Hi DrGary, this might be random and a little weird. But my late boyfriend (he passed away January 21st 2019) he had alopecia Areata and was severely depressed. He didn't want to go out in public but his mother told me when I started dating him it gave him so much confidence and he started going out in public again❤ anyway I just wanted to say one of the reasons I love watching your videos is because you remind me of him and it always puts a smile on my face. So thank you Dr Gary, not only for your educational videos but for putting a smile on my face. I hope this doesn't sound weird!
RIP to my first love, Ryan I always love you
i’m so sorry for your loss ❤️
So sorry for your loss !!! 😔
This is so wholesome ♥️ may he rest in peace♥️
@F F I think if they wanted to discuss his cause of death then they would have mentioned it. Some people have no manners, that was a rude and out of line question.
@F F It doesn’t affect life expectancy, the immune system mistakenly attacks (only) hair follicles. The person is not sick.
Oh, he has a background in art! It seems so important for a plastic surgeon to have a trained artistic eye. If I ever have anything done, I'm going to look for a surgeon with an artistic background too
Yes an artistic and perfectionist eye seems to be common in the best plastic surgeons. No detail gets overlooked!
Totally agree, that’s why I would never go to a Botox party or someone who has qualified after 3 days.
Plastic surgery is an art
I feel like most of them just follow what trends are currently on. I've heard so many stories with sh*tty plastic surgeons because some people went there for perhaps to fix one single thing like their nose and the doctor then made them feel really insecure by telling them "you could also do your eyes and lips and cheeks and blah blah blah"
@@sin3358 I would say run from that surgeon's office!
I am learning more at 2:30am from an ageless man with no eyebrows on CZcams than I did in some college courses I paid for.

at first i thought he did lost his eyebrows because of surgery 😂🤦♀️n yeah this is so true its 3;30 n you tube doctors r better than our teachers
Omg I am dying 😂🤣 but fax!!
Its his glasses, they are covering his brows.
The safest and cheapest way for the “fox eye” is makeup! Lol shaving the end of the brow and filling it in and using neutral eyeshadows. Permanent? No. Safe and cheap? Yes.
Best comment here. Lmao
Amen to that. No pain, suffering, drugs & side effects.
fax ive been doing this for over a year now id take doing that every day over surgery 😅
Then u don’t have hooded eyes. I wear make up every day and it does nothing to lift my eyelids.
@@singuensful I have hooded eyes too and I can achieve the effect by applying my eyeliner a certain way. Look up hooded eye winged eyeliner! However it may not work for every person as all hooded eyes are different
I know the celebrity videos do big numbers, but these educational and explanatory ones are my favorite! Thank you for continuing to make them for the nerds in your audience. 🤓

Couldn‘t agree more! 😀
Yes. Thanks.
Lolol I just posted something similar absolutely agree! A fellow skin nerd :)
Celebrities are overrated in the 21st century
My moto for plastic surgery is don’t get something solely because of beauty standards and trends. They change all the time and you have one body. Just get something that will help you feel more like you, and sit on the idea for a while before doing anything.
Exactly right
Just get something that will help you feel more like you? The mental gymnastics people do to make themselves sound less insecure. You hate the way you look and you wanna change it? Ok. No need for this “feel more like you” bs
@@semolinalibra if someone hates the way they look, the last think they should do is a permament change with 78462 side effects. we've seen enough of it, never ends well. if you think we should normalize unrealistic beauty standards - fine, but I'd rather convince others to accept themselves and change ''within themselves'' instead of putting a whole new face because of insecurities.
@@semolinalibra actually “feel more like you” is a valid reason. people with body dysmorphic disorder and trans people get cosmetic surgeries for this reason (mostly)

