Amazing Imran as always ❤
Really good video!!!
I expand on this tomorrow!!
I almost wiped out my entire media library trying to figure this out. Thank you for this information
That's caught me out so many times in the past, not zeroing out the medium and large fields. Actually, I only started doing after watching one of your videos.
This snippet is a massive time (and definitely space) saver. Many thanks, Imran.
One thing: you emphasise and re-emphasised the fact that you didn't make any changes in Media Settings. Does it make a difference if one has already made changes?
It’s fine to do both :) :)

Cool. Thanks for confirming.
Thank you for this! I have a 10 year old site with lots of images. Anyway to clean that up. I've always disliked those duplicates but never was sure on how to best remove them! Please and thank you
I'm adding this code snippet ASAP! Thanks Imran for sharing 😍
My pleasure 😊
Great content!! your rocking it! atm. don't stop, love the channel!! :)
Thank you! Will do!
Dang, it never occurred to me it was creating duplicates because I didn't see them in the Media library. Thanks for this code and video!
Would this be recommended for a webshop? I always assumed this is to increase the loading speed because the webshop/website would load the most suitable image for the specific device/screen resolution? As I said, I assume, so I might be completely wrong. Can you say anything regarding this point?
It’s meant to load the most suitable image but doesn’t always follow that and you may still get issues of inappropriate sizing for different devices
do you have any code snippet to do that existing imgs?
Coming up. Just testing/checking.
Nice one. I guess iwe could still add our custom image sizes as well, because I guess it makes sense to have one image size that is your blog's content width.
Yup your original image will remain
@@websquadron No, I meant, if we could still add our own custom image sizes via snippet and then have the original, the 150x150 thumb plus whatever other image size I added as custom image size via snippet?
Thanks.
Great informations! How about the present images that I already uploaded in the last years?
I'm looking at a Code solution. But need to full check and test as to the impact.
@@websquadron OMG that would amazing to be able to get rid the those extras on older sites. Amazing tip!
@@lunacco yup that video came out today with another snippet to get the old dupes
The link does not seem to work for the code snippets
I just clicked and it went to the pack with the snippets bundle?
Why you should keep the thumbnail?
And this works with featured images on blogs?
And how could I delete the other picture versions, If I didn’t had the Code Snippet before?
Unfortunately - you got to do that manually. I am still testing a safe way to do that for previously uploaded images.
@@websquadronjust saw this (I just asked the question too)
I use meow plugin that gives a little more features.
Excellent
Whats the benefit of using the code snippet plugin vs just using the snippets in the child theme functions.php
I like to have them laid out as easier to manage :)
Is that your own plugin@@websquadron, or one that you found?
I do the same and just keep the original and a webP version. How come you keep the thumbnail?
Sometimes for Posts and Products it can make a difference. Sometimes...
Need one to delete the originals and keep only webp
Indeed.
@@websquadron any way to do that? I found only one plugin that support deleting original after converting to webp, but that plugin (Swift Train) no longer work and development halted
