On Xscape's Unsung episode, Tiny and Kandi both said that Tocha's husband Rocky played a role in boosting her head and making her feel like she didn't need the group. He helped her lose weight and gave her a confidence boost. Rocky was also Xscape's manager back in the day and was the reason why they broke up.
When Tamika said that Tocha always been their mother's favorite told me all I needed to know. Tocha knew damn well that she and that husband of hers stole Tamika's money and mama got a cut of it. That's why she was defending Tocha.
Tasha’s weight clearly caused her a lot of trauma. The industry is brutal.
I can't imagine being know as the big one of the group. People are so damn insensitive and rude.

Giselle is already miserable that why she lies on the women who has a loving husband on the show and she doesn't. She don't go for Robyn relationship because she is miserable too like Giselle.

That’s because she uses the group to try and push her solo work just like Kandi said back in the day. She’s always tryna elevate herself off the backs of the group. My thing is if you wanna go solo then fine I don’t think the group cares but it’s how you go about. She mistreats the group by keeping it secret and not showing up and then she blames them for her behavior. It’s crazy.
Definitely a recycled story line. Who cares if she goes solo at this point. Kandi, did and everyone is still alive e and well. Tocha seems to want the attention behind going solo
Tocha is releasing a gospel solo album in March. Her single, "Stay With Me" is good but it sounds like something that Jonathan McReynolds would do.
It's so sad at 50 she doesn't understand you can do both at the same time.

Tocha's husband is a narcissist. He gets off on playing her against her group members. He makes her feel like she's superior to them and they need her to manipulate her.
I will never forget going on a road trip with 5 or 6 tween aged girls when that No No No song came out. They sang those songs with their full throat for 4 hours!
Mother's who pit their daughters against each other, are usually jealous of thee daughter they are ostracizing. And they use the 'Fav' to go at that daughter.

I played SWV's comeback album, I Missed US, from 2012 EVERY DAY for 6 months str8. And they ALL sang lead on multiple songs. Coko and Taj have their issues but I think they've finally found a way to deal with it without it destroying the group again. Tocha truly thinks she is Beyonce. The way she walked in that room with her nose to the ceiling..OMG. Just STANK AF. But we have rocky AND mama Gloria to thank for that. The way Gloria stood there and said "She's jealous" on camera for no good reason. I just can't.

There are too many mothers out there to this day still playing this favoritism to their children. And that is very bad poor parenting. I think that their mother enjoys the drama. Because it keeps both of them running to her. And she don't have to worry about being lonely. Because she was really showing out for the cameras acting like a drama queen trying to kick the camera crew out. Trust and believe I grew up with mothers that act just like this. She is enjoying every bit of this drama. Because now she's getting a lot of attention

It seems like Latocha was mad she knew she had the best voice and felt she should have been further than Tiny and Kandi she was on R&B divas and did cooking,but still struggled those 2 took years to build it up and her husband isn't making her career any better..Swv has grown for the better Coko got divorced and had more time on her hands because she had the same attitude as Latocha

Gizelle didn't respect her OWN BOUNDARIES of being alone with a married man. It didn't matter who asked to go to the room because they both MUTUALLY AGREED after whoever asked. You can't put being uncomfortable on him when the uncomfortablity was voluntarily imposed upon herself.
Then to make him the owner of her uncomfortability instead of saying once we were alone I felt uncomfortable because of the optics vs saying Chris did something. All he did was share a space with you. That's as far as it goes.
This is why I roll my eyes at the terrible set up between her, Ashley, Mia and whichever other muppeters were involved.

Great Review... I absolutely love both groups. Stylistically I give props to Xscape, specifically because every girl sang lead and got moments to shine in "Singles" not just deep album cuts. Cook was the clear star of SWV. Xscape gave more of an En Vogue vibe. There might be a "lead" but we're all gonna shine.
Lele looks good I was so hurt when she used to be homeless.
Sometimes that bass or low register be on point and makes some of the songs great. Example, if you listen to some of them boyz 2 men songs, Mike's bass was the sh**t and made you really feel the songs. Same with Kandi.
Bondy I think it’s not an age thing. Even a lot of GenZ already think they have nothing else to learn in their young age. Lol it’s a character flaw.

19:02 rocky is definitely in her ear. She’s blindly following his lead not realizing that he pretty much messes up most opportunities for her. I believe he bigs her up making her think she’s better than all the ladies. Tocha to me has a false sense of self esteem. Meaning she thinks she’s worked on herself but she really hasn’t she’s still struggling with the insecurities and self esteem issues. Probably relies on Rocky or others to help her feel good about herself which is why he tends to big her up. Ain’t nothing wrong with bigging her up but do it with the right motive or intention and be honest with her instead of creating this Diva Monster like as if she’s better than the rest.

Chiiilllleee, I must have grew up different because ain't no light skin person was bullied in my school. No cap what so ever, you could have been odd looking and won most attractive if you were light or known to be mixed. If anything, I grew up seeing lighter skin girls bully the girls who were much darker. Not to say that the inverse didn't happen, but we know who was most likely to be treated badly among us. I also find it funny how the narrative now is that all the light skin girls were bullied when I know that narrative has always represented something said waaayyy more than witnessed... Let's all keep it a buck.
I just said this on another review: for every rhop season esp with Giselle should start with a disclaimer that if allegations are made for TV without production footage or film consequences should occur
But what happens if someone is actually sexually harassed off camera ? Thats the reason why Gizelle playing with those accusations is so detrimental. I think they should just fire her.
You're so right about the 40s-60s not wanting to listen. I have plenty of friends and family,those ages, who have a very rigid way of thinking. You can't change their mind for nothing. I have a 20 year old who keeps me pretty grounded,lol,she teaches me things all the time!

If Robyn is fired for the monetization/double dipping (Patreon) scandal. Gizzy needs to go too. They share the podcast and Patreon meaning they're splitting the I'll gotten gains. Gizzy also apologized for(acknowledged) essentially claiming sexual harassment because a man wanted to have a private non-sexual conversation.

I think that Kandi meant she let's Todd take the lead within the household. He most certainly does seem to be more involved with home life & maintaining that work/home balance for her. She seems to have found a great partner.

I was watching season 1 reunion of the Rhop and Giselle Bryant herself said she could pass for white but she is black. Ashley and Katie even called out Robin and Giselle for having European features. Long story short Katie and Ashley said the same thing that Candace said but her delivery was different.
You hit the nail on the head with your analysis of this entire situation with a Xscape and the root of their problems and it is the jealousy Latocha has for Kandi now and back then; they need a weekend with Inyanla because she will get them together with love.
I completely agree with your updates that should be done to the show. I don’t think they can continue with this same tired cycle for too much longer.

I agree in that the " im not willing to learn" affects all age groups these days. Taneka and Tosha mama is not in her forties or fifties because her daughters are, she has to be in her 60s or 70s, she is probably a baby boomer.