Hola desde MONTERREY hacemos prótesis dental
I’m 71 yo & had a lower face & neck lift when I was 66 yo. I’ve been thinking of getting Botox or fillers. After watching this video, I have decided to leave my face alone. Thank you for explaining in detail what is involved. I would rethink this decision if you were my surgeon.
Hi, how long did your lift(s) last, if you don't mind me asking?
@@h0rriphic it’s been 6 years, & I look pretty good. My skin is beginning to wrinkle & sag a little. You don’t stop agreeing after a face/neck lift.
One thing he doesn't mention about filler (unless I missed it) is that it never really leaves the body. The body migrates the intruding substance to deeper tissues to encapsulate it and keep the body safe from the substance. At that point it seems as though the filler has disappeared entirely, so people get new ones. You end up with a face literally full of filler.
Do you feel glad that you had a lower facelift and neck lift?
@@ebrady61491 Definitely,
My mother had what I think was the endoscopic procedure 19 years ago. She's now 68 and has no "surprised" look, nor does she look off. It was remarkably natural and the plastic surgeon did an absolutely beautiful job.
At the beginning of my 40s, I noticed a loss of elasticity in my upper eyelids, I didn't want to do botox, or surgery, I wanted to regain elasticity, so I did a tca peel 30% on the face and 25% on the upper and lower eyelids, and the result was spectacular, the upper eyelids returned to their initial position. Every year I start again to maintain the results. I also do radiofrequency, which has a very strong effect on collagen and elastin. Of course, if there's too much ptosis in the eyelids, the only way is surgery, but if it's a loss of elasticity, the solutions I've done on me work perfectly.
Thank you for sharing this because I am noticing a loss of elasticity in my upper eyelids and its nice to know this is even an option.
Is it safe to do? I can't find a medical place that will agree to doing a tca peel even around my eye area (under it).
That sounds amazing! Do you think it would work one me ? I’m 21 and I’ve noticed my upper eyelid has been losing its elasticity and I would prefer to get this type of procedures rather than an eyebrow lift.
@@katheldunne9358 You are way too young. Start with the botox if anything and wear sunscreen. When people start doing things to their face too young they begin to age faster.
@@suras8984 I agree with you, I'm older and I don't think I need anything, at that age she doesn't even need botox. I just think that with just sunscreen and eye contour with collagen it would be fine.
I'm a woman and my eyebrow sits low, like a man's. I always look a bit tired like I have sunken eyes even when I feel healthy and awake. I've just decided to accept how I look though because even the filler route scares me, I don't want to risk my health just for a certain appearance.
No one is forcing you to do anything, so no need to announce that you’re not getting anything 😂😂😂😂
I have hooded eyes and lowest eyelids so I have very little room to do eye makeup. Good thing I’m not good at it anyways and generally don’t wear it! Ahahahah….
Same here, girl
I'm the same, I always look like I'm -_- and I dont even pluck or put on makeup on my eyebrows, I just accept the look, hahaha.
I think low eyebrows look cool, not manly but elegant
I'm 56 this year, I have a few wrinkles here and there, I'm not as pretty as i was in my earlier years, I am aging. But I'm fine with that. Plastic surgery doesn't make you younger, and from what I've seen it doesn't make you look any better. Being obsessed with how you look is no match for being happy with who you are.
When you look in the mirror and see your youth restored, it does have the effect of making you feel more youthful than you are. This attitude can translate into better health. There are tons of folks out there with great results, where you wouldn’t realize it was surgery.
And some people really do look better when they get older.
@@merrywalsh2809 Seems sorta like a placebo effect...maybe working out or eating healthier would have the same effects.
I’m 54 and I agree
👏🏻 exactly!
I have a natural fox eye and in late 90s and early 00s when I was a teenager I heard ALL the time that I had an exotic face. Some girls wanting to bully me would call me Wolwerine. It never got to me because I liked my eyes and eyebrow that looked like my gramma's. All that to say please don't change your natural facial features to fit into a trend. They came and go.
Love that you have an artists eye. That’s so important for deciding what you need to do for desired results.
I love how Dr Gary is using a white NYX eyeliner to draw on this 🤣
I’m 43, I see things starting to go down, wrinkles starting to show, etc. But I never felt interest in doing those kind of works on my face. After seeing what can be done, I know I won’t be doing anything. But that’s just me and don’t judge who does. I believe everybody should just do what makes them happy.
I'm not a medical professional, i'm not interested in getting work done, but I enjoy your content.
Very cool video and great visuals!
Apart from extremely useful information and your polite, calm attitude, I ADORE your edits!! You have such a nice humorous personality!
Lots of love, thank you for your content and take care!
The medical dolly in your video is so realistic. When your left hand moved to its temple showing the facial features as you talked about brow lifting procedures I was stunned.
Hey Dr. Linkov! I missed your videos. I hope you and your family are well.
You just covered enough material for a month of study. Great info! Thank you, as always. Have a fantastic day!
I have no particular interest to pursue cosmetic surgery but the way you make these videos so educational makes me want to watch everything you upload. Thank you for generously sharing your knowledge!
I love watching your videos. You have the most calming voice. I actually watch you instead of asmr sometimes. 😍
I am 49 and I am thinking it is time for a face and neck lift. It is so complicated even knowing what procedures would suit me best. And then there are so many new techniques....
It's a lot to consider. Thank you for these in depth videos.
You should check out Lorry Hill's videos. She always recommends the "SMAS lift". She had it done herself and even made videos of the whole experience. She also shows you celebrities who have had that specific face lift. I used to be SO AGAINST facelifts, but since learning about this SMAS lift, listening to her and seeing her examples I think it's worth it if you have the guts and the money!
i dont think it's wise. In couple of years you'll want to do it again and again. Aging is in the nature of being humans 💜
@@giulibi1766 Yeah I wouldn't have the guts. And I'm ok with changing. (Meaning my youthful beauty slowly fading away)

