      @fuzzynubbins You only see mistakes made by surgeons because most people aren't stupid enough to perform these procedures themselves. There is so much that can go wrong and if you're not a fan of "greedy" plastic surgeons - none of these people NEED plastic surgery. It's completely optional and if you don't want to spend money to at least minimize the risks you don't have to get it.

    • @breeb2638

      A doctor can't reccomend any unlicensed person give injections with unlicensed pharmaceuticals. Regardless of how they personally feel about it, there are ethical, professional and legal obligations that doctors and nurses have which prevent them from being able to publically condone DIY filler. The same that keep them from condoning people removing their own sutures or taking off their own cast. Of course some professionals can make mistakes, some may even fail to attend to aforementioned obligations. But that's why research is important! Dr. Linkov does not stand to gain any significant amount of new clients from this one video, but you're of course entitled to extrapolate whatever you like. You will, however, be hard pressed to find any credible medical professional that would condone this publically.

How many people will attempt this after seeing her video and how many do you think will do it correctly and safely? The obvious answer is not many so again you're the one who needs to grow up.

      @fuabtreter7302 Před 2 lety +48

      @@kimlong-sf9ke Cool, you don't pay for the products though (as we saw, apparently everyone can easily get those), you pay for a professional doing it. You pay for the training that they went trough. Now obviously they are a business, so they need to make a profit which will drastically increase the price. Luckily these procedures are entirely unnecessary and only individuals that are sure that they want to risk their health and spend their money to minimize said risk in order to alter their appearance will go through with them. It's like a tattoo. Sure, you can easily do them yourself at home and some manage to make them look great, but there are health risks and of course the risk that it will look bad. If you go to a professional artist, it will look good, you will have the best chance of not getting an infection (depending on who you go to of course) and you will have someone with experience working with you. If they do it wrong, you can probably sue them. If you do it wrong, there is really nothing you can do.

And I’ve shared info or content in the name of harm reduction for sure. But the DIY attitude is what bothers me. Fine, do what you want to your own face. But if you upload a video to a public platform, people are allowed to criticize. And if it was really as easy as she seems to think…. There wouldn’t be so many things done incorrectly. I know that doctors are taking part in the workshops , they are only watching and afterwards they come back to the patients and do as they have seen, without any practice !! Hovewer, it is not only about the anatomy, but also about the density of the product, the depth, the amount, so it should be kind of artist who will not disfigure your face !! I’m not advocating that anyone do this to themselves, however, I have a few things to say. Just a philosophical perspective.
      I know a number of people who do, their own injections, and they have studied and studied anatomy and technique. Would you be willing to agree that there are some people who are so focused on doing these injections correctly and safely, that they might actually know the facial anatomy better than some doctors, and are more meticulous and cautious as well? And many also keep Hyaluronidase Bacteriostatic Saline on hand, knowing that most hospitals are not prepared for a vascular occlusion and don’t carry Hyaluronidase. Additionally They sanitize with the same antiseptics that physicians use, and are very careful to avoid contaminating the skin once cleanser or the needle once open.
      Doctor, are you familiar with a book called “when the air hits your brain”? It’s written by a neurosurgeon who says at one point, tongue in cheek, that the real test for a neurosurgeon should be the ability to pull a bone out of the game Operation without setting off the buzzer. The point being that while I respect the amount of education a plastic surgeon has, learning to do injections, particularly on oneself, can be done with literally the same degree of expertise as a physician. Once a person has become well versed in anatomy, mapped their own blood vessels, they become familiar with the specifics of their own anatomy, whereas Licensed injectors(physicians, nurses etc) are seeing multiple people per day. Again, I’m not suggesting that anyone inject themselves, but I also don’t think that anyone who does this is crazy.
      Another benefit of self injection is that the self injector can approach their “transformation” very slowly. Two days after injecting 1/2 cc, he or she can go back and add another .1 or .2 and so on.
      As far as whether insurance would cover complications, I have to ask, why does insurance pay for the lung cancer treatment of a smoker? Or the for cost of complications from obesity, like heart disease and diabetes?? What about when a drug addict overdoses? A driver who crashes his car and sustains serious injuries because he’s driving well over the speed limit? What about the complications from a suicide attempt? Say, stomach pumping or reconstructive surgery following a self inflicted gunshot would. These are all caused by choices/actions that an insurance companies could deem “illegal”. No?
      And I have seen plenty of nurses and Plastic surgeons admit to injecting themselves and some even doing so on you tube.
      Finally I want to say that I appreciate that you actually were pretty fair and open in watching and reviewing the video. For the record, I don’t know that I would say she is the poster child for self treatment. But I do believe there are people out there that might actually surprise and impress you!
      Thanks for listening!

    I have a medical port, so I’m quite familiar with needles and sterile fields and gloves and skin prep and all of that stuff. This girl is absolutely nuts to inject into her face based on some face map from google images, let alone without gloves. And where’s the sterile area where she’s keeping her things on? Is it just sitting on a random table? When I get my port accessed I stress that I’m going to miss and I can both see and feel where I’m supposed to stab the needle into. Not to mention the fact that I’ve had training on how to do it. She’s relying on sharpie to figure out where the needle goes, she’s obviously not qualified to go by feel, and she’s going based off of internet research. This is just such a bad idea.
