  • The laid back cousin of the Kawasaki ZX10R, the Ninja 1000SX has a lot in common with the green superbike but has been built with a very different intent. It combines the muscle of an inline 4 mill with the comfort of a sofa to see you travel far and long but fast! Sarge hops on to discover just that and more as the Ninja 1000SX turns out to be an automotive journalist's nightmare! Watch on to find out why. Price* - 11.86L exshowroom

It's about 80% as fast as a proper superbike, but on our roads, it's significantly more versatile and comfortable than one. The one bike that actually makes you wonder whether it's even worth buying a superbike if you're only going to use it on public roads.
Great video as always, Sarge. 👊✊😎

Bloody hell! I purchased a 2022 1000sx a few months back and CZcams is suggesting this one as I've watched all of them. But I have NEVER seen a review done so well, so professionally, with such incredible cinematography, presentation and editing. I mean this could, and really SHOULD be used in part for the SX advertising footage. It's almost.... beautiful! Honestly well done this is superb work. And your factual coverage is superb. Not a single disagreement from me now owning one. Got a sub from me. Now I have to go and watch your other ones!!

@@mysticpond9127 Hey mate. I'm 183cm (6 foot). At this height with the stock seat I flat foot both feet when at standstill. I would estimate that any less than 5"10 might be where you start to lose both feet flat on the ground. As for riding it, super comfortable and easy at most heights.

Got this bike exactly a week ago . Sarge, every single word you said in this review is exactly how I would sum up Cyclotron. Delighted that I made the right choice.
Below are couple of points in addition to what Sarge mentioned in this review. Please note that I won't repeat all the great positives that Sarge mentioned in the video.
    1. I think I am gonna keep watching this review every night before going to bed.
    2. Fuel range ranges between 280 to 340 depending on the speed one tours in. Below 139 its usually around 20+. Above 140 it drops to about 17. In bumper to bumper traffic it can further drop down to 10 kmpl.
    3. This bike made me unlearn what touring is thanks to its brilliant quick shifter and cruise control. BTW, the cruise control activates only after 2K RPM in 4th, 5th and 6th. Cruise control works between 39 kmph to 143 kmph. Quick shifter is best used above 2.5K RPM for those smooth upshifts.
    4. The stock headlights are really great as far as intensity of light and throw are concerned. Definitely needs a slight mod there.
    5. The ex showroom price is 11.8 lakh and not 12.8 lakh.
    6. While this is a sports tourer, thanks to its 6 axis IMU, it also has a lean angle sensor which is super cool IMO.
    7. Its loaded with several buttons on the left. While riding in the dark, I accidentally pressed a wrong button most of the time. Wish it had back lit switches.
    8. As far as looks are concerned, I personally don't like the design of the silencer. While I am absolutely fine with having just one can, the shape of it could have been way better than its current form.
    9. The bike is so smooth that sometimes I felt like I am riding an electric bike.
    10. As always, Sarge made yet another beautiful video of another beautiful machine.
P.S. - Most of the points mentioned above are basis my experience of riding it for 1200 KMs in the week gone by.

8 months and about 9000 KMs later, I am so glad I picked this up. My fiance and I did a 1400 KM road trip i.e. from Hyderabad to Goa and back. Our ride time was about 20 hours in total and she didn't complain of butt ache even once. Infact she was praising it's comfort compared to my previous bike which was the Ninja 650. The slipping of the rear seat that you mentioned is absolutely true especially when breaking hard.
As a rider, what I absolutely loved during the trip was the way it delivers power especially in sport mode. On our way from Hyderabad, we had plenty of speed breakers almost every 10 KMs over a 350 KMs stretch. While I had to reduce speed drastically for the speed breakers, it picks up speed like no one's business. And while coming back home, when we chose to return through a different route, i absolutely loved the cruise control on it. It was the first time i could use it properly over a stretch of 150 KMs between Sangli to Solapur and what a boom it was I mean, even with a pillion on, we managed to cover 700 KMs in just under 12 hours including a cumulative 2.5 hours of break in between. The only issue I have with it is it's ground clearance, especially with a pillion on. I guess I have learnt to live with it thanks to my previous experience with Ninja 650.