Thank you for going deep what this video exposes is that these reconstructive procedures need to be performed by a highly skilled well trained surgical artist who has in-depth and specialized knowledge and expertise in facial anatomy. If I get surgery it’s Dr. Gary or a colleague of his caliber. FACTS!! 🎤🎤
Love how technical he is, can hear and see the experience.
a lot of younger women I noticed getting this... do not need it. they already have high arched eyebrows and they look great. i have however always had very low brows and hooded eyelids. when i became a teenager and started getting an interest in makeup, i would watch tutorials and notice that everything would be impossible on me. no eyelid space, and no brow space either. i went to surgeon when I was younger and expressed this and that in general I just look tired and I was just told I'm too young to have anything done to that area, even though my grandmother who had gotten a full facelift had higher brows and eyelids than me before it. Now that this is a trend I can finally get it done and not look droopy, sad and tired anymore.
edit and update: i just got it done and i think it looks incredible! i look much more awake and feminine! i'm already planning out all the makeup looks i want to try in my head that would've been impossible before! i literally just had it done so i'm nowhere near fully healed yet but so far i'm even happier with it then i could've imagined. if that changes maybe i'll write another update, but so far for anyone else that felt the same as me (like you had very low hanging brows and lids) i say go for it!!!
Relatable
Use makeup to highlight with concealer only under the eyebrow area only do not deepen it with colors and glitterfor the eyes , highlight your cheeks with blush and your lips with vibrant colors. I think you will like it
I love my hooded eyes and relatively low brows. It's not extreme but it still makes me unique compared to most women. I don't like hollow eyes at all.
Would you be able to share what type of surgical brow lift you received and/or your doctor? I have had the same issue since I was 20 and I’m 29 now and have had multiple consultations, but I haven’t but the bullet yet!
To each their own, but people have different eyebrow heights for a reason. We aren't all supposed to look the same. Even if a woman has low brows that doesn't mean she should get a brow lift.
Thank you very much for your educational video! It is really helpful and entertaining to watch at the same time. I would love for you to make a video about the different types of eyelid surgery 😊 In the Western world we mostly know about about upper and lower eyelid and not so much about canthoplasty/plexi (upperlatheral/latheral/lower/epi), Ptosis correction and incision/non incision), which are much more known in Asia. I would love to hear you talk about them, as I find I very confusing and since the ‘cat eye look’ became very popular 💖 greetings from Denmark 🕊
I enjoy your pleasant, detailed and straight forward style. Thank you for these videos.
I love watching your videos because of how you explain everything and it makes sense. Even though I never had any interest in getting surgeries at all, I still watch your videos as I really enjoy them!
your voice is so calm i love it
Happy to see you are back 😁😁
I'm turning 56 and I'd rather take the same amount of money I'd have to spend on facial surgery/botox (not to mention recovery time and possible surgical poor results) to go on a trip or donate to humanitarian causes. That being said, I think Dr. Linkov's videos are excellent, informative and his warm personality is engaging.
Bigger question: Why can't we accept aging? Why have seemingly intelligent women normalized all these body altering procedures? Is it fear? Competition? A sense of the grass is always greener on the other side of the liposuction?
i agree! also embrace your natural features
Had eyes done a decade ago due to hereditary excess skin around the eyes. Never regretted it. Gave an equal amount of money to children's charity. Hadnothing to do with not accepting aging.

