a worm
Great shots Magician!
Thanks!
Fun video. Try a worm inflator, that’s a needle you stick on the worm to blow an air bubble in it. Then the worm will float a few inches off the bottom. I thought it was a joke the first time I heard about it but it really works great here in California.
Great way to see what's on the bottom of a pond
That looked like a pretty good decent sized catfish
Great job dude. Well done. Liked and Subscribed.
Thank you for the positive feedback! Happy to have yah on board
Great video! Thank you 👍🎣
Thanks for the positivity 👏🏼
Would you say they were acting a little ….. “fishy” Lmao 😂
i think it s the way you been loadig that worm too - i started using live nightcrawlers again after only artificial but i was using a lot less worm than when i was a kid and hoooking the worm like a texas rig but leaving the tail end just 1 cm off the barbed hoook and personally i think it works just as good as loading half a worm on a hook.
Try a size 6 or 7 bait hook, you’ll like the results
i use size 8 circle hooks
Enjoyed Mark great video action thanks for sharing
Thank you very much Bobby 👊🏼
Just a suggestion if you use a size 4 hook and put the worm on as if you were putting on a sock and elevate the hook so it's off the lake bed you will have a better chance of hooking them.
Great video thanks 👍
Great video thanks
Awesome 👍 the clear water was great
Thank you man👊🏼🎣
Fishing where im at ive been on a huge skunk this is cool to see
I love this stuff bro! new sub from me. Keep em coming!
I always sewing string tie my worm on so as to not lose it or have it stolen and it helps to keep it on longer. Yes I prepare it in advance to keep from wasting time getting it back into the water.
Gotta do more of these 💪🏿💪🏿
Definitely 🤘🏼
Don’t forget lol
Awesome Mark happy new year 🎊
I'd love me some of those Bluegills for bait my brother. God bless Y'all and much peace and love from northeast Texas 🤠✌️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Oh yea! Thank you man. I appreciate you always supporting brother
Great video! Thanks!
Absolutely!
I've been catching catfis and bass with hot dogs and small pieced ham marinated in garlic powder. Would love a video seeing fishing with non traditional baits/maybe even biscuit dough too.
Cool video lots of good eaten down there 🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟🐟
That is such good camera quality
[thank, you for you're video and you're info]👍
I like these videos💯%
I’m glad man thank you for watching 👊🏼🤘🏼
We have a device sold here in the Seattle area that lets you inject the worm with fish oil (or other oils). Fish feed two ways, by sight or by scent. Adding scent makes it killer.
Interesting idea and a very well thought-out rig. Makes me want to make one of my own. Thanks!👍
Glad you liked it! Give it a try!
4:44 bro was like
“Yo what’s up”
You should probably try the floating worm trick
What kind of camera is that , where to get it an can u see the video live like on your phone on is it just a go. Pro an u gotta wait to see what's on it
Am a total believer. Keep trucking
That is so freakin cool. Nice video.
I appreciate it 🙏🏼🙏🏼
I break the nightcrawler in half too but I put the pinched end on the top and let the part that wiggles on the bottom. I also use a bobber and a small split shot. Been doing it since I was a kid. I catch perch that same way. Wait until the bobber starts moving and then I set the hook. Boom! Fish on! I’m from Washington state and most of the lakes around here are brown but that’s what always works for me. Never missed a fish and it doesn’t take long at all.
I've bought 2 small round Tupperware containers 8oz with lids. I put a 1/4 of the Tupperware bowl with dirt then spray lightly with water. Then I flip logs and rocks spray areas under rocks and logs really well then wait for worms to come up.
Lesson learned just bc you don't get a bite doesn't mean fish aren't there.
New to this channel 👍🏽🔔what camera do you use for the underwater shots?
How did you get the video signal when the camera was underwater? I see no cable and wifi is nit good underwater.
I don't know if this applies to me. I use the whole worm, and slide it up the line, past the loop of the hook.
I love the camera view!
Tilapia taste so good kept going through my head
Great video!
Thanks!
Great video. Thank you.
New sub.
Tight lines! 🎣🧢
Awesome to hear that! Thank you 🙏🏼
Would be interesting to see how they react to worms that are squeezed with a small rubber band rather than hooked. Nice and extra squirmy
Wow what a good idea! I’m going to try that and see how it works.
Very encouraging
Nice video thank you.
Right On!!! They like to nibble the worm then leave you with just a hook.
Great video
not that i am a expert, but ive found that longer leaders help when fish are spooky
Awesome video so cool
Awesome video my dude.. 💪🏿💪🏿u don’t play no games
I appreciate you man, we innovating out here 🎣👊🏼
would love to see you do this with a little piece of marshmello or something to lift that bait just a little ...
so fish are deeper than what we think? so raise the bobber up higher if bobber fishing so the bait reaches further towards the bottom. i’m new to fishing
You should try a floating jig head, or "Phelps Floater" to float the worm off the bottom. It's a pretty common tactic up north for walleyes.
Good information.
Very cool. I would like to see the same thing done with various Jerk, Crank, and Swim Baits...
Is it me , l seem to get better bites on the lower half of the worm ( tail end) opposed to the part above the band?
sunfish swims up says wut the hell is that ? bass swims over ~~~~ im not sure ! OMG ! ITS MOOVIN ! GRAB IT ! sunfish says Im not touchin it ! you nab it ! bass : Im not touching it ! carp swims up: hay lets get Mikey he'll eat it he eats anything !
We don't even have a place to buy worms around this area of Massachusetts. I guess you have to even buy them online too.
Wal mart has worms 🪱
Oh my god lemme tell you bluegill and panfish might not like the night crawlers as much but my goodness sunfish love ‘em up in Salisbury, Maryland.
Awesome video
Thank you 🙏🏼
Great informative video! Her what camera are you using underwater?
Thanks! It’s called the gofishcam
Fish can sense the camera frequency
AWESOME VIDEO AS ALWAYS DUDE 🤙🤙🤙 MAYBE TRY LEAVING HALF OF THE WORM OFF THE HOOK TO WIGGLE AROUND SOME TO ATTRACT THEIR ACTION 🤔 ??
Another thing. Using a love worm always hook up a bobber especially for panfish of any kind. You'll get more bites with your worm off the bottom.
