- BMW Motorrad recently dropped a nuke in the form of the 2022 F850GS and F850GSA that has sent ripples through the industry as we have never seen this competitive a pricing from the German manufacturer. Both models are now available only in the Pro Variant with the F850GS now priced at just Rs. 12.5L while the bigger GSA putting you back by Rs.13.25L. That's a staggering price for a fully loaded beemer, but does it have the go to take on its competition? Sarge hops on the burly F850GS Adventure to find out.

For someone who doesn't do off-road, do you think the F850GSA will do the job, or do I have to go to the 1250 GS? Is the 1250 GS worth the extra money? Do you think a F850 GSA owner would have to upgrade to the 1250 GS
after a few years or months?
If you can stretch your budget to the 1250 then get it.

As a mile muncher bike (mostly highway or bad tarred roads) that is easy to manage (mostly solo) would you prefer the f900xr or the 850gs. Both come in similar kit.
For the road the f900xr makes more sense

1:08 My usual rant! When there is an IMU there ought to be adaptive cornering lights, atleast as an option. Just port it from the F900XR. This bike is near perfect. The best segment of you videos start at 8:05. Incidentally you mentioned the same points for the F900XR as well. Heat and a clunky quick shifter.

The tyres! They were already struggling on the road .. and offroad they offered very little grip

You can but the bmw makes a lot less power than the ninja.

Surprisingly and pleasantly very sensible pricing. Hope bmw get the volumes they deserve on this.
Absolutely
While there’s no doubt that the weight is brilliantly masked on highways, but it does start showing up on tricky and technical trail riding with single tracks. The softly sprung suspension while being a blessing on regular roads, acts exactly opposite combined with the massive low end torque from the engine. The engine wants to jump off and suspension throws you back.
I love the fact that this bike will compel the rider to learn clutch feathering else punish them bad. 😄
But yeah, 99% of the potential buyers won’t even take this mammoth to highly technical trails and that makes this GSA (& GS) a do it all big bike.
I disagree. With the right tyres, the GSA is a hoot to ride offroad. Not as well balanced as the 1250 thanks to the boxer engine but surprisingly easy to ride