Thank you for sharing and I hope the pain subsides soon. I am literally making faces just thinking of the pain you must be going through. I am 39, and things are also starting to hang. I’ll be 40 in August. But I am currently only doing Botox. I’ve done filler before with great results, but very modest to avoid pillow face. But it has worn off by now. The under eye area is what bothers me the most.
just got a lateral brow lift last week. Im thin so there is hollowing, however , he used filler over the upper eye lid to aid that issue. Its what Kim Kardashian did on her lids recently (many people missed it, even Lorry Hill). Kim got filler on her lids
Did you get injected above your inner corner too? What's your experience with it, do you know if migration is likely? Dr Linkov advised against it in this video but I've seen some oculoplastic surgeons inject this area (I have eye asymmetry in one of my eye in this region and I'd like to treat it).
I have asymetrical hollow eyes. Ive only recently heard that you can get fillers in that upper inner corner of the eyes. But I think its really dangerous because of the important vessels idk if I would ever do that.
@@mitza420 that's my problem as well! I'm wondering about the risk, some doctors do it I wonder if they use some sort of vessel scanners to make it safer. And another thing, there are very important vessels in the under eye region as well, maybe it's more common to inject because more people have experience with it unlike the area above the eye? So many questions!
So you must have a lot of disposable income. Who cares, as an adult woman what Kim Kardashian does? spoiler alert: we all (if we are luck to live long enough) get old and die. Our legacy as humans could be the love and art and hope we leave behind, not a superficially constructed behind...
@@mmm-lv5uc and you typed this comment while watching a plastic surgeon discuss surgical and non-surgical procedures for non love, art, hope or medical purposes? Is it more concerning person A - knows and discussed Kim Kardashian’s upper eye lid filler as they had the same procedure so knowing this seemingly niche fact isnt that strange because they probably researched before they had it themselves; and this comment on a video about eye related beauty surgeries, or is it more concerning someone B - is passive aggressive to wards person A for seemingly no reason as person B found this comment on a video and comment section about beauty procedures, saying who cares what Kim k does when what Kim k does is relevant to this video as Kim k like many celebrities is known for her variety of procedures because she influences the trends and thus what procedures are more available to normal people. And potentially more concerningly depending on which person you think is more concerning, people b then says “our legacy as humans could be the art, love and hope we leave behind not a superficial constructed behind” but also this person said at the beginning of their comment ‘so you must have a lot of disposable income’ which i infer is not very live, laugh, love i mean art, love, hope. But if this is the case as humans we have done terribly for our legacy seeing as humans have almost always been leaving behind a superficial construction; if only modern humans could only live, love, laugh and not know anything about Kim k’s upper eye lid filler, like how the ancient romans definitely weren’t obsessed with beauty standards and developed the basics of modern plastic surgery mainly due to their obsession of superficial values and they just focused on their legacy of art, love and hope.