I can definitely say that every video of yours has not just been made for the sake of posting it on CZcams but instead a lot of planning and story-lining goes into it which is appealing to the me. I have stopped watching other review channels simply because this channel has it all. Right from the narration to the quality of videos, it has the right amount of everything. Thought of recalling a chat with a friend that said,"I saw a Dyno chart many years ago in a magazine. Till approx. 8000 RPM Ninja 1000 made more power and torque than all the racing 1000 cc, including BMW S1000RR. The writer said that due to this even if the Ninja makes only 135BHP (now it makes 150), it is quicker and faster than all other race bikes in most of street riding, unless you were racing and that super sports people are always surprised how quickly it accelerates from stop lights." Even without going into the details it is evident that Ninja 1000 is a hell of a bang-for-the buck proposition in this segment and will remain the same for years to come!
    Appreciate your making as always!

I have always felt that 1000 SX is a sophisticated package in a "humble" form factor. The best thing about this bike is I feel that it gets almost all the basics right. Also, I feel that Kawasaki could give this bike a little more "character" which would help it to stand out from the rest of the crowd because from a price-to-performance standpoint, this is one absolute banger of a motrocycle. This coming from an owner of a Ninja 650 (so might be biased as well). 😁

Another way to handle those tall and sharp speed breakers is to go over them in single digit speeds. I used to do that with my old Ninja 650 and now with Cyclotron too (Ninja 1000 SX). So far, I never ever scraped the belly of my bikes. But I do hate slowing down to single digit speeds TBH. But they also get back to cruising speeds even before you finish your thoughts.

The BS6 ninja 1000sx comes equipped with the Bridgestone battlax hypersport S22s; this one however has those OEM Dunlop sportmax 2s which are seen on some of kawasaki's more budget friendly options. Wonder why that is and if that had a negative impact on the machine(if any). Keep up the lovely work and keep churning out that content we love so much❤️.

Here in the USA, we do not appreciate sport touring machines like this. But luckily, I can watch your reviews to see great reviews. Thank you for helping someone across the world make a choice! I think this is my next bike.

Why do you not appreciate bikes like this?

    • @JCintheBCC
      @JCintheBCC Před rokem +3

@@SlightlyPro_ Here in the USA, long distance touring often includes long stretches of very straight, flat highways. Where I live, I can easily ride 400 miles (~650km) without changing roads and without encountering a real corner (I-15 south from Salt Lake City, UT is straight and flat until Las Vegas, NV). So long-distance touring motorcycles are more commonly of the Harley-Davidson type (very heavy and low) or Honda Goldwing/BMW K1600 type (very heavy and powerful). Sport riding and touring riding are often very different activities, so motorcycles like the VFR series, the ZZR series, the FJR and other bikes that blend turning with touring are not appreciated as much. I think it's a big mistake and that's why I like the Ninja 1000sx.

I have the same exact trim for my 2022 Ninja 1000SX and same exact thoughts Sarge!! I felt like You and I were talking at the same time. I found the blipper to work best when you are rolling down the throttle and then downshifting, but yes, it's not as slick and smooth as the quickshifter. The quickshifter shifts like a dream. I have the same exact thoughts on the menu and the bluetooth connectivity too. Another bumer is that though there's a mounting niche for a USB port, but the port itself is an additional accessory rather than a factory fitted equipment.

Hi Sagar. I have the 2011 model and it could just as well have been this model mechanically, except the clutch....rear shock adjuster and speed control. Virtually everything you experienced is spot-on. Mine has 54,000 km on and have had zero problems....a much overlooked and underrrated model in my opinion.
Thx for an excellent presentation...🙏...South Africa