@@isisjsbsdi5939 That’s what I’m wondering too. I barely have eyebrows, so I do microblading. A scar would change the quality of the skin, and then I don’t even think I could keep tattooing them.
I was hoping Dr Gary to share this. When he said “if you have full eyebrows it will hide well”, I was hoping he’d add something like “but if you have thin eyebrows I don’t recommend”.

I would never get surgery, it terrifies me and I have come to love my features ( I have a big semitic nose, straight brows,, it gives me a powerful witchy look which I love more and more as I age , it suits me). But I really do enjoy watching these video's.
I have a naturally high arch and a lot of upper eye lid that shows. Blessed, given todays trend. However the muscle above my eyebrow tends to protrude once my dysport wears off (it’s been 1.5 years since I’ve had it as I was over injected and a bit odd in photos when I couldn’t even blink lol). Would you suggest just sticking to the corners and crows feet whenever I return? She also did some in my upper forehead which I never needed. Just at this point where it’s all kind of dissolved, and I love it- but not the minor wrinkles and drops in corners.

I've been considering a brow lift for a few years, because my brows are kind of low, straight, and I have these pockets of loose skin underneath them, above my eyelids (kind of like the men's picture). I've always wondered if that would fix my insecurity regarding them, and make me feel better about the whole situation. I'm not crazy about the whole surgical augmentation thing, but I may get a few things done in my life, I.e brow lift, and breast lift (because I'm losing a lot of weight, and my chest is shrinking and starting to sag a lot). But I'm the same vein, I worry that I won't feel like myself if I get that done.

I had a browlift. My eyes were so hooded that the doctor didn't lift just from the sides of my hairline, he made an incision across my entire hairline. I promise you it's the best way to go especially if you are wanting to go permanent. The temporary lifts are a waste of money & you are going to put so much wear & tear on your face because of it while an eyebrow lift is one & done.
I thought this was supposed to be about fox eye surgery, not brow lifts. What am I missing?

Dr. Gary!! I love this type of video the best! They’re fascinating :)
I don't know why, but it tickled me to see you using in this clinical way the same ol' trusty NYX white pencil I deploy daily on my waterlines, lol. Thanks for the educational video! As my grandfolks are North Russian, the "fox eye" trend really interests me since I have this feature naturally & it is odd to see the trait I was once teased for suddenly blow up into part of the IG Face of the moment. Fashion is so random. :-)
Do you recommend Botox ( a week before the surgery) before brow lift ( endoscopic technique) ? Some surgeons recommend it so that the brow stays in its place & doesn’t lower after the surgery.
Fantastic Educational video for potential clients & others.
Hi Dr. Gary, I very much enjoyed watching this educational video. Thank you so much ❤⚘️
I'm so happy that I'm comfortable in my own skin! 😊
Your model is so realistic, including eyelashes, that I thought she was a real woman until you turned her head and I saw the veins and arteries. Very interesting and educational.
Great information, thank you!
An excellent video as ever. Greetings and commendation from Australia.
You have to be such a precise and artistic minded person to do these things well, I just could never trust someone to operate on my face unless maybe my life was in danger, lol.
Wow! Amazing stuff. So informative. I just got a lesson from Dr. Linkov for free. I'm going to see a highly respected plastic surgeon soon and he recommended an upper blepharoplasty first. I always thought the brow lift should come first, but I trust his decision.
He's right. I wish he wasn't in Manhattan. I know I can't afford his work in that location. I decided to wait and save a few more years until I can afford surgery in Manhattan. It's not just the fact that he is extremely humble yet confident, he is just one of those people that is relatable and makes you feel at ease.
i just learned how to do my eyebrow makeup just by your information in the first 2 minutes of this video. I never knew how to create that arch that i want until you told me how it should be in a particular position between lateral limbus and lateral canthus. Thank You.
Omgosh! That head model is so freaking realistic! Crazy! Clip was good, too, Dr. Gary Lol
